This is a delightful book. The illustrations are happy and colorful. Hare becomes Sandbear's "rescuer" after a surprise, unsuspected "accident." A very sweet, clever story. Can't wait to read it to my grandchildren!

The book was absolutely amazing!
I've been wanting to learn more about Jenny for the past 3 years and now I finally have.I've read the book twice.I gasped and cried in awe of her fascinating life.Things I would never have guessed in a million years happened to her.I admire her for not giving up and for going for what she believed in.But, I cannot believe that someone could be that naive.I will treasure Jenny for the rest of my life and even though I don't know her I love her.Great job Jenny! Sincerely, Jamila J. Johnson

inspiring, powerful, emotional, and very readable.
This story was very powerful to me because of Jenny's amazinghistory, and her ability to overcome adversity. It inspired me not togive up based on what others say, as well as made me cry several times. I am grateful to her for sharing such personal information with the public, and think she is a strong, sensitive, and wonderful lady. The book was emotional because of the similarities in our pasts with our families. She never gave up, as many do, and I admire her for that. Her courage, determination and strength came through in this easy to read, journey through the life of a very fascinating woman. I loved it, and will treasure it. I have read it twice so far. Jenny Jones: My Story was the best biography I've ever read.
Jenny Jones: My Story was the best biography that I have ever read. I am a real Jenny Jones fan and I couldn't wait to find out more about her. Boy did she reveal everything in her book. I enjoyed her honesty and openness with her readers. In ways, unfortunately, I can relate to some of the things that she talks about. I was very curious to hear the details about the notorious "secret crush show" for the first time from Jenny herself. Again, she was real honest and open. My favorite part of her book was when she explained a day in the life of Jenny during tapings of the Jenny Jones Show. I did not realize that she is so involved in everything. I am an avid fan of talk shows who has been in audiences of those in New York City many times and it was fun to see things from the other side. The end of the book brought tears to my eyes. I feel for Jenny and all of her hardships. I wish her continuing success in all that she does. Kristen Krikorian Syracuse, New York

LOVED THIS BOOK!
Jenny Jones is a magnificent heroine and Ty is just the man for her. Put Graciela into the mix and you have a dynamite combination. I enjoyed every minute of this book. It is one of the best I have read for some time. It has everything!

The Promise of Jenny Jones.
I can't say that I'm a fan of Westerns. But I really enjoyed this book. The characters are so original, alive and I couldn't stop laughing. Jenny Jones is a one of a kind heroine. She can cuss, shoot, and fight with the best of them. She's been a mule driver and buffalo skinner, jobs that usually men do. Her word means alot to her. But under all that, Jenny has a heart of gold and is a unique type of lady. The story is mainly about her. Ty Sanders, the hero is a good match for her (even though she's his equal in a brawl). Graciela, Ty's niece and under Jenny's protection is the reason these two meet, fight, change and eventually fall in love.

One of the top ten books I've ever read (and re-read)
I have read this book at least 3 times and loved it every time. the idea of giving up your life for your child is one of the highest accomplishments for a mother to do. Every mother can relate to that maternal feeling. The book is amusing and serious but most of all Jenny Jones can and does the almost impossible. A must read for all.

My son loves it!
'When you grow up' is a wonderful book which my young son very much enjoyed. The book gave him a cozy feeling and it encouraged him to think about what it might mean to grow up while keeping the love of his parents. The illustrations are warm and greatly complement the the simple but engaging dialogue. I can strongly recommend this book to parents for their children.

Warm, wonderful drawings and gentle whimsy
Zachary is quite definite that when he grows up he wants to live with his mother - but what if he decides to have a career or start a family? His mother poses many questions but Zachary refuses to consider any other kind of living arrangement - until a surprise twist at book's end. Warm, wonderful drawings and gentle whimsy.
