A wonderful book.
I enjoyed this book a lot. It's very well written, and while reading it, I wished it'd go on forever. Frye was a remarkable actor, and deserved a better fate. So sad his life and career was cut short. (Shouldn't someone film this story ?.) I highly recommend the book, not just to Horror fans.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST BIOGRAPHY
I have been a HUGE fan of Univrsal Horror since I was a small child. I am more a fan of Dwight Frye. He has for a long time been considered the more neglected actor of Universal Horror, after I have read all the books that contain facts about him, seen all the card sets of him,and seen all the the movies, I think he has earned his way into being considered one of the big name actors. This great biography tells all about this great man and his now famous carear.

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!
I TELL YA, IVE BEEN TO HOLLYWOOD MANY A TIME AND STOOD IN THE SPOT WHERE HE DIED AND HONESTLY, IT GIVES YOU A WEIRD FEELING. MAYBE THATS BECAUSE HE HAD SUCH AN IMPACT ON PERFECT STRANGERS LIKE ME. I AM SO GLAD THIS BOOK CAME OUT SO I COULD LEARN MORE ABOUT ULTRA-COOL DWIGHT!

An Excellent Introduction.
The cover alone is worth the price! Each stone in this photograph of 46 specimens of turquoise is identified at the start of the book. High quality natural stones from the most important mines of the Southwest are pictured side by side with treated and plastic versions.

The book is a collection of 10 articles written for New Mexico Magazine. Titles include "Turquoise and the Native American", "Buyer Beware: Hidden Facets of Turquoise", Young Native Jewelers Signal Change of Guard" and "The Plight of Old Pawn". High quality photographs of famous mines, artisans and jewelry, both historic and current, will whet the appetite of would-be collectors but also leave an impression of love and respect for the land and its native inhabitants.

Read this book under a strong light to catch the full depth of color!

My mom's book is still relevant today
My mom wrote this autobiographical account when she was just a sophomore at Kalamazoo College in Michigan. It chronicles her life changing senior year at Marshall High School on the west side of Chicago in the racially charged 1960s. After her father decided to join the Ecumenical Institute and be transferred from affluent New Trier High School in Winnekta, on Chicago's North Shore, my already open-minded mother was exposed more directly to issues surrounding race and culture when she became Marshall's only white student. One result of this turbulent period in American history and this single year of her life was "Hey, White Girl!," an insightful book that will enlighten those of any age and race to the difficulties and amazing rewards of being young and learning from people different from yourself.

Laboratory DNA Science : An Introduction to Recombinant DNA
Excellent introductory book for people who are interested in molecular biology. It is loaded with very detailed and easy to follow description of current molecular technicques. The book also contains a great deal of information on current theories in molecular biology, which are written even for the layman. I would also recommend this book for high school students who are interested in this field.

Good book for medically-based chiropractors.
Written by DC's and PhD's at National College of Chiropractic. Red ruled sections give relevant clinical information, which is nice, and chapter 11 (pain of spinal origin)is very helpful, but it can sometimes read like stereo instructions.

Very good textbook for chiropractic and osteopathic students
This book is very complete and gives full descriptions of the anatomy of the spine. I would recommend this book for any chiropractic students taking a class in spinal anatomy, for any osteopathic student taking gross anatomy and any physical therapy students taking anatomy classes. However, I would also recommend the following which is also sold on amazon.com:
Spinal Anatomy Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers by Patrick Leonardi (ISBN: 0971999600)
This study guide will definitely give you an edge on tests and prepare first year chiropractic students to know the type of questions to be ready for. If you want to pass spinal anatomy without stress and get good grades, both books are a must buy. My study group and I used both books and we all passed spinal anatomy class with at least a B in our chiropractic school.

This is a great book.
Basic and Clinical Anatomy of the Spine, Spinal Cord and ANS will collect no dust on your shelf. Whether you are faculty, a new student, or a practicing physician, this text is an excellent source of accurate, up-to-date information that is presented in an easy to use, quick reference, format. The exquisite detail of the numerous tables is all-inclusive and very helpful (i.e. chapter four [muscles that influence the spine] contains a 7 page layout of the name, location, origin, insertion, action, and innervation of every muscle that affects the spine). The text also contains excellent photographs and artistic renderings of all the anatomy discussed within. If you can only afford a couple texts, make this one of your purchases.

Fast Service / Low price
Paid low price for quality book and fast delivery!

Easy to read- great to use
This is a really good book. I used it for a college class on public speaking, and I would have been lost without it. It covers things that you always forget to include, and great hints on how to increase your confidence and persuade an audience. For someone like me who was terrified, but no longer is of public speaking, and for those who just need a refrsher course, this book is brilliant.

Putting the Manual To Work
As a nurse working in a surgical environment who is concerned about providing holistic patient care I truly appreciated the scope of this text. This text serves two major functions in my opinion. First, it provides nurses without advanced psychiatric/mental health training many useful interventions for mentally ill patients in med/surg settings. These interventions also provide the practicing nurse with a review of the major problems associated with the disease and alert the nurse to relevant concerns patients may have. Secondly, this text provides a framework for medical/surgical nurses to incorporate mental status into daily nursing assessments which usually give scant attention to emotional health. As hospital stays continue to shorten (although with less rapidity than forecasters predicted) and previously hospital-based procedures are converted to outpatient visits, the push is on for shorter overall in-patient stays. A large body of scientific evidence supports the role of emotional health in promoting physical health and overall recovery from invasive procedures. It has become necessary for med/surg nurses to examine the emotional status of patients and intervene to promote faster recovery and successful outcomes. This book is a valuable tool to assist the professional nurse in this endeavor. Unfortunately, the book fails to address many psychosocial implications of medical disorders and surgical procedures. An expansion of this subject might include discussions about the psychosocial effects of specific procedures (angiograms, CABG procedures, hip and other joint replacements). Overall this is a useful reference manual that I recommend for med/surg nurses at all levels.

Once upon a Kiss (Thorndike Large Print Romance Series)
Published in Hardcover by G K Hall & Co (2003)
Authors: Nora Roberts, Jill Gregory, Ruth Ryan Langan, Marianne Willman, and Susan Wittig Albert
Amazon base price: $30.95
Average review score:

Is it over yet?
These stories were uninteresting, with unrealistic plots and underdeveloped characters. I have read some of the other books in this Once upon series and they have been mediocre, but these stories were all a complete bore. Save your money.

Disappointed
I really enjoy the Once Upon collection. . . However was really disappointed with this books. The stories lack substance and characters. In addition, I was expecting more romance in the sense that the kiss in each story would almost be soul shattering for each of the couples. In several ways the authors could have focus more on the reasons as to why the kiss is so important or how it seems to have affected each of the characters. Instead I got the idea that the authors wanted to rush to the ending.

Fun anthology
"A World Apart" by Nora Roberts. Kadra the Demon Slayer has vowed to destroy the devils that threaten her world. When the demon warriors and their king flee through a portal to a strange orb, Kadra follows. However New York City in the twenty-first century is eerily bizarre so Kadra coaxes private investigator Harper Doyle to help her battle her demons even while love blossoms between them. Nora Roberts provides a strong fantasy romance.

"Impossible" by Jill Gregory. Her family has always sheltered Princess Erinn of Marlbury from the ravages of the hundred-year war. Still their enemy Tynon of Bordmoor kidnaps her. Tynon believes that Erinn is a witch, who has enchanted his land and soon afterward his heart. Jill Gregory paints a wonderful fantasy romance.

"Sealed with a Kiss" by Ruth Ryan Langan. Her father promised powerful Highland chieftain Duncan MacLean his daughter Arianna Douglas in marriage in exchange for protection against invaders. When Duncan's warriors come to escort Arianna, his nephew Lachlan steals her heart. This is an entertaining tale that although the key characters are never developed.

"Kiss Me, Kate" by Marianne Willman. Kate Singleton inherits a manor with a resident enchanted prince. However, her heart belongs to her new neighbor, Michael Bellamy. With a wee bit of help, Kate might save the prince and gain heart's desire too. This is a fun fairy tale that the audience will enjoy yet feel the American, the Englishman, and the frog needed further development perhaps in a novella.

The fifth "Once Upon a ..." is a delightful fantasy romance anthology.
