Entertaining and technical
I was asked to review this book for fellow classmates back in grad school, and I'm glad I did. Not just entertaining in making the physics, economics, and politics of groundwater interesting, the book is thorough in it's treatment of technical issues which make it valuable insight for engineers, planners, public officials, and anyone else concerned with the limited resource of fresh water. Compared to many engineering textbooks on similar subjects, this book deserves a 5 (along with "Battling the Inland Sea" and "The Great Thirst").

Applied Groundwater Modeling

Great book but the cover fell off due to poor binding
A great book for explaining the essentials of groundwater modeling including governing equations and statistical evaluation of numeric modeling. I just wish the publisher could produce a book that the cover didn't fall off within the first couple months of use.

Great content but poor binding
This text was used in my groundwater modeling class and was useful and instructive specifically for GMS and MODFLOW. The binding split after normal use during the quarter to almost every student enrolled in the course.

A great preview of modeling methodology
This text outlines the basic principles and problems faced by young groundwater modelers. The comprehensive interpretation of common challenges are handled with reference to real case studies. Basic steady-state groundwater modeling is supplimented with transient examples. It is a great text for any groundwater modeling class at the undergraduate or graduate level.

Groundwater Geochemistry
Deutch's Groundwater Geochemistry is one of the most up-to-date and comprehensive books available on the topic. I have used the equations presented and the insightful explanations of nutrient transport in groundwater to clarify aspects of my thesis project on soil characterization. I highly recommend it to anyone in need of clear, concise explanations about phenomena involving groundwater.

Terrigenous Clastic Depositional Systems: Applications to Fossil Fuel and Groundwater Resources

The only textbook I intend to sell back
The lack of organization and lack of a glossary result in a poor textbook. Do not use this as your main source of info when trying to learn about depositional systems- much more understandable books exist.

Too much information
This is a book packed full of information. Each chapter could be a single book, and that would help, expanding more on the ideas contained within.
