This book is worth your time, I promise
Like others have said it, I say it too because it's true, reading this book makes you feel like you're there, seeing everything happen and actually sharing the same feelings with Margaret. I couldn't have read a more touching story as this one. I highly recommend you all read it because I am SURE you will enjoy it. The whole book is about Kathi's life (Margaret's daughter). Kathi was a very special person and a great great loss to her family and to all who knew her. But in return for Kathi's tragic death so many other people have turned to God and that's what Kathi wanted. Her dream came true. reading this book will surely make you think twice about your relationship with God and will give you the motivation to improve it.
Thank you Kathi for the great examples you have set in your life and thank you Margaret for publishing your daughter's life and sharing it with the world.

Again I recommend this book to everyone, please read it.
God bless you all

A must-read for everyone of all ages!!!
This was an absolutely wonderful bitter-sweet book. Kathi's zest for life and spirit just lept from the pages. She had such a gift for leading lost souls to God. She wasted no time with her short life on this earth. Some of us never have the pleasure of meeting someone on this earth that touch us so deeply and make such a difference in our lives. Those that Kathi touched were so blessed to have known her. It's so amazing that even in death, Kathi, through her mother, Margaret, is still leading people to God. What a legacy! God bless you, Margaret, for having the courage and strength to tell Kathi's story so that others may benefit from it. This is a great book to read if your looking for a heart-warming story. You are sure to find a blessing in this book.

Entertaining, inspiring, highly recommended reading.
Berber is an orphaned lamb who thinks he is 'human" because his adoptive-mother is human and has white hair just like his wool coat. Berber: A Lamb's Tale is an utterly charming and original story told from Berber's point-of-view and details his many escapades with the other farm creatures. Margaret Johnson, drawing upon her many years of raising all manner of animals, has written an entertaining, inspiring, highly recommended story for young readers that is enhanced throughout with full-color illustrations.

Absolutely Precious
Berber is absolutely precious. This is a childs book that adults can enjoy. You will read it over and over to your children.

It's a hit!
I absolutely loved this book. It is a great story for children, but one that the adults will love to read to them. (and after they go to bed read it to themselves). Margaret clearly loves and understands animals, and has a lot to share about them. Especially enjoyable is how she tells the story from the lamb's view, and you know, I think she did know exactly what the lamb was thinking. It's a great story with a great message and I hope that many more people have a chance to read it. ADD IT TO YOUR SHOPPING CART!

Detroit's Eastern Market
Margaret Thomas and Lois Johnson did a splendid job writing "Detroit's Eastern Market". I found the book a delight because I not only shopped there many times but when I was a young I sold produce there grown on my Uncles farm in Northville, MI.. I tried some of the recipes and again I was very impressed. I conceder myself a friend of Margaret and hope to have my copy of her book signed soon and cook a dish from the book for her too.

Detroit's Eastern Market : A Farmers Market Shopping and Cooking Guide
I also as the first reviewer know the authors Lois Johnson and Margaret Thomas. Their approach to writing to me is as fresh as the produce found in the market. I was extremely lucky recently to be part of a tour of the market led by them. Their enthusiasm for the subject is very evident first hand as is their obvious repoire with the traders who generally greet the authors with smiles and hugs. The whole experience I felt was very worthwhile as is reading the book. It has become a stock "Detroit" gift, when I go back to England I take copies for my family and friends who delight in this little piece of Americana.

A great shopping and cooking guide to a Detroit jewel
Sure, Margaret Thomas is a good friend of mine, but I can still manage to be objective. This is a really great book.

Set out as a walking guide to the Market, the text is clear and informative, but maintains a friendly, informal style, just as if you are walking along with the authors in the Market. You will learn about the Market's nearly 200 year history, meet the store owners and get some great recipes while on your "walk". Of course, all the ingredients can be found right in this open air marketplace.

Michigan is a four season state, and this market is open in all seasons, not just summer. A section featuring 8 full menus is organized by seasons-A spring Mediterranean feast features lamb, summer brings fresh salads, autumn has satisfying soups, and a winter highlight is veal scaloppine.

In the index, you will also find individual recipes from appetizers to vegetables (more than 25 unique offerings for vegetables alone) The recipes come from shop owners, employees, farmers, dealers, shoppers and restaurant owners, as well as the authors themselves. Wonderful color photos by Bruce Harkness capture the hustle and bustle of the Eastern Market, and spotlight fresh Michigan Produce.

Like the market itself, this book is "highly useful, convenient and beneficial".

Wonderful!
Margaret Johnson has struck gold again. This book is a wonderful journey through the world of New Irish cooking. The pictures are breathtaking. These are recepies you will want to try out in your own home! Thanks again Mrs. Johnson for keeping us close to Ireland.

Welcome to the Irish family!
Margaret Johnson's latest book is a visual and culinary delight! Through her wonderfully ethnic recipes, Margaret invites all readers into her Irish family. My family usually has an italian course during its holiday celebrations, but Margaret's fare has inspired me so much that I am going to recommend that the red-sauced staples are replaced by the the delacacies outlined in this wonderful work (I just hope my mother-in-law agrees). Margaret--thank you for opening my eyes to this cuisine...you are an emerald jewel of Ireland!

A must buy!!
I have been a fan of Margaret Johnson for many years now and her latest publication is her best yet! The beautiful pictorial presentation of this book is bested only by Margaret's poetic descriptions of Irish fare. The irish tastes described by Margaret will transform the reader (and chef) to the emerald isle. It is a journey that anyone with an ounce of irish blood cannot miss! The "irishcook" has done it again!! This book is a must have!!

Like Romance? You'll Love This One!
Best-selling author, Margaret Johnson, has spun a heartbreaking, heartwarming romantic saga in this affordable paperback you will most certainly want to add to your easy-reading library. "After the Storm" is not only an intriguing, confounding blend of lovable and not-so-lovable characters, but Johnson clearly distinguishes between upright and shady behaviours and motivations, and leaves the reader convinced that the price of "upright" is never too high. This is an exceedingly well-crafted, light & lively romance novel with a profound and sobering Christian message.

What a plot!
Thank you, Margaret, for sending me "After the Storm." What a suspenseful book! I appreciate the way you presented your MAIN subject without being stuffy or unrealistic.

Good for both the novice and experienced
My organization has been involved in process improvement for several years. I found this book to be very interesting, as we have experienced many of the missteps mentioned. I found this book to be very helpful in mapping out strategies for establishing and tracking your organization's process improvement approach. I also appreciated the examples of process, procedures, policies, and plans; as well as the difference between them and the reasons why they are needed, as my organization had struggled with these documentation issues. The later chapters dealing with statistical control and higher maturity provided me with a clear understanding of these concepts and how to institute them in my organization. I would recommend this book to anyone in process improvement. It works not only for the novice, but also the experienced process improvement specialist.

Not just a re-hash of the CMMI
I am a university professor and am often asked to review books dealing with technical subjects. I enjoyed reading this book because the authors present their points cogently and offer step-by-step approaches toward resolving business issues. I also found the statistical process control, metrics, and higher maturity chapters to be interesting and entertaining. The authors take the reader through several different techniques that can be found in organizations, summarize each, and then demonstrate which methods they find to be the most often used, and most easily understood. While I am not a process improvement specialist, I feel that anyone who is assigned these duties could benefit from this book. This is not just another re-hash of the CMMI.

The Witness

Dynamite Read
Jenny Lansing receives a telephone call from her father, Phillip, who is part of the Witness Protection Program. Phillip wants his daughter to bring him an envelope to Los Angeles. Determined to leave the program, flee to another country, and start a new life, Phillip puts his daughter in immeasurable danger.

Stalked by members of the Chicago Mob, for whom her father was holding money, Jenny heads to L.A., in the company of FBI Special Agent Alex Kendall. Before she can meet her father she and Alex are accosted by the hit man, sent to take care of her and her father, and her briefcase, containing the precious envelope, is stolen. Phillip is kidnapped and Jenny and Alex are trapped when a tremendous earthquake strikes. In spite of the trials, Jenny is determined to rescue her father but her determination is challenged by her growing attraction to Alex.

Tightly woven, THE WITNESS is a dynamite read. Margaret Johnson gives readers a peek into the enclaves of the Federal Witness Protection Program as well as into the workings of the mob. Alex and Jenny are immediately attracted to one another, but have little time to persue their relationship deeply because of the constant hurdles thrown into their paths.

I only had one teensy little gripe, which probably won't phase most readers. Ms Johnson called The Magnificent Mile (Chicago's Michigan Avenue) Michigan Boulevard. As a former Chicagoan that jumped out at me. Other than that one gaffe I found THE WITNESS a quick, enjoyable read. There are definite inspirational themes, however they in no way overshadow, or overpower, the enjoyable suspense theme.

Margaret Johnson is the author of ten books, including EIGHTEEN NO TIME TO WASTE, the story of her daughter, Kathi, who was killed in an automobile accident. If you have teenagers be sure and include a copy of EIGHTEEN in their Christmas stockings. It may change their lives.

Grab Your Seatbelt!
Fasten your seatbelt and hang on as Philip Lansing fulfills a deadly vow, catapulting himself and his daughter Jenny into a fast- paced dance with the Mafia and the Witness Protection Program. Can FBI Agent Alex Kendall protect Jenny in their cross-country race against time? Will a catastrophic earthquake destroy their growing relationship?

In The Witness, Margaret Johnson employs crisp dialogue, vivid descriptions, and riveting lead-ins to create a strong flow between chapters. She introduces characters in snapshot fashion until they merge into one finale. No loose ends. No wasted moments.

The Witness-read it!

Filled with suspense
The Witness is an exciting read from beginning to end. Only a skilled author could weave the themes so carefully as well as keep the pace moving. Her characters are real. The message within the story is one you'll need to discover for yourself. I highly recommend this book.

*Couldn't put it down!*
This is the 4th novel I've read by Margaret Johnson-Hodge. A New Day is an excellent sequel to The Real Deal in that we find out what happens with Samone and Jeff, yet still leaves the focus on Max and Carol-Anne. I found myself really feeling the pain of Carol-Anne's struggles and the evolving relationship with Nadia. She was so used to making a way for her child and didn't truly know how to accept Max's help and his lifestyle/expectations. She ultimately learns how to get the best of both worlds, but not without going through hard times. The relationship between Carol-Anne and her mother was very intense. A New Day will make you laugh, think & it will tug at your heartsrtings. I couldn't put it down. When you read MJH, its like being right there with the characters. She writes beautifully. CLB.

A LESSON ON HOW TO LOVE YOURSELF
A New Day the sequel to The Real Deal starts like a story book, two souls looking for love. But Max and Carol-Ann bring so much baggage to the table, they had me wondering 'who's zooming who'? Max Scutter, 36, single, very successful, is lost and hurting. He is afraid of marriage, children, and has "I'm not ready", engraved on his forehead. One mistake cost him the love of his life and his unborn child. He meets Carol-Ann and her eight year old daughter, does a 360 degree turn and wants to be their Knight in armor, but Max still loves Samone. Carol-Ann is 38, a single mother, has always lived in the basement of life, has never felt loved or needed, all she's ever felt, is not good enough. She learned from her mother that children out of wedlock was ok, so Carol dates her boss, gets pregnant on purpose and quits her job. For eight years she's lived in Spanish Harlem between condemned buildings, struggling to make ends meet. But, Carol never brought closure to her relationship. Then, she meets Max and when he offers a solution, she accepts and moves in with him. She soon resents Max for trying to make her fit his life style and she's on the move again, she just can't get it right. Max has now decided to be a player, and Carol is prostituting herself with her ex, for child support. But they both know their lives can't live here, they need to take a timeout, take a nap and wake to a new day.

Ms J-Hodge, creates her characters with such realism, you don't just read the story, you share it. I love that she doesn't take her characters back, she allows them to look back, but with a gentle hand, she pushes them forward. Some books tend to linger, for me, A New Day is one of them.

The RAW Reviewers

A GREAT READ!
I could not put this book down. The book continues the story of Max and Carol Ann,(The Real Deal)this time from Carol Ann's perspective. The author retells some of the events and it's really interesting how the characters perceive situations and the way they really are. Normally in relationship novels we have upwardly mobile characters dating the same in this book we have handsome loving and strong Max who has made it and tries to help Carol Ann who is working hard but is still struggling. I really like the writing style Ms. Hodge certainly has a way with words.
