Extremely helpful
I bought a number of guides to Australia and studied each before leaving. They were all helpful in planning my trip, but Australia Handbook stood out for its coverage of the country in general as well as all the usual hotel and restaurant recommendations. As well as balancing this coverage, I found the book to be up to date and, with everywhere I traveled, anyway, coverage was thorough. Many guidebooks I have used in the past concentrate on the big cities, but this one led me further afield to the kind of places only locals would usually know about. By the end of my trip I was relying almost entirely on it for places to stay and eat, and couldn't find a fault in the choices provided.

I highly recommend this book to anyone traveling to Australia.

A great book to a great country
We purchased this book before leaving for a six-week trip Downunder. It contained all the information we needed for pretrip planning as well as wealth of information on the country itself. Once in Australia I found it an indispensible aid for choosing what we wanted to see in the limited time we had. The accommodations and restaurants recommended were also spot on, and it was obvious to us as soon as we started traveling that the book is extremely well-researched.

Australia is truly a wonderful place, so it may sound cliched, but this book really helped make our trip everything we had dreamt of. I highly reccomend this book to anyone heading Downunder. It is well worth the investment.

The Best of All!
I bought several traveler information type books before my transcontinental trip to Australia last year. This was BY FAR the best! After only a few days, I "packed" the others away.

Truly great book
I have several dog books, but this is my favorite. It has lots of wonderful color pictures of the dogs, and detailed information on each breed. An excellent book for dog lovers, as well as an exceptional refrence for anyone researching dog breeds for themselves.

Good info about breeds, lots of good pictures.
This book has alot of information about each breed but not alot of general dog information. Thats what I liked about it. It has alot of breeds listed, with 4 of 5 photos of each one. It describes the AKC standard, health problems, and characteristics of each breed. A great coffee table book for dog lovers.

Great! Covers breed temperaments; owner suitability; health
A MUST read for prospective owners & current ones. Best features: breed specific behaviors; potential health problems of each breed; owner suitability: hard to find all this in one book! Covers all AKC as well as other breeds. Easy to read, good color photos. Emphasizes the importance of knowing the basics of each breed so you can find a good match for both you and the dog! Or learn more about the dog you now have!

the best
We run a vocational school to teach people to become professional dog trainers and we recommend this book to all of our students. It covers all breeds (not just AKC breeds), and covers just about everything about dogs including basic medical info. Great for dog lovers and professionals alike. Lots of color pictures and very organized and easy to use/find info.

The book on dogs.
If you are a dogs-lover (like me), and want to know every important information on all the dog breeds, them this is the book for you. Well, that's it: the really most complete book ever on dogs. A most usefull work to have at your library.

General Andrew Lewis
I agree that great men have been neglected in the overtures of history, such as General Lewis. However, he is intered at East Hill Cemetary just above downtown Salem, VA.

Gen. Andrew Lewis of Roanoke and Greenbrier by Johnson
I really enjoyed this book after searching for it for years! The General was one of my ancestors. My Gr. Grandmother was Samantha Lewis Westfall. It was a well researched book. However, the General's burial is in Hampton W. Va. As a small child I used to put flowers on his grave. This is near Buckhannon W.Va. I feel the same way that Johnson does, that so many greats were ignored while too much attention was paid to George Washington. General Lewis was at the very least, equal to Washington during and before the revolutionary way. A great book for history buffs!

Light from the darkness of tragedy
This is the story of Andrew Stanar Johnson. Born into an Orthodox Christian family, he was a huge joy to his parents, who truly adored this precious child. However, his family's joy would turn to despair as, shortly after his sixth birthday, he is killed in an accident.

This book is an account of Andrew's life as well as an account of how his family, with the help of God, try to struggle through their loss. Andrew was a child who was completely convinced in the reality of God and His work all around us, and the knowledge that the end of one's earthly life need not mean "The End". Through their pain and suffering, Andrew's parents slowly begin to redouble their efforts to listen to what God is saying, and it is through this that they are able to continue on in hope, in faith, and in love.

Very Inspirational
This book tells a story of tragedy and suffering, but also of strength and faith in God. This books gives meaning and insight into the death of a young child. Make sure you have tissues nearby when you start reading this book. This book was hard to put down, read it from front to back in one sitting.

Lung cancer- a review
Pass' book is excellent, well-written, and comprehensive. It is one of the first books patients and family members should go to, though they should be cautioned that the book is written for a medical audience. Skip the first two chapters on mollecular biology which are far too technical, and go to some of the other chapters written in a detailed but comprehensive fashion. This book will prove exceptionally useful, but tough reading for many, so keep a medical dictionary and encylopedia nearby.

An excellent resource for lung cancer clinicians and patient
This second edition is an excellent, readable resource that makes few assumptions about the reader's familiarity with lung cancer, molecular biology, or cancer genetics. Contains many entirely new chapters as well as carefully updated material from the first edition. Geared to oncologists and researchers, but nonetheless a good foundation resource for patients and families who wish to learn a great deal about lung cancer and its management.

Excellent for students and practitioners
Teachers, administrators, human service personnel are often encouraged to be engaged in action research. However, obtaining a sound, thorough but readable text to assist such professionals in conducting action research has been very difficult. This book fills this void wonderfully. The book lays out the steps of action research, provides practical examples all in a way that is scholastically sound but engaging and interesting reading. No mean feat for any book on research! I would highly recommend this for working practitioners and for guides for students involved in masters and even doctoral projects associated with action research. An excellent resource!!

practical, well-written, concise.
Finally, a book about action research that gets right to the point. It provides a good overview of action research in the context of other research paradigms. It describes many very simple and practical methods for collecting data. It can be used with a thesis or dissertation as well as short research projects.

I thought the book was absoulutly thriling.
I think the book 'Alien Enciclopedia" is the best book I've ever read.It has everythink about real aliens,t.v. aliens, alien investigations such as Telly tubbies,Mulder and Scully,The Blob,Mr Spot I like the book because it has a great way of making pictures in you're head of aliens.Every second of the book fills you with more and more imformation.Andrew Donkin is my second best author because he has such a creative mind.'Alien Enciclopedia' is the best book I've ever read.Soon as I picked the book up I could not put it down. The reason I liked the book is because it was about aliens and was one of those books where there was no boaring bits.It just increased better and better. The book doe's not scare me and I don't intend to be scared but the illustrations are very spine chilling.I think the illustrations are increasingly amazing!I would recomend this book to people who are into astronomy and like to be suprised!Andrew Donkin has met my class and me and I think he is a top ten author!Plus,I think the illustrations are top ten to!I have read 'Bugman' which is another book Andrew Donkin wrote and I'd give that book seven out of ten.Alien Enciclopedia is the best book in the U.K... Thats what I think any way!!!!!!! Like I say again Andrew Donkins book'Alien Enciclopedia is the best book I've ever read and I wish him well in the future! The next book Andrew Donkin writes I will certainly buy it.

extremely helpful, especially for the Midwest US and Canada
Ms. Johnson writes from a Canadian background. The plants and gardens are very adapted to the Midwest, and most could easily be duplicated there. Other areas are represented, but gardeners in the Midwest would benefit the most from using this book. The photos show actual, easily achieveable, garden results. This book might help someone make up their mind whether this is "the look" they will
like in their garden. I hope many people decide they like it, because it is a low-maintenance, environmentally-friendly, water-conserving approach to having the most envied garden on the block!
