Icelandic Horse Activity and Coloring Book 1st edition
My children absolutely loved this book. We live in an area with alot of farms and farm animals and they just loved being able to learn about this type of horse. They spent hours doing the activities and coloring the great pictures! I would highly recommend this book to anyone with children, it's very fun and also a very educational book.

Review
My daughter loves coloring and learning about the diierent horses in this book. The illustrations are spectacular and very realistic. The author has put together many interesting facts and mixed them together in fun activities. This book now has a second edition which has some extra pages. This is a great way to get a child started on a hobby, such as collecting and learning about horses. My little girl just loves to sit and color, or do the fun activities in this book.

Wow! Great Photos and easy to read, too
These field guides for the younger scientist are filled with the most vivid photographs. My children ages 7,6 and 4 and I love to sit and look at the pictures and talk about the text. The descriptions are easy to read and explain the details of the subject clearly and in words a child can relate to. I would recommend these for any young adventurer.

Wildflowers (National Audubon Society First Field Guide)
All the first field guide books are a good source of information for the inquisitive outdoor child.

flashlight fun
We have had this book (among hundreds) for two years now, I have yet to see anything else like it. My young children continuously go back to this book for storytime. It is completely interactive, slightly spooky and totally fun! All you need is a dark room and a wall to shine the flashlight on, everyone can join in the fun.

Girls Can Do Activity and Coloring Book
I have two daughters and they adore this book. They really like the anime type characters and really enjoyed the "girls can do anything" theme. They aslo really enjoyed learning the Japanese words. The pictures were well drawn and the activities kept them going for hours at a time. This is another great book from what seems to be a great author and publisher.

a winner for an active child
Jumping Jack the Grasshopper is an adorable book about a grasshopper named Jack who is looking for a friend. In the end, Jack leanrns that he doesn't have to be just like someone in order to be their friend...some friends wiggle, fly, and swim. My active 2 year old little boy will actually sit down to read this book as he hops the toy grasshopper "Jack" that comes with the book from page to page on his adventure, and he learns a valuable lesson.

Ignore the 18 month + age.
My son is 11 months old, and loves this book. It was quite frankly the only one he didn't rip out of my hands after the second page. It rhymes, has short sentences and is interactive. A perfect book. And it teaches about animals. For older kids there is sort of a "Where's ..." where certain animals are on everypage in different spots. I think that is neat.

My son loves this book!
My 16 month old has loved this book since he was 9 months old. It's colorful, stands up to abuse (pages are thick), and lifting the flaps for peekaboo delights him to giggles. He picks this one out every night before bed.

A great flap book!
This is my 11 month old daughter's favorite book, and it has been for 2 months running. The illustrations are very bright and colorful, and the flaps are large and sturdy enough to stand up to much bending and grabbing. The book is suitable for younger babies who like flaps and animals, and there is a more complex storyline to entertain older toddlers.

Factors of a great read: action, romance, intensity
I happen to love fantasy books , though I only truely enjoy the ones that allow the characters to seep into you and you become them. For me this was one of those books that take you away and into the story Marian was a wonderful character that you never hear anything personal about but this told it from her . With this book, I have learned to see Marian more as Robin Hood's mate, not annoying female pest. Love the romance, intensity, and action.

Parents will love this just as much as their kids!
Twists and turns, hate into romance, hardness into humor, a novella with all the key characterisitics to draw a hungry reader in. Especially with Maid Marian as a lead character, you wish there'd be a sequel. But no, this book stands on it's own pretty well, pretty darn well.

Don't Miss out on the action and romance!
I REALLY liked this book. In this story, Maid Marian is not some helpless damsel in distress, waiting for her knight in shining armor to rescue her. Instead she is a down-to-earth young girl who takes her life into her own hands, becomes a self-sufficient young woman, and learns to love.

An ethnic telling of Red-Riding Hood!
This book is a Red-Riding Hood Story from China but, unlike other versions I've seen, this time it is the mother who goes off to see Grandma and the three daughters are left home alone. I liked how this story showed that the three sisters could work together to save themselves from the wolf, It also shows children how being impatient can get you into a lot of trouble. My favorite part of the book was the illustrations and it is easy to understand why it won the Caldecott Medal. These illustrations are very reminiscent of Chinese watercolors or chalk drawings; they have a very soft and wispy feeling to them. The author is not only a good writer but a good illustrator as well since he was able to perform both of these functions with as much skill as he has talent.

A Great Fairy Tale from China
This is the Chinese version of "Little Red Riding Hood." The main characters are a wolf and three sisters - Shang, Tao, and Paotze. The story takes place in the country, where the girls live with their mother.

The wolf wants to eat the three sisters. The girls solve their problem by tricking the wolf. You'll have to read the book yourself to see what happens.

If you like this book, another book by Ed Young you might like is "The Lost Horse."

...

Lon Po Po
Lon Po Po is a 1990 Children's Choice Book. This is a Chinese version of the traditional story of Little Red Riding Hood. Three sisters, Shang, Tao, and Paotze must defend themselves against a frightening wolf while their mother is gone visiting their grandmother for her birthday. Lon Po Po is an excellent book with amazing illustrations, which are a combination of abstract and realistic shadowy images. Second and third graders could enjoy reading the fairy tale, a popular genre of young readers. While different from the traditional story of Little Red Riding Hood, children will enjoy trying to predict what will happen next. I feel that teachers will find this book as enjoyable as children and consider it a high quality piece of literature. It is well written and illustrated.
