My First Hymnal
This book is excellent! My daughter is 22 months old and LOVES this book. We got the CD, too, and now she sits and flips through the book looking for the songs playing on the CD. A great way to begin to introduce Christian hymns and praise songs to young children.

My First Hymnal: Seventy-Five Favorite Bible Songs and What
My 4-year-old granddaughter checked this book out at her church library and absolutely refuses to give it back. She carries it all over the house, looks for a song, sings - at the piano, in bed, in the tub. Please, please put this book back in print. A child's Christ-centered guide.

This book encouraged my daughter to read and sing!
This book is great for the whole family! We enjoy singing and praising God along with the kids. It makes a meaningful gift.

Excellent for toddlers and preschoolers!
We received this tape as a Christmas gift and my 2-year-old daughter loves it. It has fun action songs and easy-to-learn words with simple truths about God and Jesus. My daughter even learned subtraction from one song which counts down from 5 ladybugs to no ladybugs. I'm buying a copy for my niece and for the children's choir at church. Highly recommended.

Five Little Ladybugs
My children absolutely love this book and video. The songs have a great message and are easy to learn for young children. My daughter received this as a Birthday gift and now we give this as a gift to her friends. They all love the music. I highly recommend these books and tapes for any child on your list.

Fun & Lively!
We used this tape, and several others by Karyn Henley, in our Christian child care centre. The children picked up the songs quickly and loved each one. They would often join in on the videos too. An excellent resource for anyone with little children who are lively. EXCELLENT!

A great book that helps kids learn the importance of memorizing scripture (after all, Jesus did!)and how and when they can apply it to their life.

great way to help kids deal with the pressures of life
This is a fun and easy way for kids to not only learn and memorize the scriptures, but understand what they really mean and put them to use. My 7 year old, whom I have to fight with to do simple math or other lesson, LOVES doing it every night. I have seen a lot of growth in him. His abilities to deal with the, uh, challenges of an older brother have greatly improved. There is less bickering and nitpicking in the house since we started this. Even for families that don't read the scriptures on a regular basis, this is really a good thing for the youth of today to fall back on when given the pressures that they can come across. The lessons refer to passages in the bible and really put them into an understandable context. There are hands on types of things to help to reinforce the lessons. I would recommend this book to any family that is concerned about the moral strength of their children.

The Beginners Bible
I highly recommend The Beginners Bible. There are colourful illustrations for each Bible story. Each Bible story is a good length for younger children. The Beginners Bible is written in such a way that it is easy for children to understand the message in each Bible story. My children (ages 5, 3, 2) all enjoy the Beginners Bible. They like me to read it to them, and they also like to sit and look at the pictures and try to read it themselves.

Child-Sensitive Teaching: Helping Children Grow a Living Faith in a Loving God

If spiritual growth of children is important to you
Very readable - good for parents and college students planning to work with children. Shows how spiritual growth parallels developmental growth - what can a child of 3 understand about God? What spiritual concepts should a 4th grader be able to grasp and engage in? I've used this book both as a children's pastor and as a textbook in a children's ministries course I teach - I highly recommend it. Even though it's out of print, it's worth the search if you can find it - they should reprint it!

Great for kids!
Introducing young children to God is simple. All you have to do is to read them this, then, when they're old enough, they can read it by themselves, and alone they will learn God's precious Word. "The Beginner's Bible" is a summary of the Bible stories told especially for children and toddlers. With this book, they can learn all they can about the morals taught by the Bible.

As you may have though, this book is a nice, little collection of classic Bible stories, accompanied by cute, little illustrations. With beautiful pictures and a text in told from a child's language, this Bible is one that your child will enjoy - forever!

Short length stories, wonderful bedtime read.
This has 'cute' illustrations that children love to look at and toddler-level wording that they can really understand. This has been the favorite children's book for my 2 year old for quite some time. Every bedtime it's 'I want Bible dory!!!' Worth every penny!

Great "Good Book" Helps Kids Read The Good News In Nice Way
"The Beginners Bible" makes a wonderful first Christmas, Easter or religious gift to any child hearing God's Word for the first time.

Seperated into short, easy-to-grasp chapters, it features gorgeous, colorful but simple illustrations of the Bible's most vivid, even humorous stories. (the talking donkey, Elijah's besting of Baal, Jesus and Zaccheus, etc.) It tells the book's most spectacular stories (the parting of the Red Sea, Jesus' walking on water) with simply expressed awe that should impress children hearing it the first time. God's love and power is always written into the final line of each story, things as reassuring to children as a parent's goodnight kiss. ("God had saved his people again!" "Mary loved Him, Joseph loved Him, and God loved Him.")

The New Testament portion emphasizes Jesus' parables and miracles, and tells Christianity's most moving stories (Judas' betrayal, the Revelation) with tact few religious writers would attempt. You'll find no better, more contextual explanation to a child of why Christ died than the "Sadness" chapter in this book.

Overall, "The Beginners' Bible" is the best attempt yet to bring Jesus' love to His most youngest, most treasured ones, and is a book to read or be read to. HIGHLY recommended for families with young children.
