The Spirit filled life Bible
I am a pastor of the Foursquare Gospel denomination in Sydney Australia. As a teacher and a preacher of the Word of God I use this Bible and have encouraged my congregation to obtain same. The footnotes, reviews, Word Wealth, that explain the original Hebrew or Greek word, along with Kingdon Dynamics is an excellent tool for any Bible student.

An awesome Bible!
This is not your average Bible! The commentary is spiritually insightful, the "Kingdom Dynamics" are inspiring, the "Truth-In-Action's" are practical, and the "Word Wealth" Hebrew & Greek definitions are a definate plus! Maps, timelines, charts, chapter outlines...my favorite bible ever!

Accessability and depth are key
Jack Hayford has succeded in presenting the Bible in a accessable form for both layman and student. The unique strength of the original Hebrew and Greek manuscripts are presented in 'windows' while you read. The concise but complete concordance and also the references below each page make this single book a cleverly chosen set of tools to gain understanding.

Fabulous Bible!
Every time someone sees my Bible, they want one! Finally, my spiritual guide admired it and I gave up my tattered copy to him. Now I'm replacing it with the exact same one. This Bible has MANY useful study features. "Word Wealth" (for key words) discusses the root of the Hebrew or Greek word and the word's various uses throughout the Bible. There are extensive footnotes on nearly every page giving additional information and background on key verses; the section on God's covenant with Abraham, alone is worth the price of the book. In addition, there are maps, timelines, comparisons of the four Gospels---all in an easy to read format (NKJ version). Each NT book is preceded by a discussion of the authorship---my only complaint is that these discussions don't go deeply enough into this topic. Also, it's a good size: by no means small, but compact enough to haul with you to church. Several scholars teamed on this Bible, which is written to match Hayford's beliefs (I would say that it supports a conserative, not fundamentalist, viewpoint). To better benefit from all the information packed into this Bible, take the time to read the keys and symbols at the front of the book. This Bible is sturdy and well-bound: after several years of regular use, it had experienced no binding problems whatsoever. Overall, a fabulous Bible that you will use for years to come, with study aids that will enlighten and enrich. Strangely, Amazon.com offers seemingly the same hardcover version at 3 different price points, so look for the least expensive (around $27).

Holy Bible New King James Version Spirit=Filled
This has become my favorite Bible. It has study notes written by several present day scholars that present both present knowledge and the opinions of ancient scholars. The New King James Bible is easy to read. The study notes allow the reader to follow up on both a subject and word. In addition through out the text are notes on Hebrew and Greek words and Kingdom dynamics that relate the text to present conditions. I would rate it as the best study bible available today.

Good teaching notes, great word study, and helpful insites.
My Sister was very blessed by this study Bibble. It geve her new insites and strengthed her faith.

Awesome conduit to forgiveness
This book helped me to let go and forgive an injustice that I've been struggling with for two years. The Lord led me to this book and He used it to help me finally let go and forgive, it's the only way to really be able to move on past tragedy...if you're suffering with how to forgive or survive tragedy this book is the perfect place to begin...and end.

Powerful Book
I really loved this book and I intend to read it over many times. Jack Hayford's writing is direct, powerful, and penetrates deep into insights from Jesus' last words' that I had never seen before. This book is not too long (can be read in one sitting), but no words are wasted. This is not a book for those who want just some simple nice words to make you feel good. But is is a book with principles of truth to live by that are worth meditating over. I highly recommend it for anyone.

Super Book--And Practical!
Practical Insights into the Mechanics of Conflict January 6, 2003
I read this book nearly 10 years ago and found it very helpful. As a pastor of over 23 years and a survivor of a few humdinger conflicts, it was comforting to know that conflicts have patterns. It also helped me control my own responses.

I wouldn't wish church conflicts on a dog, but they seem to come (to most of us in the ministry, not dogs!) no matter what precautions we take. But they can often be contained early, and this book can help. It will also help you accept that conflict is common and to be expected, therefore leading us to the conclusion that one should be as prepared as possible. The chapters are all pretty good, but those written by Speed Leas excel.

The time to read this book is before (or early on)conflict begins. Every pastor needs to be prepared for what is inevitable. Lay leaders (board members, etc.) can also benefit from this book. Also helpful would be Terry Muck's book, "When to Take A Risk."

Practical Insights into Church Management
The authors approach Church Management from their various perspectives, but all seem to have a grip on managing a church, everywhere from facilities to staff to offering security to planning.

This is a fine book with some great specific suggestions.

An EXCELLENT guide to understanding Spirit-Led Shepherding.
In "Pastors of Promise," Jack Hayford, Senior Pastor of The Church On The Way (located in Van Nuys, California) calls fellow pastors in ministry to a deeper, more passionate fellowship with Christ. He challenges them to focus on worship and pastoral humanity before methods. With his insightful and compassionate mentoring, Pastor Jack helps the reader understand what it takes to cultivate God's promise of fruitfulness in one's life as a shepherd. This book offers passion, compassion and promise for the pastors and challenges the readers to reflect on the 'big picture' - from God's perspective. . The common thread that runs through this book is: "Worship through Servant-Hood."

The Church has a place of spiritual mission to preach and reach the world with the Gospel and lay loving hands on the sick to heal and deliver the oppressed. The ministry of the Church is to extend through every member of the Body of Christ, facilitated by worship and pastoral leadership. However, this vision and the mission of the church can only come after the discipline of personal devotion. Pastor Jack points out that worship and servant-hood are to be pastoral priorities. It is the fountainhead of everything the Church will ever have - God's presence, His power, the guidance of the Word and the Holy Spirit, the healing of souls, bodies, families, and the evangelism of the lost.

This book has been a timely word. One of the more refreshing attributes found in this book is the fact that Pastor Jack always avoids disputes on matters where Christians disagree, and defends those beliefs which Christians hold in common. His work has transcended denominational lines. My personal ministry has been greatly impacted by this book. This book is a very enlightening and refreshing work of the Holy Spirit through Pastor Jack Hayford.

Encouragement and exhortation for all in ministry!
Do you ever feel like your ministry is going no where ? Have you ever wrestled with thoughts of giving up ? Pastor Jack shares very candidly from his first call over 25 years ago, from wondering where he was going, to why was he there; if you have ever struggled with God's call on your life then pick up this book! Paul told Timothy to "fan into flame the gift of God in you"; now, Pastor Jack tells us how to do that! Pastor Jack has been blessed with an awesome gift of expression via the pen, and this is the *best* If you or someone you know is in a church leadership position, get this book into their hands! In a word, awesome!

Awesome bible for the new believer to the well founded.
This is one of the easiest and most helpful bibles any Spirit Filled believer could own. A majority of our congregation use this bible for our everyday study and church. We sometimes jokingly refer to ourselvesd as the Jack Hayford bible cult.

Amazing.
This bible is great. It shows the original words
and tells you the in-depth meaning. Very
refreshing.

One of the most indepth & informational Bibles ever...
This Bible came highly recommended to me and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it! This Bible is packed with so much information and commentaries from world-famous (and not so famous) evangelists, preachers, pastors and teachers. I love the in-depth commentaries and the Greek word translations and also the "Kingdom Dynamics" and "Truth in Action" charts. All these are simple study tools to help anyone looking to understand the Bible more. I felt that I could dig deeper into the Truth. I use it for QT and for reading in general. I enjoy reading these study tools over and over again. Though, at first, I wasn't used to the New King James Version, and it did take some time to get used to. But, this particular Bible with a built in reference tool is very useful to any Christian who wants to study the Word more.

A "Must Have" for Anyone
The Spirit Filled Bible is one of the best Bibles I've ever bought. In fact, I'm on my second one! The Word Wealth, Kingdom Dynamics, Word References, and Study Notes are excellent and very helpful for anyone ranging from a new Christian to a seasoned veteran just looking for something special to treat themselves. This Bible is loaded with lots of extras that are practical, useful, easy to understand guides to help the reader to study and apply the Word to their everyday lives! I love it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good Bible.

Read this book NOW if you struggle with sexual addiction!
One of my seminary counseling teachers wanted to make Pure Desire required reading during the Fall 2001 semester, but had read it too late to include it in our class reading list. Her strong recommendation of this book made me want to read it ASAP, and I managed to fit it in between my regular course reading. It was definitely worth the free time I had to sacrifice in order to read it. Suffice to say, Pure Desire is one of the best books on healing sexual addiction that I've ever read. I can say that because I've been able to personally investigate the book's background and apply its truths to my own life, since I live very close to Ted Roberts' church in Gresham, Oregon.

In addition to reading the book, I attended Dr. Roberts' three-day Pure Desire Seminar, which is intended for pastors who want to start a ministry for sexual addicts in their own churches. During the seminar, I (and others) directly questioned Dr. Roberts and his staff about their methods, theology, etc. Their answers backed up what I read in the book, and my interaction with them showed me their genuine desire to see people healed from the bondage of sexual addiction. Finally, I visited one of their For Men Only (FMO) sexual addiction healing groups as part of my seminary internship, and I found it so helpful for my own struggles that I have stayed with it for almost nine months and counting.

Basically, I have found the methods and ideas presented in the book to actually work in real life. For example, one of the main healing strategies Dr. Roberts advocates is to become part of a small group where men can "confess [their] trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that [they] may be healed (James 4:7)." I have seen a number of men go through the FMO group I attend, and there seem to be two types. First, there are the ones who know they have a problem (usually because they have gotten into trouble due to their addiction), but are not really ready to deal with it. These men tend to stay for awhile, and then leave the group to go back to their addiction. Second, there are the ones who have truly hit bottom and are willing to persevere on the long road to healing. It is these men who are honest with their struggles, and therefore they avoid such traps as rationalizing and compartmentalizing their addiction. Sure, we all take turns with discouragement and despair, and lapses do occur. But when others are there to lovingly bear the burden and provide accountability, it helps us get through the valley and go back up the mountainside. Of all the small groups I've been in over the years, this one has by far been the best for my own personal healing. Therefore, I can vouch firsthand for Dr. Roberts' exhortation to avoid the trap of isolation (which makes it easy to act out) by becoming part of a healthy group situation.

I believe that the central theme of Pure Desire is the restoration of healthy, loving, and holy relationships with God, self, and others. Sexual addiction is a symptom of a deeper relational problem. It is a sinful solution to a real desire for intimacy on the part of the addict. Pure Desire presents a way out of this trap that works if you really want to follow it. No, its not easy or quick, because true healing in this area takes time. And to be honest, it can be difficult to find help for this issue due to the closed-minded attitude of some churches toward sexual issues and problems. But it is possible, because I have found Christians willing to help, and over time I have observed healing gradually taking place in myself and others. If you are struggling with sexual addiction, you need to read this book (and others like it) and get help. You can pay now by owing up to your problem and getting on the road to healing, or you can pay later with your marriage, your reputation, or even your life. It's up to you, man.

Read this book ASAP if you stuggle in this area.

Eternal Insight
Pastor Ted Roberts boldly and openly addresses the issue of sexual addiction.

Pastor Roberts delivers an incredibly powerful teaching based upon his life experience. His experiences (which make "Pure Desire" riveting) are plentiful and relevant to this subject. Ted's challenges growing up (seven stepfathers in an alcoholic environment), his fantastic adventure as a Marine fighter pilot in Vietnam, his commitment to Jesus Christ, his battle (and victory) against addiction, and Ted's twenty-plus years in the counseling office all contribute richly to a message that will help people move out of their cell of despair and into the full blessing of God.

The Lord has placed His hand on Pastor Roberts, giving him a mission and a message for those who are ensnared in the web of addiction. If you struggle with sexual bondage and wish to change your habits, "Pure Desire" will describe how to do that. This book delivers a gracious word that will give you hope and encouragement and a practical approach to overcome destructive habits.

If you are not battling addiction, "Pure Desire" will provide insight and understanding of the behaviors (and mind set) that block so many from reaching their God-given dreams and desires. This book offers insight on how to help others climb out of the pit of shame and step into the fullness of God's love.

Don't miss this spirit-filled message. It will enrich your life.

After the gospel, this is THE most important truth to know
I believe that after THE GOSPEL, This is THE most important truth that anyone can ever hear. In fact, I often describe it as "THE GOSPEL FOR CHRISTIANS." If believers really embrace this extremely motivation truth, their lives will never be the same again.

Since reading "This Was Your Life?" in 1999, there is not a day that I do not think about living for THAT DAY instead of just TODAY. I have now bought over 400 copies of the book and about 20 copies of the video series.

I have distibuted these copies resulting in overwhelmingly positive and grateful responses. Most people have had similar reactions to mine and have in turn ordered more books to give to the believers they knonw. There is just no way to measure the far-reaching impact this book will have on eternity.

This book has significantly changed where I seek reward!
This book should be read by every follower of Christ. It motivates the reader toward significant change. I wish I had this guide much earlier in my Christian walk. I would not have wasted so many years seeking man's approval and praise. I am now focused on working for Christ's honor and glory.

The authors guide the reader through a personal soul-searching exercise that peels away all self-deception until the individual's true core is exposed. Then, they guide the reader to an uplifting knowledge of how to truly follow Christ. The book is filled with practical instruction on how to change.

I have already given away ten copies to friends. After reading it, several have said to me, "This is exactly what I have been looking for!"

This is a wonderful book
This is a wonderful book! It's an urgent warning and a compelling call to understand our accountability for our lives. It is thoroughly referenced, comprehensive, and slyly humorous. This slim volume powerfully guides the reader into searching personal reflections and into a deeper relationship with God. Rick Howard is Pastor of Peninsula Christian Center in Redwood City, California. The Judgment Seat of Christ is Rick's lifetime message which he has given in 80 countries around the world. Jamie Lash is Director of Student Development at a Christian university in Dallas, Texas. He leads seminars and writes on Christian growth. Jamie is perhaps best known in the Washington, D.C. area for his popular "Victory Seminar" program wihch was heard on WCTN radio. In 1987, Jamie saw Rick Howard's video on The Judgement Seat of Christ. He says it was the most powerful lesson he had ever heard. He contacted Rick to see if he had written a book on the topic. That conversation led to a collaboration of the two men. Heavenly rewards is a neglected subject and many believers know little of what the Bible teaches about it. But just imagine meeting the King of Kings and Lord of All with every thing you ever said, or did, or even thought, exposed in His glorious light! This Was Your Life explores what scripture tells us of the hereafter while guiding us to a more abundant life here and now. The 15 short chapters have titles such as "Encountering the Christ of Revelation," "Stay Out of His Chair," "Olympic Motivation," and "Seizing the Time." Each chapter is unique and nourishment for the spirit. The discussion questions included make this gem of a book an excellent choice for a family or study group to read together. If you long to hear Jesus say, :"Well done, good and faithful servant" -- this book is for you. If you plan to read only one spiritual book this year, This Was Your Life should be the one to read and reread.
