ONE WORD: OUTSTANDING
The best book on sports and law I have ever read. Michael Jones has truly outdone himself and is a great compliment to the world of education. His approach covers every aspect of sports and the law. This is pretty hard to do considering that sports change everyday and so do the stories surrounding them. I feel that I have a true understanding of how athletics operate; not just in this country, but globally! Good Job!

Excellent, concise insider's overview of sports law!
Name the sports law area, and you'll find it in this book: contract negotiation, constitutional issues, team doctor malpractice, and much, much more. Don't let its "survey" nature fool you. Sports Law provides in-depth analysis of the key area of sports law. Each chapter in Sports Law begins with a "case study," which the author uses to bring the black letter law alive! Also, each chapter is chock-full of examples to illustrate difficult points. This book will appeal to all who are interested in sports, ranging from law students to sports enthusiasts. For example, Jones' insight into player/agent negotiation is something that every sports fan will enjoy. In addition to outstanding written matter, Jones provides real world examples of player contracts, and even gives readers reference materials, such as sports law websites for each topic. Finally, the layout of the book is superb: the index is comprehensive (another plus for students) and each chapter highlights thought provoking considerations of key points. Kudos to Michael Jones! This book truly stands alone and brings this muddled area of law into sharp focus. Others in this field should follow Jones' lead by balancing the academic with the practical. It makes for an informative yet enjoyable reading experience! Whether you're a student, lawyer, or sports fan, this book should rank high on your list of must reads and must haves!

A must read for those interested in sports law.
If you are interested in the legal issues surrounding amateur and professional sports this book has it all. From the Olympics to the buiness of dealing with sports agents this book is a must read for students and lawyers alike.

Great for beginning and experienced osteopaths.
This is the long awaited basic textbook for osteopathic medicine. It is surprisingly complete, covering philosophy, history, research, and manipulative techniques. The beginning osteopathic student may find it most useful for its practical discussion on the techniques--high velocity, myofascial release, etc. I believe it is also helpful in standardizing our terminology, which will make it easier when taking board exams or talking with colleagues from other osteopathic schools. It includes contributors well known within the osteopathic community, including Michael and William Kuchera, Melicien Tettambel, Eileen DiGiovanna, and many others. As a family practice resident I frequently turn to this textbook first when I want to know more about how to treat a patient or when preparing lectures for students and housestaff.

The osteopathic manipulative therapy bible!
This text is actually required reading for most if not all osteopathic medical students. It is a 'textbook', however, and hence completely (sometimes exhaustively!) comprehensive. But it is easy to read so that anyone with an interest in OMT will get a methodic how-to for myriad techniques, also a thorough history of osteopathic medicine to boot! One of my OMT professors at the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine wrote or co-wrote a few of the chapters so of course, I think those are the best! If you are looking for an educational approach to learning manipulation and the reasons behind it, this is a valuable resouce.

Excellent book
This International Security reader is a great collection of the recent work in the realist tradition in International Relations. Here you can read the "classic" authors (like Waltz and Walt) and the "new generation" (Schweller - excellent - and Zakaria). The introduction, written by the editors of the volume, is wonderful: it really "maps" realism and its authors. There is also two essays by John Mearsheimer, the "hardcore" realist and his gloomy "Back to the Future" article. Great book and certainly worth the money. This is the best book in the "International Security" readers series.

An absolute must for any aspiring "imagineering designers"!
This is an absolutely fantastic inside look at the design process of Disney Imagineering. The book details the past, present and future projects along with great anecdotes from the Imagineers themselves. The book is also filled with rich pictures, illustrations, and sketches from projects both built and left on the "shelf". As one who wishes to pursue a thempark design career, this book acts as a great reference tool and both inspires and motivates your creative juices.

This is the most inspirational and motivating book I've read
This is the BEST book I have EVER read. I'm 14 years old and ever since I came back from Walt Disney World in 1999 after seeing the Millennium Celebration, I have wanted to be an architect for Walt Disney Imagineering. I recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of Disney or wants to be an Imagineer. It has inspired and motivated me to be the best I can be and to look at everything as an oppritunity to see and learn new things. I have never wanted to be an Imagineer more since reading this book. It gives you a beautiful and rare collection of WDI drawings and paintings and what it's like to be an Imagineer. They explain the jobs there and tell you what it was like to work for some of their biggest projects. I was sad when I finished this book! Each page motivated me to turn to the next and keep reading until my eyes fell out! There are inspiring quotes from Walt Disney and the Imagineers themselves. The the Best and Only book on Walt Disney Imagineering.

A beautiful volume for Disney lovers
I absolutely cherish this book and reviit it time and again just to look at the photos and drawings. Contains detailed information about how the Imagineers go about creating the Disney theme parks and hotels and shows all of the imagination and attention to detail that goes into that process. No wonder these are some of the most magical places on earth. Everything is engineered to the human experience.

Contains photos from WDW, Disneyland, Disneyland Paris and Tokyo, and sketches and models of some attractions never built. Shows the entire process from conception of an idea to developing color schemes, to building models, to actual contstruction.

The Best Guide to the Debate
Since the publication of Michael Doyle's piece on Liberalism and Democracy in 1983, the debate over the democratic piece has been one of the most vigorous in the field of International Relations. This volume includes all the major works on the subject, including Doyle's original piece, as well as his latest thinking. Also included are John Owen's perceptual explanation of the democratic piece, and David Spiro's brilliant quantitative critique of it. For those looking to understand the debate, it is clearly the best body of work yet in print. The only drawback is that the debate seems to be tapped out; there is little new to contribute, and some feel enough has been said already and we need to move in directions.

It can't get any better than this
In essense, this is a response to the prior review. I agree with everything but the last line which I will paraphrase: what has been said has been said about the democratic peace proposition and theorists need to move on. The last chapter of this book, contributed by Michael Doyle, outlines future paths that research of the DPT can continue, and considering that the U.S. government emphasizes the development of democracy in many of its foreign policy endeavers, sometimes with out success, it is imperative that more work be continued. This collaboration of essays provides an excellent starting point understand the debate, but further analysis is continuing. If you are intersted in the DPT, DO NOT END HERE!

An outstanding third offering. . .
. . .in E. Michael Jones' frontal assult on modernism!

In "Degenerate Moderns", Jones reveals how much of modern society was brought about by persons whose personal lives (and beliefs) could best be described as deviant. In "Dionysos Rising", he addresses certain trends in music which somewhat less success. In this volume, he takes on Walter Gropius and the Balhaus School of Design. The style is quite different from the previous two books and reads almost like a novel. In the book we learn how Gropius' own beliefs about sex, family, and religion (and his, shall we say, deviancies in these areas of life) influenced his architectural work.

A devastating critique of the International school of architecture in general, and Walter Gropius' work in particular.

Excellent! Read it and be enlightened.
I was fascinated by this incredibly revealing book.
E. Michael Jones is the author of other works
that "search and destroy" (in a manner of speaking)
the corrupt social and political views of many purveyors
of modern art forms, showing how they not only
result in (further!) lowered standards of moral
conduct, but also reflect the apostasy and debauchery
that are so often a staple in the lives of the men
who produce it. Here he takes on Walter Gropius
and his Bauhaus architectural movement of the
early 20th century. I love the way Jones has
structured it, to read swiftly, almost like a novel,
by how he continues to shift back and forth
between the time of Gropius' activity, and then
the modern day exigencies surrounding the hapless
victims (from Chicago to Poland) who have to actually
DWELL in these monstrosities
that were once considered so fashionable and chic.
Jones has cut right to the heart of the issue, by
revealing clearly how the static and cold style

of the buildings these avant garde architects promoted,
reflects perfectly the debased sexual morass
that Gropius and many of his colleagues
(Mies van der Rohe) found themselves
swallowed up in. I went to an arts academy when I was
younger, and had to read about the Bauhaus
and Gropius' work. I knew it was horrible
at the time, but couldn't articulate my views.
Now I can, thanks to Mr. Jones' book.
It should be read by everyone with the guts to
look modernism in its blackened eye and see it for
the moral bankruptcy it represents.

Medjugorje: The Untold Story
Published in Paperback by Fidelity Pr (1989)
Author: E. Michael Jones

Early account disputing validity of Medjugorje apparition
Perhaps the earliest English language account disputing the claim that the Blessed Virgin Mary is appearing at Medjugorje. Jones visits Medjugorje and concludes she isn't appearing, then chronicles the problems with the apparition and its adherents. His account is not dry and may infuriate those who are unequivocally committed to Medjugorje. Anyone interested in Medjugorje would be fortunate to locate a copy. For another treatment of the Medjugorje phenomenon and associated claims of other apparitions by the same author ten years after this early work, try his The Medjugorje Deception.

Finally, the Other Side of Medjugorje Devotees Ignore!!
Medjugorje is the biggest farce in the history of the Roman Catholic Church, and its easily-enthused devotees get hysterical if you even DARE suggest that the "apparitions" are not really from the Blessed Virgin Mary. The widespread disobedience to the calm and sound reason of the local bishops is the greatest proof that these events are not inspired by God. Advocates are always crying out about the "fruits" of Medjugorje... They conveniently ignore, however, the fruits of the wombs of 3 nuns impregnated by Medjugorje priests, and other pedophile priests who use Medjugorje as their sanctuary for themselves and their teenage lovers, for starters. Medjugorje will be squashed when the events of Garabandal will achieve their finality in the promised Warning and the Miracle.

An outstanding book. . .
. . .which exposes several of the "gods" of the 20th century for what they were.

The author certainly has an opinion -- there is no question about that -- but his opinioin seems quite justified by the bringing to light of the actual facts of the matter. Freud, Jung, Meade, and others started a cultural revolution in the world -- and we are still paying the price.

Not every reader will agree with every analysis (there were some I felt were stronger than others) -- but on the whole Mr. Jones carries off his thesis quite well. (As a point of interest, however, I'm not sure that his chapter on Martin Luther added strength to his argument.)

Required reading for anyone who practices Psychology.
This book is truely one of the greatest books written in the 20th century. Anyone who reads this book with an open heart will understand that he is responsible for his behavior. This book changed my life, forcing me to confront my own sinfulness. Jones explains more about human behavior in this one little book than all of the psychologists of the 20th century combined.

YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK!

The emperor has no clothes
Jones examines the lives of modern intellectual luminaries to show that their views often are mere reflections of their own sexual antics. After reading this book it's as hard to accept many popular intellectual theories at face value as it is to believe that the only thing on Bill Clinton's mind is the good of the country. Great reading that will stimulate your mind not your body.

Panoramic Study of the Sixties
How did the Quakers (intentionally or not) and the major foundations (quite intentionally) create a disrupted Catholic church in the 1960s? Dr. Jones uses his significant research ability and powerful writing skills to craft a very convincing argument. Rich foundations, working under a 501(c)(3) cloak, funded research into an "aesthetically acceptable" contraceptive to market to Catholics. This issued in the estrogen-progesterone pill, which was shilled by a Catholic physician, John Rock. At the same time, Fr. Hesburgh and other academics, hungering for the foundations' research money, set up Notre Dame and other universities as centers of dissent from traditional Christian (not just Catholic) teaching on artificial contraception.

The description of the destruction of Philadelphia's inner city by block-busting, intentionally engineered by East-coast liberals, is worth the price of the book.

What Really Happened in the 60s?
How did Charles Curran disrupt Catholic U? Why was block busting so effective in our inner cities? Why do we have so many gross movies? What ever happened to the Legion of Decency? How did we change from a nation under God to one where the only thing that government can't promote is religion? Where did the Supreme Court get its ideas? Where was the Catholic Church during the culture battles of the '60s? E. Michael Jones, the editor of Culture Wars magazine, went into archives of the Philadelphia archdiocese, focused on the role that John Cardinal Krol played in many of those battles, and based largely on primary sources, comes up with insightful answers to show how the revolution of the '60s transformed this country.

The End of Roman Britain

An excellent book, even if its main thesis misses
The great Classical historian Theodor Mommsen once said that Britain did not give up on Rome, but Rome gave up on Britain. Although Mommsen was technically correct in a legal or military sense, Jones would reverse this statement more generally, insisting that the Britons had expressly chosen to reject their Roman heritage. Jones correctly points out that the relatively small number of Anglo-Saxon immigrants could not by itself account for the collapse of Romanization in east Britain. He also does an excellent job of documenting the growing disenchantment of the Britons with the Roman Empire. Where he falters is in his failure to realize that the Britons were not unique in their disenchantment. Roman citizens throughout the west shared this attitude. Jones's discussion of St. Patrick exemplifies the flaw in his thesis: although born in Britain, Patrick spent his youth in Ireland, and was then educated and ordained in Gaul; many Patrician scholars, in fact, trace his special sense of mission to the influence of the contemporary Gallic Church. The reason why the British people today are divided between Celtic and Germanic nations (unlike their Romance cousins in France) lies not in a special failure of Roman civil institutions in Britain, but in the arrested development of the Christian Church in Britain; if more Briton-born Churchmen had St. Patrick's Gallic-learned dedication, the Britons might have earlier developed a national identity capable of surviving barbarian conquest, rather than having to wait for St. David in Wales and St. Kentigern in southwest Scotland. Jones's book is nonetheless well worth reading; although his main thesis misses, he does ably describe the sorry state of late Roman civil institutions in Britain (albeit correctly a microcosm, rather than a special case, in the west).
