This book was about a girl who loved horses.
Sarah was crazy about horses. She saw an ad about taking care of a horse for the winter. She asked her parents if she could take care of the horse and they said yes.

At first, Sarah thought that Barney wasn't a good horse. After a while, Sarah got used to Barney's personality. It wasn't easy for Sarah because Barney was a stubborn horse. Sarah received help in understanding Barney from Barney's owner.

This book will teach you to love horses for who they are.
Horse crazy Sarah finally gets to keep a horse for the winter, but this horse, Barney, isn't the horse of her dreams. Sarah thinks that Barney is a bad horse because of his dispotion. With a little help from Barney and his owner, Sarah realizes that Barney is just fine the way he is and starts to love him and his personality.

Simply Wonderful reading
My daughter is 6 years old and absolutely loved this book. Her grandparents live on a farm and she has heard stories of work horses and she somehow stumbled upon this book on her own at the library. When it was time to return this book, she searched for something similar and found Hurry! also by Jessie Haas and she was so excited. I also loved these books and immediately signed on to amazon.com to see if we could purchase them.

simply wonderful
This is a beautiful picture book, like all of the books in this series about Nora and her Grandparents farm. It shows how draft horses work on the farm and how caring a good farmer is to all the other aninals who live on the farm, be they residents or part of the natural enviroment. A wonderful story, simple and beautiful. The illustrations are true to life and make you feel like your at the farm with Nora.

Excellent story for ages 10 to adult
Anyone interested in animal training using operant conditioning (clicker training) will truly enjoy this story of a young boy learning how to train his dog with the help of a new neighbor. His sister also learns training techniques for her horse. But the story has even more to offer about how to shape your own life and help those close to you in a positive way. The author deals effectively with issues of grief due to the loss of a pet, reconciliation between a boy and his grandfather, and the often tested love between siblings. The message is of a teenage boy surviving difficult times and looking forward with hope to his future. If you want to remember how it feels to be young with a world of possibilities before you - read this book.

I really liked this book. It was really emotional and you would think that it was a true story because it sounded so real. It really came from the heart.I would reccomend this book to anybody that likes horses.

The worst part of the book was the first chapter.Hariets mother had died from a wreck. she was riding her horse when suddenly a tractor and trailor came over a hill and hit her.In her mother's will Hariet's mother wrote for her to go live with her Aunt Sarah. She didn't like her Aunt.

The thing that was most vivid to me was the desription of the horses. She described them so well I could picture them in my head. I think the climax was when Hariet ran away from her Aunts house. Her Aunt had slapped her because they got in a fight. Hariet finally realized that they had to get along because she had no place to go.

A must read book
Unbroken is about Harriet (Harry) and and Kid, (a horse) two orphans. Harry is sent to live with mean Aunt Sarah. Aunt Sarah talks badly about Harry's mother. Harry doesn't want to stay, but gradually gets used to the farm, and Aunt Sarah. Since school is too far away to walk, Harry tries her best to train Kid in time for school. I thougt this book was so awesome! This book is definitely a must read so read it!

A GREAT BOOK THAT HELD MY INTEREST
Unbroken is about a girl and her colt who are orphaned soon after the story began. They are sent to live with stern, harsh aunt who doesn't speak too nicely about the girl's parents. The girl and her colt move on the farm with her aunt. She gradually begins to get used to her aunt and her ways but her aunt makes her ride on the colt, who is not yet broken in yet. Then the girl gets curious and finds secrets in the house (I won't tell you what) and also gets rebellious (And I won't tell you what she does, for you'll have to read to find out.) But over all, it was a great book!

full of information for the begginner and expert
Jessie Haas does an excellent job of explaining everything for people who don't know much about keeping a horse, and at the same time providing a lot of information for the more knowledgable equestrian. I recommend it to any horse owner!

An excellent education in safe horsemanship for riders
This book provides an excellent education in safe horsemanship for riders of all ages. This will be required reading in our family as my children begin horseback riding lessons. Written with clarity and precision, it will prevent injuries for anyone who reads it.
