A Total revalation to how you see Queen Elizabeth I
This book changed my views of the first Queen Elizabeth. I believed she was a fair and just queen who did what was best for her people, but this book shows how her selfishness caused the demise of a young girl. Amy married Robert (later Earl of Liecester) for love, she loved him and he loved her. But she later discover that his love for her didn't last because he was obsessed with having a crown. He gave everything for the young princess, and she would build him up and then tear him right back down. However no matter how angry she got a her "Sweet Robin, Hey Eyes" it was never angry enough to send him home to his wife, who longed to be with him so much, so much it was enough for her to plot her own demise. And excellent page-turner you wont be able to set down.

Interesting characters.
I enjoyed this book mainly because of the well-developed characters. No one was all good or all bad, like in so many novels. I especially liked the way the author wrote different chapters from the perspectives of the three main characters, letting each one speak for him/herself, instead of the usual method of writing the entire book from one character's viewpoint. It let the reader see the story from different perspectives and explained the motivation behind the characters' actions.

Not The Best...
Heaven On Earth had an interesting premise, certainly different than the usual time travel romances. The fact that both Luke and Casey were time travellers was a wonderful basis for the book, however, a few things made the story dull and lacking in spark.

The hero, Luke, was very hard to identify with and seemed distant. His character wasn't explored enough and left me with many unanswered questions. His physical description was also lacking. He talked a lot about New Age concepts but wasn't clear enough on what exactly he did and why he did it. Too vague in his explanation of why he was time traveling.

Casey was a great character and she was written well. But I felt almost as if she was more concerned with having a child than with being in love with Luke.

The descriptions of New Mexico and of the customs were excellent. It made for a wonderful setting for Heaven On Earth, but the lack of good characters made the story hard to get through no matter how well the setting was painted out. It was a book that you would either love in the first twenty pages or hate by the beginning of the first chapter.

I LOVED IT!
I finished reading this book yesterday, and I can't stop thinking about it. As a single woman, the heroine touched my heart with her honesty and the hero Luke -- well, he's worth going back in time to find. The historical information was thought-provoking and the picturesque way Ms. O'Day-Flannery paints Santa Fe, I'm spending my next vacation there. This was a nice, cozy read about a sensative, developing relationship and the growth of a woman. Perfect for my rainy day yesterday!

Spectacular
I would like to comment to ALL just how much I Loved reading, Constance O'Day-Flannery new book, " Heaven on Earth" . A friend sent me her book. This was the very first in 54 years of life, I have ever read a romance novel. She is one Lady I plan on reading more of. I am now an advivd reader. I truly enjoyed how indepth she can see life, love and the true meaning of why we are here. Travelling in time was an experience I had not had done before. What irony is, just last night, I watched the movie Zorro and totally relate her book to that time. Every page is an adventure. I found myself scolding Casey, and loving Luke. When she turned the tables, I listened, watched and learned. Thank you so much Julia T. Stout
