It's apparent from reading this title that the author really knows her stuff. She's spent 30 years island hopping the Caribbean and it shows in her grasp of local cultures and her ability to sniff out the authentic in every town. In a crowded field of Caribbean guidebooks, this title truly excels.

This book is a great reference for people who live in Orlando and are always looking for something new to do on the weekends. Sure, many of us have annual passes to the theme parks but sometimes you want a change of scenery. Orlandoans are very luck to have so many great places to choose from, all within a 1-2 hour drive and this book organizes everything for you. I have been looking for a book like this ever since I moved here 2.5 years ago and now I have found it. I just wished it included more web sites in the directory (and maybe included the web sites right within the main chapters). Also for some chapters, there are more "where to stay" listings than there are "where to go" or "where to eat" listings. I thought it a little odd to include so many accommodations when the title of the book is called "Day Trips" from Orlando.

I just finished "Living Abourd your RV" by Janet & Gordon Groene. Most excellent material, taking you from the first urges of fulltiming to the 'End of the Road'. As a Canadian, I didn't get the Canadian perspective of many of the topics, but of course for that I would have to read a book written by Canadian authors. The universal areas covered were done so in the most professonal manner and down to Earth. Many good and timely suggestions from choosing your Home on Wheels, managing money, mini-hobbies, housecleaning, security and of course repairs and maintence. A terrificly good read ! I bought several books on full-timing in an RV - and this was the least helpful. While they touch on many topics, none are explored in depth - I learned nothing new from this book. In fact, I felt they kept telling me things that are simply commom sense. For example, in their section about waste water, they don't tell you how to deal w/ frozen waste lines - but they do advise you not flush disposable diapers!

This book was a disappointment - and will be returned.

As a family contemplating full-time RVing, this was a great first RVing book. It covers everything from what to do with your possessions, equipping your RV, traveling with pets, mini-hobbies, maintaining your RV and so much more! It was an easy read packed full of great advice. You will need a highlighter to keep track of important information. This book will definately go with us on our journey.

This cookbook had some limited use for me. It was a short introduction on tips for RV cooking. Overall some good general tips, but nothing that probably isn't in a good trade magazine. As an experienced camping and backpacking cook I was hoping for information on RV cooking now that I have a refrigerator. It does give some good recipes that utilize the better facilities of an RV. However about half the recipes assume you have an oven as well. My small Class B RV doesn't have an oven. Therefore, half the book is useless for me. Overall a slightly disappointing book that I wish I had looked over before purchasing.

A well organized book, but lacking a lot of information beyond very basic information. If you have never boated or camped, this might be the book for you. Needs to be updated with new information.

This books is entitled "great eastern rv trips". however, the book does not contain much rv specific information. I think a general tourist book would cover the material that they cover better.

In the introduction, the authors advise that it is necessary to use a map to find the "natural wonders". The authors even tell the reader how to obtain a map. Question: Why isn't there a map in the book? Just a simple map of Ohio with dots numbered to match the places mentioned.

We made the mistake of taking this book to Puerto Rico with us. It seems as if the author copied the information from various hotel brochures she was given, because its sadly obvious she never even visited most of the places she mentions.The information on the paradors (country inns) was totally inaccurate - we wasted hours of driving to places which were not as described. In other hotels and/or paradors, she never mentioned the most interesting features. Her descriptions were vague, misleading, or totally wrong. Her only helpful comments were on the most expensive resorts ($300 - $500 per day). Her only real review was on the Wyndham El Conquistador where it seems she had a cold breakfast. Again DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK. It is a total waste of time and money.
