with Jesus the Christ or who wants to know what having a
truly committed heart for Him is, will want to read this book.
It is very obvious that E.S. Jones was Totally inspired by
the Holy Spirit to write this book. In the most gracious
manner possible, E. Stanley Jones teaches that, as followers of Christ, our Only purpose is to bring Him to others. Not imply or outright tell people they have to know Jesus like everyone else. That No Matter where we live, we are all individuals in Christ collectively comprising the entire body of Christ. Mr. Jone's realizations could Only come from a heart that is Truly aimed toward and seeking the Son of Man.

Jones made his decision for Christ at an early age. He lived it until his death in the early 1970's in his mid-eighties. The Divine Yes was written after a stroke that left him partially paralyzed, and his speech severely restricted. Jones said that, thanks to Christ, he was still the same person after the stroke as before. He said, "Since I can no longer preach a sermon, I must be a sermon." The Divine Yes sums up his ministry in more ways that one. It is Stanley Jones personal, life-affirming "Yes" to the Divine Yes that has already sounded in the person of Jesus Christ. As the scripture says, "For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why we utter the Amen through him, to the glory of God." 2nd Corinthians. 1:20
A book well worth reading. A man well worth remembering.

Although this book is only 160 pages, it is dynamic enough for Martin Luther King Jr. to consider it the best book on Gandhi ever written. I would only add that this book cannot be simply read and understood, it demands to be demonstrated in the life of the reader

This book wastes little time and immediately sends the reader on a deep, meaningful pilgrimage. All along the way Dr. Jones continues to point out interesting details of religous life in a captivating and honest manner. He backs up all of his statements with passages from the bible, expirences in his life, and with stories told to him by over Christians.
"In Christ" crosses over the denominational boundries that have plagued religon. The ideas and values presented in this book are true for all Christians. The doctrine in this book does not only crosses denomination lines, it also passes through time. The informaion provided in "In Christ" was true when it was first published in 1961, is still true today, and will be true far into the future.
I recommend "In Christ" to anyone serious about changing their live in a postive and dynamic fashion.

For many years, this man was a missionary in India, where he started retreat centers that he called "Christian Ashrams." Some of those Ashrams exist until this day. He was a prolific writer and left a good number of excellent books.
Books of E. Stanley Jones are not as popular now as they used to be, and almost forgotten, but what a treasure they are! One of the things you need to have in mind is that they are not an easy reading. You can quickly be distracted from a large volume of 360+ pages to something more enticing, but I challenge you to read at least one of his books from cover to cover. I am assured that you will be amazed at his approach to the Christianity. Perhaps, it will change your life, just as it changed mine 6 years ago.
The basic idea of E. Stanley Jones is that the ways of life and the ways of Christ are one. According to him, Jesus was not a moralist, imposing a moral code upon humanity, but the great Revealer of the Truth of Being. I would say, that he probably was a panentheist (don't confuse with "pantheist"!), although he mentioned it in his writings. Believing in the supremacy of Christ, he was willing to see grains of Truth scattered through all religions. No wonder that Ghandi choose this man to be his personal and intimate friend, although he did not share his convictions.
