I know it's weird to compare a self-help book to the greatest horror movie of all time -- allow me to explain myself. Horror movies in general totally suck. Of the few that don't, none quite acheive genuine scariness, with one exception: The Exorcist, which is just stupifyingly, appallingly, mind-numbingly scary. Therefore it is, to me, the only real horror movie.

This book is like that. It stands out among self-help books for 2 reasons: one, it doesn't utterly stink to high heaven (in fact, it doesn't stink at all -- the writing is inoffensive throughout), and two, it's actually helpful; that is, it, like The Exorcist, succeeds at being what it's supposed to be. Which is incidentally what it teaches you to do, too.
