What a lesson in getting along on a long trip!
... I really liked this book. Betsy and her cousin George and their families are traveling west in the 1800s. George does everything he can to bother Betsy. It works everytime! There was no T.V. or radios to enertain the children, they had to make up games. It was fun to read about how things where in that time of history. If you have to read a historical fiction for a book report, this is a good one to choose.

I Do: A Celebration of Love in Four Inspirational Novellas
I highly recommend this book to any reader who loves inspirational romances! Each story combines romance, love, relationships and Christian faith. "Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Peace" by Veda Boyd Jones conquers love at first sight and its consequences. In Sally Laity's "Once Upon a Dream" the fact that love is not just for the young is dealt with elegantly. "Something Old, Something New" by Yvonne Lehman proves that matchmakers know a thing about love. Louree Lough's "Wrong Church, Wrong Wedding" shows that accidents are not always bad. Each of these stories are great, but "Speak Now.." and "Wrong Church..." are my favorites! Read this book now!

A GOOD BOOK
This was a very nice book and I think anyone would enjoy readign it, espcially around the holidays . . If you want to read a book that goes straight to your heart, read Stolen Moments by Barbara Jeanne Fisher. . .It is a beautiful story of unrequited love. . .for certain the love story of the nineties. I intended to give the book a quick read, but I got so caught up in the story that I couldn't put the book down. From the very beginning, I was fully caught up in the heart-wrenching account of Julie Hunter's battle with lupus and her growing love for Don Lipton. This love, in the face of Julie's impending death, makes for a story that covers the range of human emotions. The touches of humor are great, too, they add some nice contrast and lighten things a bit when emotions are running high. I've never read a book more deserving of being published. It has rare depth. Julie's story will remind your readers that life and love are precious and not to be taken for granted. It has had an impact on me, and for that I'm grateful. Stolen Moments is written with so much sensitivity that it made me want to cry. It is a spellbinder. What terrific writing. Barbara does have an exceptional gift! This book was edited by Lupus specialist Dr. Matt Morrow too, and has the latest information on that disease. ..A perfect gift for someone who started college late in life, fell in love too late in life, is living with any illness, or trying to understand a loved one who is. . .A gift to be cherished forever.

Wonderful
This is a fantastic book. Everyone should read it

Not Bad..... Still Bragging
It's another one of Tara's self centered books. Female skating legend? Yea right she's been around for what a year? But there is a few good tips and helpful quotes.

Of Course Tara is a Legend!
Of course,Tara Lipinski is a legend! She broke Sonya Henies record, and was the first women to do a triple-ltriple loop combo. And the fact that she's been around for such a short time is a testament to her boundless talent. And if you think Olympic gold medalists,Peggy Fleming, and Dorthy Hamil are legends,(which no sane person will deny) then wheather you like her on not, Tara Lipinski name is right besides them, AS A LEGEND.

Really great book
This book was really good. It tells about a "skating legand" and I am sorry but she is not bragging. If you like Tara Lipinski and love skating, read this book

A rather sanitized juvenile biography of Alexander Hamilton
When Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr fought their infamous duel in 1804 it is quite possible that there were the two most arrogant politicians in the entire United States. I recently finished David McCullough's biography of John Adams, so I was not inclined to think highly of Hamilton and Veda Boyd Jones faces a problem in trying to tell young readers about her subject's less than stellar character. This juvenile biography provides Alexander Hamilton's resume, but without really getting into why he was so admired by George Washington and so reviled by many others, beyond the idea that he was ambitious and wanted to achieve success as a military leader. The tone is set early in the book when Hamilton's illegitimacy and the intense social stigma of the times is reduced to the declaration "This bothered Alexander because it was very unusual at that time." While later scandals in Hamilton's life are ignored completely, I do recognize that there is little value in getting into the salacious aspects with this particular age group.

Consequently, my stronger criticism is for the general way in which Hamilton's strengths are presented; they are essentially reduced to the fact he supported a strong central government. The political struggle between the Federalists and the Republicans that led to the fatal duel is also reduced to the vague point that Hamilton called Burr dangerous in the newspapers. So, on the one hand I recognize that Hamilton is a problematic figure for a juvenile biography, but on the other hand this volume misses giving young readers a solid understanding of why he was one of the most important political figures of his day despite the fact he was never elected to political office. We are told Hamilton was an excellent writer, but while there are references to the Federalist Papers and other important pamphlets, we never really get a taste of his public rhetoric. The book is illustrated with historic paintings and etchings, some of which show Hamilton. Other titles in the Revolutionary War Leaders series look at not only Jefferson and Washington, but also Benedict Arnold, Nathan Hale, Thomas Paine, and Betsy Ross.

Selena - They Died Too Young
If you have no information on Selena then this book is a good starting point. This book is well presented with a beautiful front cover of Selena and many good colour photos inside. The chapters cover Selena's beginnings her road to success and and also gives an insight into her aspirations to become a fashion designer. Her relationship with Chris later to become her husband are touched upon as is the the hugely successful concert at the Alamodome in San Antonio a week before her death. The book features details about the search for an actress to play Selena in the film which eventually starred Jennifer Lopez. As much as I enjoyed the book and I think it is excellent value for money I wanted more information and more detail. 46 pages somehow doesn't do justice to the legacy that Selena left behind. If your daughter is doing a project on Selena at school as mine was then this is good source of reference.
