Finally, the comic genius in her OWN words
and not in the twisted, fabricated words of someone else. This is the ONLY autobiography Lucille Ball ever wrote, so it is a real treasure. From the minute you open the book till the time you close it, you hear Lucy's voice guiding you through her life. When you start to read it, after a few moments, your voice just sort of drowns out and Lucy's voice takes over. Relive with her her happiness and heartache, her loves and hates, her triumphs and failures. I actually felt her love for her kids and Desi. It just came shining through. The hardest part of reading this book is putting it down after you're done and realizing that that the voice you just heard is truly silent forever. But you can hear that wonderful voice anytime you please simply by just opening this heartfelt, extremely moving and touching look at Lucy's life as she saw it. She doesn't give very many details, simply for fear of hurting certain people who were still alive and whom she still cared for, but she gives enough to paint you a really good picture. I can see why Lucy would've wanted to abandon this great book, because she didn't want to hurt anyone, but I'm so glad it was finally found. Even though Lucy's body isn't here any more, you can see her in her prime whenever you feel like a laugh just by turning on the TV, and reading her own words and feelings in this book. Finally, here is a book about her without all the lies and gossip. This is the total truth, but she was never cruel or mean. She was tactful in her choice of words. This book is a must read, if not must have, for any Lucy fan.

I loved "Love, Lucy"
Brilliant! (thats about the best word to describe this book)I absolutely loved it! The way she recounted her childhood so clearly is fabulous and extremely interesting! She really points out all the hard work it took to get to the top. I especially liked how it, with such detail, describes how she felt about Desi Arnaz. Her love for him shines through in her words. Also, how she spoke about her wish for children made me cry with happiness when she became pregnant with little Lucie, and then Desi Jr.! The divorce with Desi was hard for me to read and grasp. It seemed she really wanted to work things out, but it's disheartening when she tells about her hatred toward him in the end. I think deep down she would have dedicated a lot of time to reconciliation, because love obviously still settled in the bottom of her heart, and his. Buy and read this truly magnificent work of Lucille Ball, America's Favorite Comedienne!

an excellent funny and moving book about the queen of comedy
This book is a brilliant look into the life of america's and the world's greatest comedienne!!! This book takes you inside the life of Lucille Ball, from her early days as a performer in vaudeville and radio, to her chance meeting with Desi, and their love affair and how both Desi and Lucy fought to get their show I Love Lucy on the air. It also talks about life with Desi, and Lucy's relationship with co-stars Vivian Vance(Ethel Mertz), and William Frawley(Fred Mertz). And the book also talks about Lucy's relationship with Lucie And Desi Jr. And It shows how Lucy and Desi's marriage fell apart, and Desi's Involvement with RKO Studios. And It finishes off with Lucy's marriage to Actor Gary Morton and how both he and Vivian Vance saved her life! (Vivian from drowning, and Gary from electrocution!!!) This book is a must have if you are a die-hard Lucy fan!!! Even regular I Love Lucy fans will enjoy this book!!!
