A must have
I am a Pediatric Oncology Nurse that buys these books to give to the newly diagnosised families. All of them have told me that it is a wonderful tool.

It explains all
This book was recommended to me after my daughter was diagnosed with nueroblastoma. It explains it all. The book is broken down by topic (ie radiation and chemotherepy) and also by tumor.
The language used was easy to understand. The book was my map through the world of childhood cancer.

Best resource available about kids with cancer!
If you have found yourself catapulted into the nightmare of having a child with cancer, this book will help you to understand much of the journey to come. No matter what stage your child is in treatment...beginning, middle, finished treatment, relapsed, or palliative...this book is an indispensible resource. Personal stories peppered throughout the book help you come to realize that you are not alone in this battle. This book also has a wonderful list of resources to help families through this hard time. Buy one for yourself, family members (especially in-laws!), your child's pediatrician, your child's teacher, and your closest friends so they can have a glimpse into what you and your child are facing and can help you along the way. This book should be given to EVERY parent when they hear those horrible words, "Your child has cancer..."

Valuable Resource
Widowing, Surviving the First Year, belongs in every church and doctor's office as a ready handout. In no nonsense style it offers a framework for dealing with the trauma of loosing a spouse. It covers the 'how tos' which bother us. How to cope, to grieve, to understand and to take the next steps to getting on with life are all covered in practical detail.

The book is sensative and supporting.

It is also a book for men who are living through the loss of a wife.

Professionally we give this book 5 stars. As a couple that have both lost partners we can only add our thanks to the many who praise this book.

A Must For A New Widow
I don't know what I would have done without this life-saving guidebook. Its practical suggestions and down to earth advice helped me to get control of my life when I was overwhelmed with grief. I will be forever thankful that I found this book when I needed it so much.

WOW! Finally, A Five Star Book About Widowing
This book is so helpful that it should be given to a new widow as soon as possible! They need it when all their family or friends have gone and they are coping all alone. A great gift.

Clear, informative, and easily read
As the first-time parent of a 17 month old child, I'm no stranger to nutritional eating for adults, but absolutely clueless as to the same for children... especially for the most finicky child (MINE!). This book helped to explain methodology of eating, essential childhood vitamins and nutrients, and age by age explanations of eating behavior and nutrition. I bought a few other children's nutrition books along with this one (such as the one from American Academy of Pediatrics), and I definitely found this one the most helpful. The chapter format allows you to read only the chapters that pertain to your child. Complete with recipes! I have yet to try them, but they look delicious.

Excellent reference for parents and childcare workers.
One of the books that should be on any parent's shelves. Easy to read, but detailed.

Easy to understand and educational!
I felt like I was back in high school science. All the things that I learned, flooded back to me. Now I feel a lot more confident in selecting foods for my kids and label reading. I'm very happy that I found this book.

Cracked Corn and Snow Ice Cream
This precious book caught my eye mainly because of the "snow ice cream" in the title! How fondly I remember my mother scooping up great heaps of freshly fallen snow to make that wonderful treat! And in this book we have the RECIPE!

I bought the book as a gift for a 10-year-old girl who lives on a farm, plus an extra copy for myself!

There are many, many wonderful thoughts, facts, pictures, and memories to beguile almost anyone, any age. Don't miss it!

Very Hometown!
I found this book to be very delightful. It brought back memories of my own great grandmother and the stories she told. The recipes and the helpful tips sounded a lot like the things my great grandma used to share. I found it to be refreshing and nostalgic. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to hear from the past the wisdom and the winsome.

The best short story collection I've ever read.
I read this short story collection and walked around the rest of the day in a daze. Nancy Kress managed to blow me away almost every time. I had loved her novels, but this was even better. She managed not to get caught in a rut while maintaining a consistency of quality that was amazing. If you want to know about technology and human nature, read this book. If you want to know how to write short stories, read this book. If you want to spend a pleasant hour, day, or week reading, read this book. Just read it. It's that good.

Poetic fun
It is amazing that poetry has sunk so far in value to our culture that much of it has to be packaged as books for children. In this wonderfully illustrated book, some of the best poems by Nancy Willard and Jane Yolen (both established authors of adult literature), all dealing with angels, have been collected. This book is a great way to introduce children to the complexities and fun of poetry, but is also a good book for adults who appreciate fine poetry.

I'd Like to Ask God
Published in Hardcover by Harvest House Publishers, Inc. (1995)
Authors: Nancy Spiegelberg and Jane E. Ray

A Must-Read for Every Christian Parent and Child!
Nancy Spiegelberg's "I'd Like to Ask God" belongs on the bookshelf of every parent, child, grandparent, and Sunday school teacher! Nancy's wonderful verse leads children to learn and ask about God and God's plans for us. She anticipates those curious questions that kids want to ask (and some adults would like to ask as well) and in a fun way, leads us along to learn what the Bible has to say in a way that even young children can understand. And if the writing isn't great alone, the supporting illustrations are worth the price of the book! Extremely age appropriate - they won't want you to stop reading! If you are looking for the perfect gift for your own child, grandchild, or a great baby shower gift for a Christian mom and dad, search no more. I could go on and on about how wonderful this book is, but just order it and see for yourself! It's worth three times the selling price . . . they don't get much better. And Nancy writes to "glorify God". Amen.

great pictures, fun finding mother
The vivid colorful pictures attracted me to this book and the nice story of the little fish looking for his mother kept us going back again and again. My daughter (2) loves to look for mother fish on each page. There is always a little part of mother fish to see - although little fish doesn't see her until the end. Sweet story and great pictures. One of our family favorites!

Ann Likes Red brings back memories.
Ann Likes Red was my sister's favorite book as a child. I read it to her so many times, I had it memorized. (Ann likes red; red, red, red). I look for it at old book sales and libraries. She just had her first daughter and I would love to find a copy as a gift.

I've preordered the book!
Ann Likes Red is the first book I remember reading, and I even remember much of the text 30-odd years later. ("Ann likes red, red, red, red. A blue dress for Ann? No, Ann likes red...") I had a daughter in March (my first), and I can't wait to share this book with her. I'm delighted it's being republished in October.
I'm now an editor who reads books for a living, so this book definitely started me on the right track!

I will always remember Ann likes Red
I always loved this book. My middle name is Anne and I always felt I had a connection to the little girl because our names were the same. I also made red my favorite color for the longest time because of this book. It is a great book for a little girl to read. If I ever have a daughter, this is on the book list for her.
