Beautiful!
This book accompanies an IMAX film of the same name. Exquisite in-detail look at the Qin dynasty. Although one of the shortest dynasties, it was arguably the most important in Chinese history. Gorgeous photo dramatizations of true (and purported) events courtesy of the Xi'an film studio as well as many pictures of historical artifacts. It gives an introduction to Qin Shihuang, his army, his advisors, his laws, his public-works projects, palace intrigue and his legacy. The book outlines the exciting and dramatic detials of what it was like to live during the Warring States Period, the Qin and early Han dynasties. The authors have truly poured a lot of thought and care into writing it.

wide knowledge of EPS and ablation
This book was recommended to me by my boss. When I read this book, I was admired for precise mention. The statements are practical and useful. I also recommend this book for every electrophysiologist, especially, for whom start catheter ablation after reading Josephson's textbook.

BWH resident opinion
This is the best handbook out there. In the past I have used the MGH manual, Ferri and the Washington manual, as well as one I made myself. There is no question that this is the only book, aside from Sanford, that I use on a daily basis. I use it for calculations, quick reviews, and even for teaching. On more than one occasion I have based a lecture on the format used in this handbook.

An MGH medical resident's perspective
This book is now literally the only book (besides my Palm Pilot) I carry on the wards. It has an amazing wealth of information from ECG criteria for the diagnosis of wide complex tachycardia, to Coumadin dosing algorithms, to guidelines for thyroid nodule evaluations. All guidelines/recomendations are extensively refrenced to the primary literature. Ounce for ounce, the best and most comprehensive medical handbook!

Lighter Coat Pockets...
Ever since I started carrying this book around, I have had no use for all the other cards and books I used to carry. In fact this book and the palm pilot with epocrates are the only things a medical resident should ever need. The information is complete, concise and up to date with full references. The book is well written, perfectly layed out and easy to navigate. And of importance to any housestaff/medical student, it's small and light and fits in any coat pocket...

Least accurate and least enjoyable Ch. New year book!
We have read alot of Chinese New Year's books and found this to be the least enjoyable. We were surprised and disappointed to find a quite scary part in the middle. Not unless you read the afterword will you find out that Bouchard made up the story. (I do not think the subtitle should say it is a Chinese legend.) I would recommend that you stay away from this book, and certainly read it well before you consider reading it to any children. I would not want this to be anyone's first or only introduction to Chinese dragons, Chinese New Year's or the Year of the Dragon! If you use this book, do have others on hand and explain that this is just one person's view. (This is an especially strong reaction from me as we read lots of different versions of almost any story we read.)

May not be a true 'legend', but my daughter love's it!
We received this book as a gift. At first, I was afraid my 2-year-old daughter (adopted from China) might find this story too scary. But once I got her to sit through the rather long story, she absolutely loved it!!! She now takes the book with her everywhere, calling it her 'dragon book'. I'm not sure what exactly it means when Bouchard says he made up the story, but stayed true to Chinese history and folklore - it seems a contradiction to me to say you both made up a story, and stayed true to folklore...But whatever it means, I can't argue with the fact that my daughter just loves the book!
