Christmas Gifts, Christmas Voices (The Eric Sanders Saga)
Published in Paperback by Echo Canyon Books (15 August, 1996)
Author: John S Allen

A book that reads like a poem
Allen doesn't waste a single word in his holiday tale of hope and comfort. Christmas stories sometimes tend to be syrupy or fluffy. But not so with "Christmas Gifts, Christmas Voices" The story is hard hitting but ultimately heartwarming.

Allen's style is disarmingly simple, yet sophisticated. He makes his points (which are many and profound) with a few words as possible. He implies, he infers...and he leaves it to the reader to connect the dots.

When I was finished reading the book,I felt as if I had read a long, lyrical poem.

I have to admit I shed a couple of tears at various places in the book.

I recommend this book for holiday reading...and inspirational reading throughout the year.

A Great New Christmas Book
I'm no fancy pants reveiwer, I'm just an everyday reader who loves books. And I think John Allen's Christmas Gifts, Christmas Voices is a gem. Allen's prose reads almost like poetry. His writing is restrained, lyrical, and heart-felt. There isn't an unecessary word in the whole book.

I couldn't put the book down...I highly recommend it.

A ChristmasTradition For Me
I am going to read this book every Christmas. I wasn't expecting much when I began reading this book.

But when I was finsihed I had a greater appreciation for my family, for life, and for the blessings of service...Yeah...all from this little book.

I'm going to read this book every Christmas from now on. And I highly recommend it to one and all.

Uniting Church and Home, A Blueprint for Rebuilding Church Community

Authors: Eric E. Wallace and John H. White

Excellent book filled with wisdom and insight!
Over the past few years, my husband and I have been growing in our uncomfortableness with the way our church and most churches have organized themselves. Without understanding why, or what it was we were sensing, we began to discover that what we were growing to want and believe in, was something very different than what contemporary churches were offering. We treasure our family, and wanted to find a way to worship, learn and grow together, not just at home, but in our church as well.

The segration of ages was disturbing to us because of what we were seeing happen. We couldn't put a finger on it, but something didn't feel right.

After reading this book, we were so encouraged! Most people didn't understand what we tried to explain to them because they had never felt like anything was wrong with the current way of doing things. And unfortunately, most still don't.

This book clearly lays out the very things we had been trying to understand, and gives great biblical insight into why we need to become churches that are uniting families, and not pulling them away from each other.

I could never even begin to explain how much reading this book meant to us, or how much it taught us. Our prayer now, is that someone, somewhere in our community will be receptive to the ideas in the book, and desire to become a church that doesn't segregate, but joins families together in worship and learning.

Eric Wallace has written a tremendous book that I hope you will read!

A phenomenal read!
What a blessing to find a book that verbalizes the very things we have been feeling for so many years! The household approach to worship, teaching and ministery is exactly what is needed to bring our families back to living out their faith together in a manner that witnesses to the world.

It was with such relief that we read this book. Churches need to support the role of the families, and families in turn need to support the church. When these two are working to build each other up, a beautiful relationship that doesn't pull the family away from each other, but toward each other will result.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book to any family, household and pastor that senses a need for a different kind of balance between church and home, one that brings the family together AND stimulates the life of their church, all while eliminating segregation between the ages and encourages biblical roles and responsibilities.

A much needed work for both families and churches!
Wallace brings to the forefront real solutions to issues that both churches and families deal with in our dis-integrated culture today. This book puts into words thoughts that I have had for 10 years as a father and pastor.

Why Is It Called ¿The $50,000 Business Makeover Marathon¿?
After listening to this series and applying what I've learned I have a few reasons why master copywriter and business consultant Drew Eric Whitman selected the title.

Maybe it relates to the fact that I would have paid $50,000 to him and the 10 other experts that have literally super-charged my business and increased profits. And at that price, it would have been a steal.

Or maybe the $50,000 references what average business owners can add to their annual profits after listening. I know in my case, $50,000 would be a low estimate for the increase in business I expect over the course of the next year as a direct result of listening to this course.

Whatever the reasoning behind the title, in my opinion this is material that every person running or thinking of starting a business should own. It delivers essential business and marketing information (some of which I've never heard before but works almost like magic), and it spoon feeds it to you in such a way that you not only completely understand it, but you're excited and can't wait to start applying it to your business immediately.

I've had many nights where I've only grabbed a few eyefuls of sleep since owning this. But I want to thank Drew Eric for giving me the information and motivation to get in and do something that's responsible for literally putting more money in my pocket while making it fun.

Who is this Drew Eric Whitman? And how can he help me?

Those were my thoughts as I read his captivating ad for The $50,000 Business Makeover Marathon. I was spell bound. And you will be too.

Being an adventureous sort, as all entrepeneurs are, I decided to take the plunge and purchase it. You know what? It was everything he said it would be, and more!

Drew, if you read this, thank you. We may never meet but you have changed my life and business.

After listening and putting into action many of the tips(lessons, really) I have seen an amazing change in my professional and personal affairs.

I own six other tape programs on sales and marketing and this one is unique. Get it now. While you're thinking about it.

Better hurry. Your competition may already have this.

Yours in Success,

Energetic, Interesting, Motivating, VALUABLE.
I confess to buying too many business tapes. I am also too often disappointed by the quality of the production as well the content.

THESE tapes, however, are fantastic. The speakers are all interesting to listen to - not boring. No fluff. Recorded in a studio, so you can ALWAYS hear the speakers. The topics will be valuable to any small to medium size busines owner or marketing executive who wants to expand and grow their business.

You may have heard SOME of this material before, but you haven't heard ALL of it -- and it's all in one powerful package.

IMHO, it's worth a listen -- again and again.

Awesome!
I met one of the contributors (Micha) and heard him speak. I bought the book from him and read it. It was really great. It talks about the stuff that teens deal with.

This book is absolutly excelent!
If you need a book that deals with stuff that teens are going through, this is the book. It contains solid advice from motivational speakers from around the world. I suggest you read this book.

It gives Chicken Soup for Teens a run for their money.
As a co-author to this book, I must admit I am biased. But, I would not have gotten involved if I did not think this is a book every teen must have. With a collection of youth speakers from across the United States, it is a collection of hilarious and touching stories from a variety of very different authors. This is the original in a series of four and it truly helps teens get the power to do what is positive. If you have any questions, just email me!

A solid companion for parents who help with homework
Let's admit it...all parents help out with homework. Sometimes the help is simply altruistic, other times it is to meet a glaring deadline and of course there are times we just want to make sure everything is done right. To this end, "The Reader's Companion to American History," is a solid companion for parents who pitch in and help their kids finish their homework. It is also a valuable source to make sure our kids are not cutting corners.

This book has it all...brief entries, articles, essays, maps, tables, bibliographies, thorough cross-references and a big-time index. If you want to find out facts about political, economic, social and cultural history, editors Eric Foner & John Garraty do a splendid job. Moreover, the first-class collection of nearly four hundred contributions from eminent scholars, biographers and journalists is very impressive.

Name it...James Monroe (fifth president of the United States), Marilyn Monroe, The Monroe Doctrine...its all there. This book is great to have around during crunch time on homework. It is reliable and easy to use. Its big and heavy and not easy to carry around but when it comes to your kid's education...its worth its weight in gold.

Wonderful for Skimming and Quick Overviews
Although I've only read a small fraction of this delightful reference work, I'm quite grateful to own it. It allows you to quickly research difficult topics, check the veracity of a book, and follow your intellectual curiousity.
For example, I recently watched a biography of Frederick Douglass, the 19th century abolitionist. That revitalized my interest in the fiery orator and the abolitionist movement. The Reader's Companion contains a concise, yet in-depth profile that emphasizes Douglass' insights into the roots and consequences of racism in the 19th century.
This hefty reference work, featuring the work of respected scholars should be used by anyone enrolled in a United States History course, professional historians, and amateur historians.
There is also enough balance that you can easily detect the biases of various writers.

a superb guide to assist one in the study of history
the book is invaluable as it is quite difficult to read any history book and know every subject or person involved in the reading. Therefore, the reader's companion is a great source when doing history projects or simply reading history. One does not need to pull out all his encyclopedias or go online to find out who a person in his or her reading is. For any student, especially those of history, this book comes highly recommended. The exerpts are detailed, yet not too lengthy, and provide enough bacground for the average researcher.

Your Hands Can Heal You
This is a well written and well researched book. Your Hands Can Heal You covers most types of healing modalities and looks into what works and how, to give an insightful look at healing. Through this book you can learn how to heal yourself, loved ones and stay healthy. The book explores breathing and physical exercises to keep you healthy and young. What is unique to this book's approach is that it is thoroughly researched and explained as to how alternative healing works and how anyone can do it themselves.I am not a born healer, but through this book I have been able to "heal" insect bites to migraines, and understand how this has worked. There are many healers out there who can heal but do not understand how they heal. Through this book I have been able to heal and understand how by understanding the principles of the body's energetic health and functioning. I strongly recommend this to everyone, from all walks of life as an at home manual to good health and long life.

The principles contained in this book are lifechanging
We have studied with Master Stephen Co for over a year, and have integrated the methods outlined in this book into our lives. We first sought alternative healing methods for our daughter who had a medical condition that conventional medicine was unable to solve. Learning pranic healing empowered us to heal her, and it has also opened up a spiritual framework, a way of looking at the universe, that has changed our lives forever. The simple meditations, breathing techniques and salt baths offered in the book have become part of our daily routine. We are calm, centered, and in excellent health. We gave this book to all our friends and family over the holidays, wanting to share the good fortune this book has brought us. I highly recommend it to anyone who wishes to learn how to heal themselves and their loved ones, advance their healing techniques, or simply to raise their awareness of the vast power we all posess that leads us to true happiness and fulfillment. Your Hands Can Heal You is the family health handbook of the new millenium.

Your Hands Can Heal You
One of the most fabulous reads ever! Turning pages you realize what you have always known but couldn't quite put your finger on - what makes people sick, how to prevent it and how to fix it! I highly recommend this book for those who have illnesses that doctors couldn't quite diagnose or cure. And best yet, using the techniques taught in this book will allow you to show your friends and family love in a way they have probably never known before - through the gift of healing that is within us all.

Chemical and Biological Warfare: A Comprehensive Survey for the Concerned Citizen

Everything You Ever Wanted To Know!
* Eric Croddy's CHEMICAL & BIOLOGICAL WARFARE is subtitled
"A Comprehensive Survey For The Concerned Citizen", and that
is no idle boast. This book tells the reader just about
everything about chemical and biological warfare that he or
she might want to know, to a level of knowledge appropriate
to the intelligent layperson. It provides chapters on
historical background, chemical and biological weapons
technology, and policy issues.

In fact, if I have any criticism of this book, it may be
that it is a bit too much of a good thing. It might have
been a bit more focused and readable if cut to half its
length, and it also comes across almost as a "handbook"
on the subject in terms of detail, style, and organization.
It certainly not written in a novelistic style, and it
is not exactly a casual read, though by no means
impenetrable either or tiresomely long.

That's just a warning to readers about what they're biting
off on if they pick up this book. Mr. Croddy spells out in
the subtitle that this is a "comprehensive survey" and, yep,
it's written in the form of a survey, and it is as
comprehensive as possible and then some. It meets its goals
very well, and if you're looking for the true straight dope
on this subject and a good reference work, look no farther
because I can't imagine you could find better material
on the subject than this.

I have to admit Mr. Croddy really did his homework. A
particular eye-opener was the picture of the pre-WWII gas
mask designed for children by Disney, in the form of Mickey
Mouse's head. I had to admit it was a clever way to get
small children to put on a gas mask, in fact you might have
trouble persuading them to take it off, but it had a certain
grotesque black humor to it as well.

By the way, I have written up some notes on this book
and others on chemical and biological warfare. You might find
them useful before going onto something more serious like this.
Drop me a line if you're interested.

The key issues related to chemical and biological warfare
Chemical And Biological Warfare analyzes the key issues related to chemical and biological warfare, detailing known chemical and biological agents, how they may be used in weaponry, and the possibilities of their use in modern conflicts. Readers seeking a technical survey of proliferation and basic concepts of chemical and biological weaponry receive more in-depth information here than in many titles.

Essential
A first class presentation of Chem/Bio warfare basics. Highly recommend it.

Amazing collectable, great read
Got this after a desire to collect the 9-11 comics as my ending run in comic collecting, and I must say I am impressed with not only the size of it, but the consitent and diverse work inside. Loads of unfamiliar work that perhaps wouldn't be seen on such a public level with such quality, and at 200 pages for the price its at, its damn good.

The stories themselves? Some make you think. Some make you wonder. All make you remember.

Heartfelt Tales of September 11th and it's Aftermath
There's really not much I can say about this book. The stories contained in it are poignant and touching and heartbreaking and hopeful all at once, and each and every contributor has given not only their time and talent to the project, but clearly they've also given a piece of their hearts. Being born and raised in New York City, the events of September 11th are especially painful to me, but I came away from reading this book feeling just a little more hopeful than I did when I started it. Kudos to all involved for a magnificent effort. (And all of the money goes to a good cause, too!)

Personal Takes on a Tragic Event
The power of the comic book medium is that, by using drawings, they express emotions and reactions that are difficult to put down in words. Due to the extreme nature of this event, this is an excellent way to express what we have all been through.

The most impact is provided by the independent, i.e. non-superhero, writers who express what they went through with pictures and words. From the initial shock to the lingering malaise, the complete cycle is expressed. Reading this book brought back those feelings in me and, even though my emotions were swelling up, I kept reading. This event is now part of our collective experience and we are forever affected by it.

I recommend reading through when you need some perspective on what's important in life. Enjoy life, tell your friends and family that you love them because you never know when it may end.

This review doesn't get too into the content of the book but the impact that it had. As for me, that's the sign of a good read.
