You got my attention.
As a wannabe pro golfer, I really enjoyed the trials and tribulations that Harry shares in this book. I could not put the book down. The text flows well, and easily keeps your attention. Just the information it contains on the different tour playing requirements is worth the purchase. Every golfer who has dreamed of playing on any golf tour should read this book.
Eye opening
I was given this book as a present from my mother whose idea of golf is Putt-Putt so I was not expecting too much from it. Boy was I wrong. Hurt's ability to tell a good story was obvious from page one and he truly made you feel like you were along for the ride as well, all the way to the tour. Although overly detailed in parts, he more than made up for it with a wealth of information about golf as a whole. He talks of meeting the Harmon brothers and the tips he learned from them. He takes you to a psychologist to learn the head game of golf. He shows you all the other tour options available to a golfer... while trying to gain your card. It was great read, one I could not put down in the four days or so it took to read.
A book for dreamers and lovers of the game of golf.
For those of us who excel at the game, but for reasons of work, family or expense have never been able to chase the dream, this is a must read. The author goes into detail of tournament rounds with the same thoughts as the rest of us. You will not be disappointed.

very boring
i couldn't finnish it, that is how boring this book is, it's a shame but a fact
The author changes history by using bad facts.
Although Mr. Hurt does a satisfactory job of presenting the development of the Apollo program via interlocking it with the progress of a flight, his presentation of the technical facts and historical facts are not realistic. I fear that people that read his book will not receive the proper facts about the Apollo program.
Some of his ideas aren't even realistic. For example, he always calls the far side of the moon the "dark side" although it spends the same amount of time in darkness as the near side! He even has the astronauts HANGING from their boots in the spacecraft, rather than lying on their backs!!
His overall presentation method is interesting, or else I would have rated this as a "1"
Had lots of flaws, but decent content
Although there were obvious factual, technical, and mechanicalerrors... I liked how it looked into the minds and lives of theastronauts... that part was accurate and well-researched. One examle of an obvious error was when Hurt was quoting the plaque that Apollo 11 placed on the moon, he said "July 1960."

Hurt is not among the "do as I say" legions. He brings his experience of qualifying for the pro tour after age 40 not to lord over ,but assist and interpret for, everyone from the Sunday dreamer to the serious low handicap player looking for a further edge.
Hurt's comfortable writing style reflects both his background as a serious journalist and passion for the game as it should be played.
We read many golf books in our home, where handicaps range from scratch to embarassing. This is one of the best across the spectrum.
