Airs & Graces
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! It reminded me of a Rosamunde Pilcher book. Thumbs up!
Airs & Graces
Enjoyable read. Hermione, Ellen's qirky neighbor was thehighlight of the novel and was the most developed character. However,James could have done so much more with the teenage mother and Mattthew character. Nevertheless, I enjoyed this novel tremendously!
Elegantly written novel
I enjoyed James' style of writing although it could be plain sometimes. The plot is very interesting, something that could happen to anyone (divorce, teenage mother, snobbish neighbors). It is one of those books you smile after you're done w/ the book. Definetely a good read!

A nice sampling
This cassette presents a excellent variety of thought on the mysterious concept of soul mates. Deepak Chopra, Thomas Moore, Barbara De Angelis, John Gray and Erica Jong all contribute penetrating insights into love, the nature of relationships and how soul mates are manifest into our lives. These top contemporary thinkers provide deep thought provoking ideas into this often mystical area. I find myself discovering something new and moving each time I listen to this tape. A good one to further your spiritual growth.

"Why Do Grown-Ups Color Me Bad?"
What an appropriate title to get a message accross. I was especially moved by what Mr. JamesDouglas said about using more sympathetic words to describe the word black, since it is a race of people we are talking about. I was touch by chapter five, although sad, the story did get the message accross. By the way, why isn't there a picture of the cover of this book?
Captain, Biggles: A High Flying Adventure

original biggles is excellent
i personally do not read this book but i agreed with the review made by the reader from ayer tawar. books written by captain w.e.john is among the best that i have read so far. and i am very disappointed when this site do not have any information about the original biggles. (i would like to keep in touch with the reader from ayer tawar - pls drop me a mail)
Copycat!
I think this is a different Biggles from the one those of us in the Commonwealth know and love. The Biggles who flew a Sopwith Camel in WWI and worked for British Intelligence later on. The books were written by Captain W. E. Johnson. This is an imitation. :-( I'm really disappointed that Amazon does not carry the original Biggles.

Not worth your time!
Under developed characters, happy, not-for-real endings. Not recommended at all.
A bit predictable but enjoyable
A sense of belonging is a great novel set in a romantic location where neighbours become more than just close. The ending is a bit predicable and sickenly happy but all in all a good read which you'll find hard to put down. You'll fall in love with James' heroine, a writer home from a sun soaked life in Corfu to concentrate on her writing. And you'll find your self hating her villians, the sarcastic and sadistic Amanda, who hates her marriage almost as much as her husband and step daughter.
Full of excitement, not as juicy as I first thought it would be but still a great book to curl up in bed with.
Sense of Belonging
I'm surprised by the low-star rating for this book. I picked up a copy of this book while waiting to catch a train to Paris. I enjoyed this book while on vacation. I thought it was interesting, great character development; basically I couldn't put it down. After I finished it, my other two travelling companions read it as well. My only disappointment was upon arriving back in the States, not all Erica James' novels are available. Well, hey, that's what Amazon.uk is for right?

A disappointing look at a wonderful lady's life
While the black and white illustrations are charming and the text is easy to read for children ages eight and over, this book contains many common historical errors and inaccuracies. The most blatant and disappointing is the author's misspelling of Dolley's name, which was never spelled "Dolly" except by later biographers who goofed. Dolley always signed her given name with the "e" before the "y," and this is how it is listed in the Quaker records of her family. The biography itself is a shallow one that focuses on a few of the "big" events in Dolley's life without really illuminating her character or drawing on the plethora of first-person sources (like letters and diaries) easily available today. One of James Madison's well-remembered sayings about Montpelier being a "squirrel's jump from heaven" is misquoted and not attributed to Madison. It is unfortunate that with so many stellar biographies of Dolley Madison available for adults, one has yet to be written for children that does justice to the lively, smart and gracious first lady who won the hearts of all who met her and earned her the title "Queen Dolley."
