I liked the book Eye of the Beholder!!!!!
I just finished reading Eye of the Beholder. It is a very interesting novel. It keeps you very interested and you just don`t want to put it down. I liked the novel for the most part. The two main characters Tyler and Lymie get into a little trouble during the novel with their interests in art. I like the novel because of what happens during the novel. I would urge a friend to read this novel because it is a fun book to read, and if I liked it I`m positive that they would like it to.

A must read book for Daniel Hayes fans.
The book Eye of the Beholder is excellent! As Tyler and Lymie get into trouble after planting fake sculpted heads that they carved in imitation of Badoglio. He is an artist from there hometown. This book is a must read for all Hayes fans especially if you liked The Trouble with Lemons!!!!!!!!

Eye of the Beholder review
The book "Eye of the Beholder" is a very good book. It is about two boys named Tyler McAllister and Lymie Lawrence, who are in the eight grade. They are staying together when they have the chicken pox. It is then when they hear about the Badoglio festival that will take place in Wakefield, Badoglio's hometown. The main reason for the festival is to let everyone see the two heads Badoglio made and threw into the Hoosickill River. The towns people were going to try and find the heads. Lymie and Tyler made two heads that looked like Badoglio's and threw them into the river shortly before the town was going to look for Badoglio's heads. I really do think you should read this book so you can see what happens in the rest of the book. I liked the book "Eye of the Beholder" because it seemed like it was something that could have really happened.

Boccacio's Decameron is a classic indeed!
For a book to be even considered to a classic; then it, i.e., the book has to stand the test of time (and by so been read, pondered on and enjoy by several generations). The Decameron (Oxford World's Classics) by Giovanni Boccaccio, et al is one of these few books, e.g., The Odyssey, Thus Spoke Zarathustra et al. The story follows a plethora of storytellers whom all have gone to the countryside to escape the plague. The stories are filled with bravura, vigor, fortitude, a bit of sex and many other subjects (that are all written with an uncanny ability). If one considered oneself to be a scholar or a learned man then this book, i.e., The Decameron (Oxford World's Classics) by Giovanni Boccaccio, et al, is a must have; since not owning or having read it, then one as a person/scholar/learnedman must be considered less then civilized.

100+1 tales= a great book.
I had to read a good part of "The Decameron" last quarter and I have gone back to read more stories from it even though the Fall quarter is over. This is a great book: funny, entertaining, subtly revolutionary, insightful, and superbly well-written. Approach it without fear. It is a Classic, but it will have you laughing, thinking, and learning far better than any current best-seller. Anyone with an interest in journalism and/or history will profit from Boccaccio's Introduction, at the beginning of the First Day. His description of the Plague in Florence is vivid and gripping, and this eventually provides the background for the setting of the one hundred and one tales that seven young women and three young men will narrate in a villa away from the dying city. Also, the Introduction to the Fourth Day presents the reader with an unfinished, but hilarious story about a man who has been kept away from women. This story is what my teacher called the 101st, and I have to agree with her.

Do not think that all "The Decameron" deals with is sex. The mostly illicit sexual encounters depicted are some times funny, sometimes sad, but they share a common trait with the stories from the Tenth Day, for example (these ones are mostly about sacrifice, abnegation, and servitude), or with those of the Second: Boccaccio's concern for his society and the terrible tensions that had reached a breaking point by the 14th century. The Plague, in Boccaccio's universe, acts as a catalyst of emotions, desires, and changes that had to come.

Read, then, about Alibech putting the Devil back in Hell, Lisabetta and her pot of basil, Ser Ceperello and his "saintly" life, Griselda and her incredible loyalty in spite of the suffering at the hands of a God-like husband, Tancredi and his disturbing love for his daughter, Masetto and the new kind of society he helps create with some less-than-religious nuns, and then it will be easier to understand why Boccaccio is so popular after 650 years. And although it may be skipped by most readers, do not miss the Translator's (G. M. McWilliam) introduction on the history of "The Decameron" proper, and that of its many, and mostly unfortunate, translations into English. This book is one of the wisest, most economic ways of obtaining entertainment and culture. Do not miss it.

A Book of Laughter
Ten young Florentine noblemen and women escaping the Black Death in Florence in 1348 entertain themselves by each relating a story per day for ten days - 100 entertaining stories in all, mostly set in and around medieval Florence. Although famously naughty, none of these stories strikes a modern reader as more than mildly erotic. Rather, they consistently astonish by their thoroughly modern message that women are as good as men, nobility doesn't come from birth, sanctity doesn't come from the church, and - above all - true love must never be denied. Amazingly, Boccaccio often delivers this message while pretending to say the exact opposite; sometimes he presents very sympathetic characters who get away with things thought scandalous in his time, offering a mere token condemnation at the end, while other times he depicts someone actually following the accepted code and committing some horrible act of cruelty in the process. Either way - and despite his claims to be upholding convention - we always know what he really means, and apparently he didn't fool too many people in his own day either.

But one doesn't need to focus on the revolutionary aspects of the Decameron to enjoy the book; each of the stories delights the reader with a different tasty morsel, and, you can read as much or as little at a time as you please. Once you get past the introduction, (and that's probably the most serious part of the book, so be sure not to give up before you get to the first story) the stories will make you laugh, make you cringe, and make you sit on the edge of your seat. Inspiring authors from Chaucer to Shakespeare and entertaining audiences for over 700 years, the Decameron continues to delight.

Fabuolous book!
I bought this book last year, and have nearly worn it out!! I am studying towards vet school, and this book is invaluable to me when I work as a vet assistant in an equine hospital. I would reccomend it to people with more than an average interest in equine medicine, and with basic knowlledge of horse anatomy and veterinary terminology.

A must have book for all horse owners
I received this book as a birthday gift 6 years ago and it has been close at hand ever since! It is helpful for all horse owners from novice to advanced levels of veterinary knowledge.

An outstanding book!
This book is a must for all horse owners. It is an invaluable reference tool. I bought my first edition of this book 18 years ago, and it is the single most useful book I have ever purchased.

The right approach - computers do it for me
Although it may seem simple, so far computers did not actually do work for us, the did the work instead of other tools. Word ist just an electronic typewriter, but did it write the text for me? No! The next generation of computers will be different. They will actually do work for us, they will make their own decisions and execute predefined work tasks in an intelligent way. Sounds spooky? Maybe, but if you trust your secretary, you should also trust your computer. Hayes-Roth and Amor show us how this brave, new world may look like. Very interesting read, indeed!

Great book on technology
Roth and Amor provide a great book on how to simplify technology. If we do not try to simplify it, it will become unmanageable in the future. The book shows what the problems are and how to solve them. Unfortunately, production was weak and there are some figures are not very well readable. Please change this in the reprint.

Designing a Me-Centric World is cool!
This book talks about a radical change in IT. It shows how computers should be programmed. Not in a tool-centric way, but in a user-centric way, meaning that not the functionality is the main focus, but the usefulness of the system towards the user. In many cases, you can see systems that are full of features everyone and nobody needs. If these systems would only provide the functionality that I need at a given time, it would reduce the complexity of that system and would enable me to do my work faster. By connecting all sorts of devices and services, it is possible to create new me-centric service chains that can give better value to me.

The book provides a lot of good ideas how this can look like in the future, but also shows what is necessary from a development point of view to make this happen. Technical, social and business aspects are introduced and enable the solution architect for a new product/service to make it me-centric.

A must for product development!

Brilliant; but tedious
I had to read this book as an assignment for my 8th grade Language Arts class. I read it, and was left feeling cold, but along with that the ending was actually well-written. "Flyers" gets pretty tedious... the topics(which are usually boring ones) usually just ramble on and on, for about 20 pages filled with hard-to-read words. After about an hour, I had to either decide weather I would want to continue this book or not... but I finished it, and I'm surprised on how well the ending turned out. A book for fast readers.

Great!
I read this book, along with the rest of Daniel Hayes's books and I have to say,There great!

No Effect

No Effect
The book No Effect by Daniel Hayes was an excellent book. It was about a very confused 13 year old boy named Tyler McCallister in the 8th grade. He goes out for the schools varsity wrestling team when he's only in 8th grade, soon after that his best friend Lymie joins the team with him who is also and eigth grader. When Tylers Earth science teacher had collapsed and died in school she had to be replaced. The new Earth science teacher was Ms. Williams, Soon as Tyler set eyes on here he fell in love. He started dissing all his friends just so he could get to science class early as possible and stay after as long as possible. He would help her with cleaning and things to do around the class and obey her very well. The wrestling coach who was very mean and strict later on got a back injury while showing the kids a mountain climber. He was replaced with a young man named Chuckie, also Tylers next door neighboor. Tyler worked out really hard so he could impress Ms. Williams who was going Tylers first match. He fell in love with her so much he asked her to his Thanksgiving Day dinner. Chuckie came along too. They were allowwed to bring a guest. Little did Tyler know that Chuckie was dating the womend of his dreams. This made Tyler very depressed but it turns out ok in the end. If you want to learn more of what happened, read the book its excellent.

Interesting Novel
No Effect is a very interesting book. The main character is the best part of the book. The things he does in his book keeps the reader reading. His love of wanting to become atop contender is amazing. This is my favorite book that I've read. I actually wanted to keep reading once I started. The author explained the book well the way he wrote it. I think this book lets me know that if you work hard you can accomplish anything. The main character shows heart in this book. He pushes himself to accomplish things that are the best thing I like about that character.

Get In the Game
In the book No Effect The Charactor Tyler is a Young boy in the ninth grade that signs up for wrestling. He soon finds that it's not what he expected. For Tyler every time life starts to go good something bad always happends. Soon Tyler finds himself inlove with his science teacher Miss Williams, but he finds a shocking secret out about his teacher. I enjoyed his book. To find the secret you should read No Effect.

A Four Star Book
Trouble with Lemons is writen by Daniel Hayes. The setting of the story is in an old town and the time is summer. The protagonist is Tyler and he has asmatha and he is allergic to every thing. Another character is Lymie. He is one of Tylers best frends. The rising action is to find who killed the person in the quarry and how the body got there. The climax is when Tyler overheard Mark and Jack talking about something. I think the author was tring to teach people to think before doing something irresponsible. If you wait to long to tell someone that you did something wrong, the punishment is more severe than turning yourself in right away. I would recommend this book at the age limit of twelve years or older. I picked these ages because you might like mysteries and you might be surprised at who was in the quarry and who killed the person that was floting in the quarry dead.

This is not a sour Lemon!
The book Trouble with the Lemons was pretty good. I thought that it looked like a horrible book and was dreading to have to read it. But I enjoyed. It was a neat book to read and I would recommend you try it. The kid seems down to earth and everything. He made me feel like I had it good. His mom and older brother are famous movie stars, and his father died in a plane crash. The main character Tyler and his friend were swimming in the quarry and found a body. It was the one of BooBoo Anderson the school janitor. It is a murder mystery and if you like books with a lot action going on I really think you should try this book.

Interesting!
The Trouble with Lemons was written by Daniel Haynes. I just got done with it, and it was a good book. Tyler {the main character} and his buddy Lymie snuck out of the house one night and went swimming in the quarry and something bad happend! Tyler swam into a dead body! The setting is in a small town where not much happens, but this time a murder happens and no one knows why it happend. Tyler, Lymie, Mary Alice, and Chuckie are set on finding out who killed him. With danger and mystery around every corner, happines comes at the end. The reason I think the author wrote the book was no matter how much you can hate someone, they can turn out to be your best friend.
