This is "the book" about Jim Jones
This is not a quick/cash in book by some wanna-be, we are talking about a well-crafted piece. Furthermore, aside of being extremely well written and researched, the work shed some light into the psychology of cults. I believe that Raven can help us understand and eliminate many "Jim Joneses" that plague our world culture.

Well done Reiterman/Jacobs hey what's up! Mr. Publisher, this book cannot be out of print.

Excellent account of the Jonestown Massacre.
Well written, unbiased account of the Jonestown Massacre by someone who was there when it happened, and knows how to write. I was wide awake for the last 300pp sacrificing sleep just to get to the end of it. It helps explain how and why 912 innocent people died at the instruction of their leader, Jim Jones.

Raven: The Untold Story of Jim Jones and His People
The story of Jim Jones and Peoples Temple was the basis for my Master's Thesis. Reiterman's text was indispensible in that pursuit. As a prior reviewer states, it is an indispensible warning which should be read and understood by all people. But more importantly, this story has a very current importance in that Charles Garry, one of the lawyers for Jim Jones, was a partner with Robert Treuhaft. Treuhaft and his wife, Jessica Mitford, are avowed communists. Treuhaft has spent his entire career advancing the agenda of the Soviet Communist Party and the KGB according to historian, Stephen Schwartz.

What then makes this a current story of importance is that Hillary Rodham Clinton accepted a summer internship in Treuhaft's Berkeley,CA law firm during the summer of 1971. Even though she knew quite well that his firm was a leftist firm, it held no problems for her.

Additionally, since 80% of the people who died in Guyana on November 18, 1978 were Black, it adds credibility that liberals will allow minorities to die if it can show them as some sort of minority victim.

The story of Peoples Temple is a precursor to the story of Hillary Rodham Clinton's political thrust and as such, should be considered for reading. I agree, it's a shame it's out of print.

Reiterman takes the reader through the history of Jones's cult with an eye for detail and the precision of a seasoned writer. He shows how Jones was sexually perverted, committed to the destruction of the family, and willing to kill people for a cause which had gone sour long before the move to Jonestown. I highly recommend this book for reading.

Jump Start Your Prayer Life
This is without a doubt one of the best books I have ever read on prayer. This book will put your prayer life into high gear and have you on your knees in prayer and expectation.

Inspiring and Edifying
Jim Goll is a talented writer with an urgent message. This book serves as a call for believers to devote themselves to knowing the heart of the Lord, discerning the times and releasing grace through prayer. It is a challenging book if taken seriously. It will stretch many of its readers.

The author is clearly a mature Christian man whose gift for writing and personal walk with the Lord merge in this book and the result is a gift to the reader. I highly recommend this book.

The Best Book On Prophetic Intercession
Jim Goll has written an excellent encyclopedia on prophetic intercession. This book encouraged, instructed, and helped me. Great examples! All kinds of aids from book references to suggested actions. No book that I have read covers this subject in the detail that Jim Goll's book does. I have bought several copies for friends.

The San Francisco Punk Scene told in Photographs.
When I first heard about this Book, I eagerly awaited it's arrival. An Excellent documentation of the Looks and visual attitude that was unique to the San Francisco Scene. Even though the Photos include LA, London and NYC Stars, that original San Francisco feeling still emerges overall. It cries out for more books exploring it's values different from other Punk or Rock scenes. But at least we have Jim's Excellent Documentations and memories. Hopefully More Books coming from him in the future!

before punk fashion was sold at the mall......
....the West Coast punk rock scenesters created a style that looks surprisingly fresh and edgy even today: pink 60s leather coats, striped tees, shredded preppy button-ups, busted jeans, high heels with anklets, asymetrical haircuts, teddy boy coats, geometric print 80s, shrunken suits w/ skinny ties, and more. This is a great book for DIY fashion ideas-- from a time when ripped tee-shirts didn't cost $75 at trendy boutiques and jeans didn't come pre-sandpapered.

The illustrations in this book are wonderful. A true artist. Very cleverly hides the elves in each page and its much fun for a 3 year old to find them and the mice and birds too.

It's fun even if you don't know the music.
The Quentin Blake illustrations are cool. The lyrics are very readable. (Quentin Blake illustrated many Roald Dahl books) A 4 year old friend of mine loves this book and sings along with it.

Raven: The Untold Story of Jim Jones and Peoples Temple
I first read Raven in 1988 as one of the resources for my Master's Thesis in Speech Communication. I was focusing on the rhetoric of survivors in an unspeakable event.

This year, after reading Barbara Olson's Hell to Pay, I needed to reference Raven again because of a connection. So many times since I finished my thesis I had needed to reference it and gaining access was alway problematic. I therefore asked Amazon to find a copy and they were able to accommodate me.

The one thing about Raven and the story of Jim Jones is that, once you have been so deeply involved in the story, it is impossible to let it go. Events continue to occur which force you back to the original. Events such as the Waco incident. Raven is an excellent resource for people trying to understand how one man can hold sway over so many people and lead them to such an unbelievable disaster.

Watching as Jones molds and manipulates his congregants is a fascinating experience. Seeing people so willing to forsake home and family for a little security is a startling realization. But it explains a great deal about how easily people will give over their lives to such a leader in order not to have to manage their own affairs.

Reiterman and Jacobs give us a wonderful essay on the inner workings and the secrets which allowed Peoples Temple to flourish. The detail of their investigations into the cleverness and deceit of Jones is extraordinary. This book is, in my estimation the primary read for anyone trying to understand the times and events which allowed Peoples Temple to become a lure for so many people.

A warning is in order. Once you read Raven, you will never be able to let go of the story. But if you learn one thing from it, it should be that there are deceivers in the world who, if allowed, will take your home, your money and your life.

Very easy to read and work with
This score is a must for those who are performing "Grease." Although it differs slightly in places from the vocals in the hard to read hand written score provided by French's Musical Library, the accompaniments are identical. Measure numbers are exactly the same as the French's edition. Every music director of "Grease" should buy this edition and make the minor adjustments necessary to agree with the French's edition.

GREASE IS STILL THE WORD

Funny, but not Flawless
This book was funny. And that is perhaps the only good thing about it. The book was easy to get into I found myself on page 60 within what seemed like minutes I had so much fun reading it. But after that the jokes seemed to fall flat. The jokes after awhile seemed aimed for a pre-teen audience. If your 13 and enjoy chicken-up-the-rear humor than this book is for you. But for the mature reader steer clear and just see the movie.

a comedy with insanity
me myself and irene is a comedy wirth insanity. me my self and irene is a book with a great deal of comedy. the book is about a man who inherits two personalitys from holding his anger in and not dealing with it. he falls in love with irene, whom is a run away and gets him self invoved. his two personalitys add a new twist to this comedy although at times its is just two much to handle. i recomend this comedy to anyone with great imagination and is in it for a good laugh.

An interesting story
I have read the book but haven't seen the movie yet. I think the jokes in this book are very much like those appeared in Hong Kong movie star Steven Chow Sing Chi's films. Anyway, it is an interesting book and I really enjoy it.
