Do whatever you have to to get a copy of this book!
Serial romances don't get any better than this! I loved everything about this book. The characters are great. Zane is the epitome of the strong, sexy, dangerous hero and Barrie is a perfect match for him. She's brave and smart - not one of those annoying heroines who has to be rescued after ignoring perfectly logical warnings not to do the very thing that got her in trouble. Linda Howard has concocted a fun, fast-paced plot that creates plenty of its own dramatic moments. The love scenes are incredibly steamy without being excessively graphic. I hope there are many more MacKenzie stories to come!

A Great Book!
This is the first book of Linda Howard that i have read and it won't be last!I liked that characters very much . Zane was just great! A sensitive and strong man........ every woman's dream! story was great too.

A Joy a true pleasure!!!!!
This was the first book of Linda Howard or Beverly Barton that I have read -- well it sent me flying to my usual book store looking for any thing else they have written --- Linda Howard's Mackenzie's Pleasure Zane & Barrie's story -- was so moving, and enjoyable, I never put it down once I started, I have since read Mackenzie's Mission Joe's & caroline Evans' story and am now searching for the stories on Michael, Joshua & Maris, I have just put Chance's story in my cart (...) great reading --- romance like this is truely a pleasure.

SO GOOD!!
Wolf stole my breath and Joe stole my heart. Then I read Christmas Kisses with Maris' story and I became committed to the whole family. Zane's story is next! These weren't my first Linda Howard stories but they are the ones that got me hooked. I'm convinced she can't write a bad book!

I loved the book
Linda Howard is the best I love her books I have 3 of her books an I love them I read them over and over. I have Mackenzie's Mountain and Mackenzie's Mission and Christmaskises. Im trying to find the others in this family but i can't so would someone tell me where i can find them Thanks for your help

Where can I get one of these MacKenzies?!?!?
Every once in a while you find a 'keeper,' a book that you don't lend out and you read over and over again, and no matter what is going on, when you're done reading a 'keeper' you feel that warm sense of satisfaction deep inside. I felt this way about Linda Howard's MacKenzie books. Wolf was a man in a million, and you had this feeling that Joe was definitely going to walk in his father's footsteps - and he did! The female characters, Mary and Caroline are both fiesty, challenging and hold their own against the MacKenzie men!

The books move quickly and her characters are well defined with distinctive personalities and depth. Wolf MacKenzie gave me tingles, Joe 'Breed' MacKenzie made me fly, and I can't wait for the next one! When I finished MacKenzie's Mountain, I didn't think any story could top it; and then I went right into MacKenzie's Mission and found it even better!

Linda Howard's MacKenzie books stand in a class of their own. She brings her characters alive with action, passion and emotions. When you read one of her books, you leave the real world behind and become a part of the story. Be careful though, this book is one of those 'just one more page' books, until you realize that you're at the end of the book!

Great, But The Sunday Strips should Have Been In Color
It's really Funny, & A good read, my only complain is that the sunday strips are in Black & white , What? No color? that aside, I recommend it , By God!

An Excellent Sally Forth Book
This was an excellent collection! Only complaint is that it's not (and never is) long enough.

A tear-jerker that I'd read over and over again.
From the first page, this story captured my heart. I read it years ago and have never seen it since. Being a mother, I felt for the heroine, who is in destitute and in labor. When the hero helps her, then marries her, I felt a sigh of relief. The heroine's life hasn't been easy and she's afraid to reach out. When she reveals her past, the hero decides that HE is the one for her and her baby, despite the heroine's murky beginnings. I felt a tear in my eye as the author weaved a gentle, healing tale of love. I'm buying it and adding it to my collection.

Bluebird Winter
A wonderful story that will warm your heart. A young mother finds herself in labor during a terrible blizzard and is rescued by an intelligent, handsome, and charismatic doctor who happens to specialize in babies in trouble. He rescues the mother, delivers her premature baby under stormy conditions and marries the deserted and destitute mother to provide the baby with all the advantages a doctor can give it. But his heart is captured by the young mother and he waits for her to find her way to him. A charming and heartwarming story of family love and support, and of a man's dedication and honor.

Ilike the books on the Mckinzies, I would like more of them.
The kook on the McKinzies mountain and the mission were just Great ,I also like where they always got the family togeather, it shows much love for each one even Chance, I would like one where Chance finds some one and gets married,

I highly recommend each story in this book.
I especially enjoyed Linda Howard's continuation of the Mackenzie family. Maris' story includes all of the elements that make a Linda Howard book so difficlut to put down. The hero was a surprise. A must for this author's fans. Debbie Macomber's "Silver Bells" was one of her better stories and a true pleasure to read. Then Linda Turner added her story to make this one of the best holiday books published for Christmas.

Elijah's Violin & Other Jewish Fairy Tales

Used price: $3.49

A rare treat
Howard Schwartz's Elijah's Violin will appeal to both those who love fairy tales and those who love Jewish folklore. The stories have elements of more familiar fairy tales - birds that speak, mute princesses, magic mirrors, love, fear, good, and evil. However, Jewish elements make the stories distinctive. King Solomon appears in several of the tales, as does Asmodeus, King of the Demons in Jewish folklore. Schwartz's retellings are deft and lyrical and Heller's art complements the stories beautifully. If you're looking to be transported to a palace made of water or wish to go on a journey with a pirate princess, look no farther than Elijah's Violin.

This is a great book!
I have read Elijah's Violin numerous times and think it is a wonderful ride through fairy tales and fantasy. Children will love this book, I have been reading it since the age of 7, and am still enjoying it to this day. I suppose I have a slight bias since the author is my father, but I still think it's a great book!

White Lies

Pure Excitement!!!
This book was a blast. It is a quick read and alot of fun. The action surrounding the love story is great. Jay is an emotionally grounded heroin and her ex-husband is everything she didn't expect, so the foundation is shaken a bit.

The suspense added into the story keeps you on the edge of your seat at all times. You never know whats gonna happen next. The love formed betweeen them is as strong as can be and what every person hopes for in their life.

This is truely prime Linda Howard story telling and is definately worth reading. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Loved it!
One of Linda Howards best! I read it in one day simply because I could not put it down. I think it had a great start and an even better ending. Jay is approached by two men the very day she loses her job and is asked to identify her ex-spouse who was a victim of an explosion. The chemistry between them sizzles even before they know what the other looks like. It wasn't love at first sight as the first sight wasn't there for either of them. It only got better. It's a fast paced book you won't regret reading. The best thing about LH books is that none of her books are based on constant fighting between the main characters until the end when all works out. Her books make you feel good throughout... except Sarah's Child which I didn't really like because of the female character without a backbone.

White Lies was GREAT! Howard keeps you emotionally involved!
This book was one of Linda Howard's best! Right from the start I felt a strong interest and bond with Steve. Although he was near death and couldn't remember his name, his strength and character were so compelling that it was like you really knew him or wished you had. And Jay, she has all the qualities of an intelligent, strong, and loving heroine as she quietly fights to help a man, she barely knows, survive and love again. This is a book that stays with you, and personally I've read it at least 6 times, and I didn't want to put it down any of those times! I got so involved in the story that I laughed and cried right along with Jay and Steve. This is one of the sequels to Diamond Bay, as was Midnight Rainbow and Heartbreaker, and they were all well written, without any lulls in the action. It made me wish for more when they ended. Thank goodness for sequels!

I enjoyed the MacKenzie Family saga.
I read each of the novels when they were published alone, and then I purchased the two combined books. However, I was greatly disappointed in the short story written to introduce the adult Maris became; as the only female child of this strong family, I feel she deserved much more than a short story to fill in her life story. When will Chance's story be written? Anxiously awaiting that final installment. I greatly enjoy all the Linda Howard books, and I will continue to read her work.

Zane Mackenzie
I fell in love with Zane Mackenzie! The way Mrs. Howard kept me spellbound from beginning to end really got me interested in her other books. Of all the Mackenzie books, this one is by far the best. The other about Maris was okay, but it is Zane's story that I can read and reread several times! Thank you Linda Howard for introducing me to Zane! Please keep the Mackenzie books coming!

I love the Mackenzie's and I loved this book!
All the Mackenzie family books have been excellent, but Zane's story has definately been the best! I am really looking forward to Chance's story, in fact, I rush to the store each month to find out if it is coming soon. I would highly recommend all of the Mackenzie books to anyone looking to read about sexy, caring men, strong, intellegent women, and an adventrue that will knock your socks off!

wonderful ("génial" in french)
I read this book (my third of Linda Howard) and still I can't keep it out of my mind : this book is terrific and wonderful. The relationship between Roanna and Webb is well described with passion, torment and fear...
Of course, there is a story about incest but it doesn't bother me very long, and the bad guy is really a bad guy in the story. I love the end of this book and I like the love scenes between the two when they share their love with no restrain...
Buy this book and like me, you'll become a Howard maniac (I bought all her books by now)...
At the same level of SHADES OF TWILIGHT, I'll put AFTER THE NIGHT (always by Linda Howard)...

What Can I Say It's Linda Howard
Mystery, Romance, and Sensuality this book has it all and is written by a great author that keeps getting better and better.

Roanna is raised on her grandmothers estate in Alabama when her mother and father are killed. Her life is a torment and her torment is in the form of her perfect cousin Jessie who is cruel and mean to Roanne. The only bright spot in her life was Webb. He stood between the imperfect Roanna and the spoiled Jessie. Roanna finds herself falling in love with her hero. Webb eventually marries Jessie but finds out to late what a mistake that was. Webb's wife and Roanna's cousing Jessie is killed and the finger is pointed to Webb.

Webb leaves the area and years pass and Roanna goes and finds him to bring him back to their grandmother who needs him now. Webb comes back to the house that his wife was killed in to a killer that was never caught and to the feelings that he is starting to have towards Roanna.

This book really sizzles and is a great story by one of my favorite authors.

Wow! What A Great Love Story!
I loved this story. I am surprised that it did not have a perfect 5 star rating. This is my second Linda Howard book, and it will most definately NOT be my last. This is a story about Roanna and Webb. They are distant second cousins. 7 year old Roanna is left orphaned when her parents die in a car accident. She comes to live with her grandmother at Davencourt, her families rich estate. She does not feel welcome by her family, they treat her as if she is not wanted, but only Webb is there to protect her and make her feel safe.

Roanna grows up developing a huge crush on Webb and practically worships him. She tries out her burgeoning feelings for him in a kiss that sets of a cataclysim of events. Webb and his wife Jessie,Roanna's other cousin, have a fight and threaten each other with divorce. That very night,Jessie ends up dead.

Everyone in the family blames Webb, even though the police have no evidence of the fact. He feels no support from anyone and he takes off to start a new life. Spirited Roanna having lost Webb, the only person who ever made her feel worthy, is at a loss. She hides inside her self. Ceasing to care about anyone or anything. Ten years pass, and Roanna grows older, gone is the hoydenish teenager, and in her place is a quiet and sophisticated young woman. At her grandmothers request, Roanna goes off to find Webb. Her grandmother wants to make peace with him before she dies.

Webb is surprised when he first sees Roanna all grown up. Gone was the spirited girl with adoring eyes, in her place was a woman with no outward signs of emotion. He feels strong emotions for her, and is upset with the way she is all closed up to him. All withdrawn from everything. Unable to resist her anymore, he takes Roanna and spends a night with her filled with love and passion.

Roanna still loves Webb, but does not believe that he could actually love her back. She believes that he will go back to Davencourt for the estate and money, but never for her.

Webb is drawn to Roanna and desperately wants to see her the way she was. Laughing and smiling again. He returns because of her. Unfortunately, someone wants him dead. They make attempts at his and Roannas life. Webb has to make Roanna see that he loves her for her and at the same time find out who is threatening thier lives.

I loved this book. I especially loved the romance and love between Roanna and Webb. She gave him unconditional love. He gave her the love back, he was so kind and gentle with her. You could feel that he was very concerned with her health and well bieng as well.

This was a great novel. I recommend it to anyone who loves a good romantic read. There was some mystery in this book that was good too.
