As a former colleague of Ralph Ivy's (we worked at the same newspaper together, where these drawings first appeared), I have only the greatest admiration for his work. These drawings and characters and stories are made from real heart and soul, and are serious, mystifying, and hilarious, as real life is. These images and the people they portray make for a book like no other. A true treasure, made of platinum and tears.
