YOU MUST GET THIS!
I have a rather large cookbook collection (over 500) but if I had to narrow it down to three (there's no way I could only save 1!) This would be one of the first I would grab. The other 2 would be the Better Homes & Gardens "New Cook Book" and as many of the Frugal Gourmet (Jeff Smith) books I could grab; especially, "The Immigrant Ancesters" cookbook.

I have used this book SO many times. From Quail to goose to ice cream made with snow.

Awesome book with great reading.

This "THE" Wild game cookbook
I have many shelves full of cookbooks, including many on wild game. But if I could only keep one book this would be it. This book is the best. I have owned this book since early 1984; it is now dog eared and marked up with comments from the dozens of recipes I have tried. Not only does it give you the best cooking methods for wild game (deer, duck, woodcock, antelope, snipe, etc), but also the accompaniments to go with them (wild rice, braised cabbage, etc) and recipes for camp or field (bannock bread, jerky, etc). If you treasure the sporting life, buy this book.

The L. L. Bean Game and Fish Cookbook
This book is THE game cookbook. Ever had anyone joke about eating 'possum? The recipes are here! There are recipes for all game animals/birds, fish and many non-game species. It is well written and, at nearly 500 pages, is a must for anyone who might be in the position to cook the ordinary as well as the unusual.

It contains info on game preparation such as filleting, butchering, smoking, grilling, and more. It provides info about the game you are cooking and even describes how to determine the age of the game you are about to prepare!

The authors experiences are shared and fun to read. Think of this book as the gold standard and the litmus test to which all others must pass.

The Trial of Don Pedro Leon Lujan: The Attack Against Indian Slavery and Mexican Traders in Utah

Recommended for Native American & Mormon History studies.
The Trial Of Don Pedro Leon Lujan is an explication of data surrounding a controversial Indian slave trading case in 1851 in Utah. Sondra Jones presents a corrected picture of the issues of slave trading and Indian slave trade in the West, specifically the Four Corners area. The complexities underlying this historic trial are revealed in a vigorous review of documents and evidence relating to the trial. Findings are contradictory and contrary to cultural assumptions of the stereotypic corrupt Mexican slaver's guilt. Mormon tendencies to intrigue, slave trade involvement, and racial prejudice figure heavily in the sequence of events. To answer the question, Was this a fair trial and how would the history of Indian (and other) slavery have been different were it otherwise, read on. Much that is surprising in this history review will arise, causing a rethinking of some of the known racist tendencies of the dominant culture. This could not have been an easy book to write. This book will be of interest to Mormon history scholars as well as Native American and perhaps mesoamerican studies.

Boston's work celebrates the African American Man.
Men of Color is an extraordinary acknowledgement of the fashion standards set by Black Men in this century. If you appreciate the value of books that celebrates the African American Man, then you'll love the work LLoyd Boston put into this beautiful book. The Fashions are avant grade. In every aspect of life the influence of fashion trends and style unique to our culture is powerfully presented.

The History makes for heart warming reflections. The photographs are absolutely to die for, Matthew Jordan Smith really works magic in capturing the true essence of the male mystic.

Fundamentals makes for valuable information for everybody. If you use it as shopping guide for gifts or simply to establish a style guide line for wardrobe choices Men of Color is a necessity.

The interviews provide the reader keen insights on style preferences from our favorite personalities. The entire book cover to cover is Magnificent...

Every "Sister" knows there is nothing more majestic than the sight of a well groomed and well dressed Black Man. His presence is powerful without him uttering a single word. It just dosen't get any "FINER" than that...

I salute LLOYD BOSTON for this dynamic tribute that celebrates our legacy and MEN OF COLOR all around the world

Men of Color: Fashion, History, Fundamentals
After reading and reading and reading Lloyd Boston's book "Men of Color: Fashion, Historyi, Fundamentals", I can honestly say that I LOVE THIS BOOK! It is a source of reference to me when I buy gifts for the special men in my life or when they are unsure of how to buy for themselves. It is a conversation piece with all who enter my home. We reminisce about the pictures and ooh and ahh over beauty held within the pictures. My favorite interview is when Mr. Boston speaks with Jesse Jackson on youth culture and fashion. Thanks to Mr.Boston for the picture of Tyson Beckford and the other fine men!

A Must Have for All Stylish Men
This book is simply amazing. I received the book as a gift from my fiancee and have treasured this book ever since. First, the photographs are amazing, pleasant, and necessary reminders of the way stylish men of color have shaped style and fashion over the years. Second, there is the instructional aspect of the book that covers matters outside of clothing and which I can't say enough about. After reading the section of the book that dealt with hair and skin care, I was motivated to go buy shaving soap and shaving brush and dispense with the shaving gel. Thanks to Lloyd Boston and this book I have had the best shaving experiences of my life. I can't say how necessary this book is for the many black men who go through the drama of ingrown facial hair. I have less drama than most in that department, but I have still seen a remarkable improvement in my skin, as would any man after following the book's advice. The book even arms you with the necessary vocabulary to navigate your way around a men's shop with ease. There is even instructions on how to do the perfect shoe shine! And as Lloyd Boston points out, well-shined shoes are the best complement to any wardrobe. So,to sum up this book, it is NECESSARY! It is necessary for any stylish man and any man who strives to be so. It is more than worth the money.

Outstanding academic study!
Lovers of Giordano Bruno (you know who you are!) will enjoy this book, because it clarifies a vast area of Bruno's thought as it relates to the Kabbalah. It illuminates a good part of Bruno's iconography as well. It is well written, and solidly reasoned and researched (unlike another recent book on Bruno). For the few who feel cabala-teologia-filosofia collapse into each other every once in a while, this book is a must. Buy it before it goes out of print.
