Anyone who wants to know anything signifcant about US sports history ought ot read this book. Brad Herzog clearly demonstrates that he knows his stuff. He's also an outstanding writer. I'm looking for any other books he's written.

This is awesome reading. The book will provide years and years of colorful discussions and arguments. By reading the book, I learned so much about sports history.

This book stimulates as much thought as discussion. While packed with information, Brad Herzog challenges the reader to contemplate both the contributions of each subject, and the ranking assigned each. His rankings are well thought-out,the writing good, and the book is engaging. I loved it!

Hoopmania has information that most basketball fans know, but what I found interesting was the new information. I like the way the book is organized, it made reading the facts and statistics easy.Before I read this book, I aready knew a lot about basketball trivia, but this book helped me learn much more. I never knew how basketball was invented.

Why is this book so important? It's part of the American Dream to travel the open road and see what's happening in the small towns and the big cities and put our lives in perspective. Nowhere else in the world are people so mobile and able to just travel from state to state seeing deserts and mountains and oceans and farmlands. That's what Brad Herzog uncovers -- that feeling of getting out of town, out of the box, and meeting people, making contacts and broadening horizons.

Brad Herzog has done a masterful job of providing insight into America by searching for lost virtues in several tiny American cities and towns. This book was not only interesting, it was a lesson in history. I highly recommend "States of Mind" to anyone who enjoys a good travelogue and who is craving a different angle than what most travel books offer.

This is the first book that I have picked up in a long time, and I can't seem to put it down. The author has lived my dream, so for the time being, I can live my dream vicariously through his writings. Mr. Herzog has enabled me, through his writing style, to visualize every little detail of his journey, making his journey mine as well. I recommend this book to anyone who has ever dreamed of seeing America, but is lacking the motivation to act. Thank you, Brad Herzog!
