An excellent book dealing with sexual sins and deliverance
This book deals specifically with sexual sins and how our Christian lives are affected and how often there are deeper issues at stake which need to be addressed. Roy gets to the heart of the matter and is specific about sins of homosexuality, of unfaithfulness, divorce, etc. and how the grace of God can completely set free from the guilt and bondage of these sins. We would highly recommend it!

Not I but Christ

Not I, But Christ
The author has done a superb job of taking the story of David and Saul and translating their struggles and destinies into my own life experiences. This depiction of the typology of how David represents my new life in Christ as opposed to the Saul of my old nature. As Christians we start out on a journey of joy and anticipation, quickly realizing that the Saul in our humanity does not want to relinquish the throne to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The author has shown that, as with David, the Battle is the Lord's and ultimately, "Not I, but Christ", will obtain the victory.

Roy Hession's book was a powerful influence in my Christian walk. Through it God and His Holiness became a reality. It set my dry heart on fire, and gave me a new hope in what God will do with His people. I am buying 10 copies to pass out to other brothers in Christ. It's worth your time!

A POWERFUL BOOK IN A SMALL PACKAGE
A friend gave me a copy in college and I devoured it immediately. I like to underline the more meaningful passages and I found I was underlining the entire book. Roy and Revel Hession go straight to the heart of what is means to follow Jesus and seeing Him as all we need, as the truth, as the door, as the way, as the end and for others. The Hessions write in a powerful style that few modern day authors can emulate. The 96 pages make for a powerful book in a small package.

Awakens the truth in you
This is such an awesome book. Finished it within a week, and I plan to share it with my girls. Absolutely and positively a great pointer to the one and only thing that matters - Christ. I highly recommend this book to any heart that seems to have found itself wandering and dry. This will be a helpful aid leading you back to Christ, and as a result, awakens the truth in you.

We Would See Jesus
I'm reordering more copies of this wonderful book which has been one of my favorites for more than twenty years. The message is one sorely needed in every Christian life - only Jesus is worthy of our attention and adoration, that seeing Him is the solution to every problem of our lives. He is an unfailing Source of life and liberty. All else fades into insignificance as we fix our spiritual vision upon Him.

A must read book for a victorious Christian walk.
Reading this book was like the getting to know the Lord over again. To be made aware of how far my path has wondered from His.Refreshing to see how easy, but painful, to get back on the path, and what is required to stay their.I use to think brokeness was something to be feared. But, Oh,what freedom it can offer. The book reveals living the independent life, from God,is not freedom, but bondage. This needs to be read and re-read,it has a way of bringing the Word's basic truth's to applicable living. An other book similar to this is "A Chritianity That Really Works". By Ron Marr

This book answers questions on how to deal with failure.
Back in the 1960's, we met Roy Hession and his first wife, Revel, at a retreat where they were sharing. We had never heard honesty and openness from Christians like that before. They told how sin keeps us from that abundant life that Jesus promised and how important it was to start right where we live, in our homes, and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any sin that was blocking Him from filling us to overflowing. Calvary Road helped us to see how we had been exusing sin rather than calling it what it was, how we had been "stuffing it" rather than repenting. We thought that the way was to climb up, but we saw the way up is down, down to the foot of the cross. Jesus began to reveal Himself as we allowed Him to show us where we needed His light and cleansing. As we humbled ourselves before Him, He has shown us that this simple way of walking in His light and repentance and coming to the cross is the result of seeing Jesus. Jesus has transformed and is continuing to transform us into His image and our marriage gets sweeter and sweeter as we both keep our eyes on Him, putting Jesus first, serving each other out of love for Jesus. We highly recommend this book and also "We Would See Jesus", he and Revel's second book.

A lot of great stuff in a tiny little book
The Calvary Road is a small book, barely 100 pages. It has so much quality revelation in it, that it has better content than most 200-300 page books.

Roy Hession really wrote a timeless classic when he authored this book. I have never read a better description of the need to walk in the light. Hession describes why it is important for Christians to walk in openness, brokenness, and transparency. I was continually amazed at how Hession was able to communicate such vital and important messages in so few words and sentences. As I was reading this book I could sense the light in my head turning on and realizing how this book was talking about my life.

This is one of the books that really has to become foundational in a Christian's library. Some books are called, "Essential" to the Christian faith. This book belongs under that title. This book can be read in one sitting, easily. It's the kind of title that you want to review at least once per year.

Never before have I seen a book like this. The major theme to this book is the concept of walking in the light. This is an issue that hasn't gotten enough attention in the Christian world. This message can't be ignored by any Christian. Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, etc. this book applies to you. Many Christian churches do things very differently, but this principle of walking in the light can't be ignored by any of us. And because of a user friendly book like this, ignorance isn't an excuse for any of us.

I highly recommend this book to ALL Christians. Roy Hession has produced such a great title that all Christians should read it at least once.
