A must read for all Cat lovers!
This book was HILARIOUS>^..^< I am an admitted Cat-aholic so I could totally relate to this book. Especailly since I spent 3 hours putting a perch together for them yesterday before I read the book:-) Nothing is too good for my furrbabies!

Hi. My name is Kathy, and I'm a Cat-oholic...
As I sit here in the middle of the night typing this, my cat sits on my lap as she purrs away and I hit the keyboard while my elbows are uncomfortably extended out straight...of course I won't bend them...I wouldn't want to disturb my baby. She's comfortable. Thank you Allia for letting me know that there are others out there and I am not alone. At last, group therapy may be available!!!

If your wallet contains a photo of your cat or perhaps if the feline decides what's for dinner tonight, then get this little book. You will laugh and laugh. The full-color illustrations are funny as they depict you and I too well! Many meows to you all.

Find a man who loves cats as much as you do!
To say I love my cats too much is an understatement. Will I one day grow old and collect even more cats until my house is full of them and they call me the cat lady? My husband is here to make sure I don't get out of control. This book will be loved by your feline loving friends who will reminisce about the nights the cat snuggled by their feet. Give a friend all of Allia's books and she will have enough laughs for at least 9 lives! Sorry couldn't help myself on that one. Keep it up Allia. We love your books!

Hilarious and full of truth!
My 2 persian cats are my children so I could totally relate. This book would be a fun read for any cat lover, whether they have children or not. Also, I found the illustrations very enjoyable.

My cats are my children - for now that is!
"Grandma is coming to see you." If you say this to your cats then this book: IS FOR YOU! Yes, I don't have any children - Yet! Cats do just make more sense at the moment. They are cute, cuddly and rarely cry. They can be left at home when you go on vacation - then they do seem rather hurt when you return and snub you for at least 5 minutes. Children would definately be more excited to see you and seem a little more forgiving when you go away. Cats are most likely mad because now they have to act nice and not go scampering across you kitchen counters. They get over it! You just have to love all these books! My two cats are my babies at least for now. Buy this book for all your cat loving friends. Cats also lower your blood pressure too and give you a ton of love. People who don't like cats have never entered their world. They know who loves them and who doesn't. Gotta go - meow dinner time!

I wish I'd read this book years ago!
I've heard the title of this book quoted for years. When I saw a copy at my inlaws house, I decided to read it.

Although it doesn't take lots of time to read, the return on time invested can be incredible. This is probably the best book I've read on goal setting--and I've read a ton.

I particularly like Campbell's realistic approach. He doesn't try to get you to squeeze your life into a predetermined, micromanaged mold. Instead, he offers lots of advice on how to increase your options as you go through life.

I'll be getting this book for my favorite high school grads for sure. But if you're a little past high school, as I am, don't count yourself out. This book could help just about anyone.

Fantastic - required reading for EVERY highschool student!
This book helps you to understand the things you should consider throughout your teenage years, or even later, that will influence your adult life. It particularly focuses on choosing a career. The primary point is how to ensure you get and keep lots of options open throughout your life. Although it's really written for highschool students, college students would find it useful also. Actually, it's valuable even for adults. Very easy reading; only takes about an hour to read, but is well worth the time.

cuddle up with your cat!
This is a great book to cuddle up with your cat and enjoy. It's great for those people who don't always have a man by your side and need to be reminded that your cat loves you unconditionally. Don't think that this is putting down men, it's glorifying cats! This book has beautiful illustrations and is written very well. You'll laugh and cry. ENJOY!

Messy Jessie

A real mess
The fabulous illustrations in this darling book delight small children, who have a way of making a mess of themselves, literally.

Jessie loves messes. She's into crayons that color the edges of her paper and keep going--onto the table--and big red dots on her face and hands. She can't contain her yogurt in a cup; it spills.

Her dad says, "How about a carrot, my Messy Jessie? A carrot's not messy." When he runs to answer the door, he comes back to find that she has dropped an egg on the floor, dumped out the milk, catsup and mustard, stepped in them, and is dancing about singing "Messy Jessie!"

The cat and dog lap up the mess, making footprints and pawprints all over the floor.

"This isn't funny," says a dad losing patience.

She takes a bath and goes to bed. "I love you my Messy Jessie," says her dad.

But she even dreams of messes. The message is real for children of a certain age.

And of course, it's the dad who takes care of the messes. Alyssa A. Lappen

Me too!
My weight is always perfect for my height, too - it's the height that varies, too;)

This is another great Nicole Hollander book, with plenty of Sylvia (among other characters) guaranteed to make you laugh out loud. The thoughtful funny cartoons reflect an aspect of being a woman that most comic strips never acknowledge.

Buy it, read it, maybe with a Margarita and enjoy yourself.

Better than a beer at the end of the day
All of Nicole Hollander's books could serve as literary antidepressants. In a single volume of her collections you will encounter discussions with the devil, unlikely superheroes such as "Fashion Cop" and "Relationship Cop"; mighty heroines (usually) who perform such services as descending upon helpless individuals to prevent them from leaving the house wearing unacceptable earrings. Have you ever undertipped at a restaurant? Watch out - Hollander provides several scenarios about who actually runs heaven - waitresses are one option (others include lawyers and mail carriers). Her stuff is so delightfully fantastic and off-the-wall it can't fail to amuse - of course, her stuff also contains strong feminist and often political undertones and an essentially cynical view about everything. It's not exactly "warm family humor," but it never fails to delight me after any particularly grueling day. It's one of those collections you will consider copying and mailing to friends and family, or posting on your own refrigerator. The art is exquisite. Hollander can convey more attitude with a single facial expression or body stance than a professional with a camera. Great, great, great!!

A Must for Cat People
If you're a cat owner, or should I say if you are owned by a cat... :) This book is for you. I think only cat people will understand the humour in this book. It's a really short read but you'll probably find yourself nodding your head in agreement many, many times.
How often have you tried to read the newspaper or eat dinner in peace only to have kitty stalking you. You know what I mean. This book tells it from the cat's point of view. They try to tell you that they are so hard done by... as if. Read the book and you'll know what I mean.

My favorite gift for new cat owners . . .
I love giving this little book to new cat owners, especially ones who are first-time cat folk. Nicole Hollander's "Sylvia" cartoons have long been favorites of mine, and she turns her attention and talent to astutely describing life with our furry purry friends.

Her cartoons are hilarious -- just the right combination of "in your face" humor and subtlety -- and the text consisting of essays and "quizzes" is wonderfully funny. Anyone who has ever lived with a cat will see something they recognize: the finicky eater, strange cat habits in the bathroom, cats and vets, what cats do while we're away at work. There's even a "Dear Abby"-like column running throughout the book, offering "helpful" advice to "reader" questions.

Yes, Nicole Hollander has nailed the feline mystique cold. You'll love it.

One of the Best
One of the best funny little books I've seen in a long time. Cat keepers will love it and cat lovers will see snippets of their own furry babies in these pages. This creator of "Sylvia" must sometimes sneak into my house and spy on my cats. I read this one often, and it always makes me laugh. All my cat keeping friends got this for Christmas. This one is a keeper.

A humorous take on life with cats (and without men)
Pages full of reason after reason that cats are better than men, complete with illustrations. Quite amusing.

Cats rule !
Men are ok but cats rule! Even male cats. This is a funny look at how and why cats have come to rule the hearts and minds of so many women. Very lighthearted and rather short but very entertaining. A nice little gift for the female cat lover.

Don't make me wear a collar - my cat's view!
My cats both believe they are kings of the house. They appreciate the fact that we don't make them wear collars. Come to think of it, I don't make my husband wear a wedding ring either. We all mutually trust eachother and live in harmony just happy to be on the planet together. If you want your cats to look at you like you have gone mad as you laugh out loud at these funny feline ways - buy this book. One question I do have is - Do women treat their men like they treat their cats? Do you cook your man dinner when he wants it? Do you treat him with the same respect? Maybe he would treat you better if you gave him the same treatment as you do your feline friends. Cats still are better than men because they never tell you that you are wrong and always are happy to keep your feet warm at night. Cats are the best creatures on the planet. They are not understood by most men. I got lucky and married a man who loves cats as much as me. A world without cats is not one where I want to be!

Very enlightening...how wonderful the inner bitch can be..
I have spent my whole life being nice and worrying about what other people think. It's nice to finally see that it's ok to say "I don't think so", to the people who take advantage of you. Toxic niceness is definitely something that has to be stopped. It's time women stand up for what they want and what they don't want. I loved the book...

I don't think so! has become my mantra.
This book was enormously funny. It is more of a humor book than a self-help book, although much of the advice could be taken seriously. I commend the idea that women should ask for what they want, and say "I don't think so" when they aren't being treated right.

I read this right after my engagement broke off. It had the immense effect of cheering me up and made me look forward to the life ahead of me.

A great feel good book for all of us bitches.
I gave this book to my mom, all five of my blood sisters, my step sisters, my daughter and daughter-in-law, and my sisters-in-laws. We all suffer from toxic niceness and it's time to stop! Humor is truely the best medicine and the laughter has helped my Inner Bitch deal more kindly and honestly with my husband, father, brother, son and son-in-law.
