This is a positive review for Hypnosis: A Power...by Hewitt
This is basically a how-to book on hypnosis. Hewitt explains different strategies and way to try to hypnotize yourself and others. He encloses detailed instructions that prove to be quite helpful. He even includeds some of his past experience with himself and other patients. The main focus of this book is self-hypnosis, even though it does have quite a bit of other information.

Taming of the Shrew Joyfully Revisited!
Since I love to see the themes of classic literature reworked for today's students, I enjoyed all four of the companion plays in this series. The Cowboy and the Wildcat is a really delightful visit to the Shrew-Taming theme, set south of the border. The language is current and and accessible, with plenty of support activities for second language learners. The play text is adaptable for everything from a simple classroom reading and discussion to a complete staging. And students never seem to tire of the possible spin-off theme discussions of love and marriage. Check out these great classroom resources!

Greatest Time of Design!
this book is a real find! there are some truly magnificent and stylistically ground-breaking samples of early 20th century graphic design here. most of the selections represent the pinnacle of the german and russian avante-garde designers of the 1920's and 30's, including alexandr rodchenko, el lissitsky, lazlo-moholy nagy and many others. But there is also a decent overview of french and american designers as well.

this period of work is profound because of it's ingenuity, daring graphic experiments in text and layout, and it's use of collage, photos and text, and dada influences to create bold graphic statements. the pieces included in this volume span many different media in the graphic arts...war propaganda, art exhibition posters, product advertising, civil program posters, packaging, publishing, and even fine art.
it is a testament to this collection of designers, because many of them worked simultaniously in many different mediums all at once, especially those involved in the bauhaus movement and the russian avante-garde artists.

this book is an excellent overview of this period in graphic design, and would provide endless inspiration for anybody involved in any field of design. i cannot recommend it strongly enough!

I'm amazed, this really works!
In this book, you are provided with several self hypnosis "scripts" to record onto a tape, in your own voice. I recorded the weight loss script a little over a week ago, and I, an avid chocoholic, have not had a bite of chocolate since! I'm no longer snacking between meals, I'm not tempted by sweets, and I couldn't be happier. There is at least one script in this book for everyone. The wording is wonderful, very positive, and extremely effective.

For Those Who need Help Starting
I readed this book in one sitting . As I read it I try out some of the things he offers. I have been working with the psychic world for a few months on a serious level. I always knew I could do it . I just hide it away. Like so many people do. So when I started I try to find a book that was plain and to the point on the how too.I had read books by John Edwards and Sylvia Brown for years. And I have gotten some good ideas from John Edwards. But I think this book is more to the point for all who are really interested it trying all they can . They all give examples . But this book is more the hands on do it your self type that a person needs who knows they need to take one more step . But what is that step. I borrow this book from a library to see if it was what I thought I wanted . After reading it I am now buying it today . In the book he mentions that you need only one good book in a time frame of say one year to get you started and I would say this is the one good book. I have read MANY books on the subject and so far this by far the easiest to understand and work with.

Psychic Development for Beginners (by: william d. hewitt)
Purchasing this book is the best thing i have done for myself. I keep it with me everywhere i go to look up anything as i practice. This author did an extremely excellent job in the way he wrote this book. Everything is in detail and he also shares his positive and negative experiences, so that we, his readers, can learn from it. He gives so many examples, and shares his stories in detail. This book answers alot of questions and is definitely great for a beginner. I bought this book as a gift for someone and they love it just as much as i do. If anything, give it a try. It is also the best thing you can do for yourself. I rate this book higher than 5 star, it really is great.

The best book ever written for Psychic Develpment.
When I started to become intrested in the psychic phenomenon, I nearly jumped for joy when I found this book, Psychic Develpment for Beginners, by William Hewitt. It informed me a great deal about my inate psychic abilities. It told me how to use the abilty invested in everyone by Our Creator, to make the things that have eluded me forever, to happen! It's an amazing book, and anyone intrested in the New Age phenomenon should read it. It enabled me to choose the path that I like the most. It's probably the best book written that teaches beginners to develop their psychic abilities. I've been praticing the excerises in the book, and have had extrodinary sucess. I never knew I could do such amazing things! Since I've finished it, I lead some of my friends into reading it, they to loved it. And you will to. If you have any intrest in psychic abilities, this is the one book you should read. I'm sure you'll learn from it, and hope you have as much sucess with it as I did.

Background information on Dickens' Victorian England
One cannot help but notice that in 19th Century English literature a lot of drinking (and eating) is the order of the day. Especially in the works of Charles Dickens, one is either in the local, gin shop, or having a "cordial" in a character's house. Convivial Dickens is the reference guide to the waxing and waning popularity of beer, gin and mixed drinks in Victorian England-specifically the England of Dickens. Each chapter covers a specific drink, beer or gin for example, gives the story of its popularization/decline, and includes recipes taken directly from 19th Century bartending guides. These allow the reader to do some "research" on their own, to fully enjoy the atmosphere of the times.
A pretty useful companion to any of Dickens' works, recommended.

Pretty good!
It is a good book. I really like the auther and have some of his other books. It is good but kind of puts down some peoples beliefs about hypnosis and could ruin the fun. But remember it never says hypnosis in general isn't real. It also has some encouraging things. I mean by this, it proves wrong what made some people scared of hypnosis.
