2 in 20 is a Must
This book is a MUST for any teen who is questioning, just coming out to themselves, or don't have many other GLBT friends to relate to. I read this when I came out to myself almost 2 years ago, and it was an enormous breath of fresh air. FINALLY- some thing I could relate to. I've shared this book w/ my other gay and bisexual friends, and they love it too. It's a perfect "coming out" gift. :) It's worth every penny and share it with your friends!

You are not alone
A friend of mine was going through a tough time in college because he was starting to "come out" for the first time. He was terrified that nobody would accept him anymore. I ordered this book for him and he really enjoyed reading it (I read it as well). It helps to read about people who are going through the same thing you are. The stories are all real; some are happy & some are not, but that's true life. This book had a positive effect on my friend & I'm sure it will have a positive effect on you as well!

One of the best books for GLBTQ youth
This is a must read if you are questioning, or you know that you are lesbigaytrans. The positive outcome stories are reassuring, and there is a list of more resources at the end of the book. The list includes similar books, and I think there also is a list a groups that would be usefull. If this book sounds like it could help you, BUY IT!! You'll be GLAAD you did. (Pardon the pun)

Women's Voices
I read this book over a year ago, so I don't remember every detail. However...

You know how people say that women do not have a voice in male dominated societies, and one goal of feminism is to foster new voices for women, so that we may express ourselves and have a tradition of our own? Well, the idea in this book is that the women that these authors worked with do have a voice of their own. It may be subversive in their societies, it may often have to work through riddles, but it is there, and well-developed. And highly expressive.

The authors make the argument that in the study of gender relations, the subversive women's voices are assumed not to exist while in this case, they are present. If you're involved in gender studies and Indian Studies, this is a fine book and one which ought to be read frequently.

But even for someone not involved in these subject areas, these are clever women with entertaining songs and stories--I refer to both the authors and the Indian women here--which anyone can find wisdom in.

A must-read for teens
I read this book over ten years ago and found it very helpful and interesting. It showed me that I wasn't the only person who had these feelings, though at the time I was certain there was something terribly wrong with me. It was nice to know I was not alone...

Don't do it.
Well, well well. I thought this book would be a good idea to enligten my beautiful son Seth to my new found alternative lifestyle. I came out just three months ago, after three failed marraiges and one undelivered mail order bride. I gave lil' Seth this book to try to help him understand why Dwight and Daddy are always going to the golf course in shorts. Let me just tell you, Seth won't even look at me now. He's unresponsive to my fatherly affections and is almost catatonic when I pick him up for my weekend visits. It's like parenting a turnip. So all I have to say, is wait until your child sees enough Jerry Springer shows to understand that Daddy's gay. In conclusion, I feel that this book has ruined my relationship with my son - my pride and joy - for the remainder of my natural life. I think I'm going to have to buy a kitten. In retrospect I feel I would have had a better chance of showing my son the benifits of my lifestyle without the aid of your phony book! Love one another, and try to be open minded. -James.

Good Book
Great book - from the point of view of a young daughter bragging to classmates that she has three fathers - the reactions follow. Bonus - book has multicultural characters.

Great book!
This is a great book. Do not hesitate to buy it. See also Melanin Sun!
