Hilarious and REAL !!!!!!!
This book contains actual warning labels from a variety of products

Nowadays with the number of lawsuits by inept consumers injured by certain products, manufacturers are forced to put "idiot-proof" warning labels on their products.

Contains information about the famous McDonald's coffee incident and subsequent lawsuit.

Hilarious!
This book is essentially a collection of some of the silliest and most outrageous product warning labels. What's more, these labels actually exist and are on everyday products we use frequently. The witty commentary written about each label makes this book more hilarious. A great book to read when you are in need of a good laugh! Get yours today!

For when you're having a bad day
You can't help but laugh out loud at this book. These real warnings were printed to help companies avoid lawsuits from people who think they're supposed to drink facial cleanser. How could people be so stupid?! Well, sometimes they are, and even stupider warnings try to prevent idiotic behavior. The commentary and pictures with the warnings make this book even more hilarious.

The stickers are cheesy and stupid, but that doesn't detract from the book. It's funny read from cover to cover. But, if you need a quick pick-me-up, just flip to a random page for a laugh.

The Blue & Green Ark
Our Earth is the Blue and Green Ark adrift in the dark. This alphabet book is poetic, rich in imagry and ideas for conservation, respect for life and the environment. The lyric language, imaginative illustrations and striking juxtaposition of content worthy of further reflection will intrigue most readers and touch many more with a reverence for nature.

English 4-11 Award Winner
Winner of the English Association's English 4-11 Award for the Best Children's Picture Book of 1999 - Non-Fiction Key Stage 2. We considered the scope and imaginative power of this work to be quite exceptional. Brian Patten takes each letter of the alphabet, presented by Sian Bailey as a work of art, in the fashion of the key letter of a medieval manuscript, and explores fascinating aspects of our planet from the origins of the earth to the development of the child in the womb. In free verse and with the help of 11 gifted artists he evokes images of the creatures in the oceans, on land and in the sky, of features of the earth like rain forests and volcanoes, of the planets and the stars in the heavens and of the technological achievements of human beings. This exploration in poetic language of such wide ranging phenomena make the book a wonderful celebration of our world for the new millennium. It also reinforces the notion that non-fiction can make a strong appeal to the imagination and can be the beginning of the reader's further investigation of concepts and topics. Further help here comes in the form of an exceptionally fine glossary with a scholarly flavour. Readers of different ages will be inspired by this highly original and informative book and will return to it again and again.

Woohoo! The rerelease of Under The Green Star!!!!
I cannot BELIEVE this is being re-released!! I've been searching for a copy of this book for every bit of fifteen years. This is the book responsible for awakening me to a lifelong appreciation of science fiction. It's on a par with the likes of the Barsoom books...Dune...the works of Isaac Asimov and Ray Bradbury. Many new science fiction writers flood the market these days, but virtually none of them can touch the sheer READABILITY and utter creativity of the Green Star story. It's a must-read. How exciting to see it's going to be available to readers again. I will be in LINE to buy this book. If you haven't read it...GO, GO, GO!! It's a wild, wonderful, fascinating read! Thank you so much, Mr. Carter, for giving such a wonderful world to me as a child....you opened the door of imagination in my mind and I've never allowed it to close since. Again, thank you!

Good but no surprises
When I read Green's book, I was startled to realized that I could predict what was going to happen next. It was one of those bad guy/good guy books that have not a whole lot new to offer. Except the ending. I wouldn't have guessed it in a million years. It's worth reading just for that.

It's Tony Soprano on the five yard line!
TITANS centers around New York Titans All-Star quarterback Hunter Logan on the event that elevated him to hero-worship: winning the Super Bowl. What his teammates and wife don't realize is that Hunter also has a slight problem. To make sure that he remains in the cash and to satisfy a urge to play chance, he makes side bets on basketball games with the help of a bookie meadiated by his friend and former teammate, Metz. Chance plays a heavier hand in Hunter's life when buddy Metz takes his latest cash bet from Hunter and places every dime on the Titans to win their latest game. The amount betted alerts Tony Rizzo, ganster and begging to be leader of his uncle's mafia family, to tail Metz and discover Hunter's involvement, then blackmail him into a points shaving racket that will involve Tony going to the owner of the Titans and exposing him to the NFL if he doesn't comply. Need more incentive, then how about killing Hunter's wife, then his daughter? What neither realizes is that Ellis Cook, FBI agent and leader of a mob task force, is trailing Tony and looking for evidence to send him to prison and close down the connecting families operating in New York. What Cook doesn't realize is that within the walls of the FBI, a traitor is spilling the developments of the impending case against Tony to his uncle, Vincent Mondolffi, one of the ruling families. The mole is easy to figure out, but the development of the story is not, and just when it looks like there is no way out, another door opens and the suspense kicks in on another level. Lengthy, yet worthy of more football-suspense stories. Good work, Mr. Green!

Grisham + Gridiron
Titans rates as my favorite fiction book of all time! As an avid reader of fiction and lover of professional football, Tim Green brings the best of both worlds. And for those who could only dream of playing in the NFL, Green gives a "back stage pass" into the locker room we always desired to be a part of (although after reading all of Green's books, I now question that desire). Titans is a nonstop page-turner filled with excitement at every turn. If you love football, you'll love Titans! (If you ever read this Mr. Green, keep it up! There are some die hard fans of yours out here. By the way, how about a book on a team made up of illegal man-made Terminator-like robots; a story of teams dominated and controlled by unscrupulous and player mind-controlling shoe manufacturers; or a maverick owner who will stop at nothing short of murder to win?) CAN'T WAIT TO GET MY HANDS ON THE UPCOMING "RED ZONE!"

Not necessarily a boy's book
I am a fifth grade teacher and am always on the lookout for new books to challenge students. I picked up this novel and looked at the jacket. It seemed innocent enough for a fifth grader. Upon reading it I felt that the subject matter was far to advanced for my classroom. I believe that the seventh grade might be a better spot for this novel.

The book itself was very engaging. The author uses baseball as a venue for healing. I think that Mr. Johnson has quite a future ahead of him.

An elegant and haunting depiction of adolescence!
This is an elegant and haunting depiction of adolescence. I came across this book while browsing... and was stuck by its cover. I expected a lighthearted book about little league baseball. I discovered something much greater. This story and these characters have strayed with me for weeks. I look forward to reading more of Mr. Johnston's work.

Realistic, involving fiction
Tex gets something quite different for the summer when instead of spending the time with his father and his new girlfriend, he lands in the lap of his mother and her new family. Tex's friendship with his new stepfather is uncertain, until a common connection in baseball introduces him to a new world and brings new family ties. Just as all seems to be coming together, Tex makes a discovery which will again change his family's life. Realistic, involving fiction.

Exploitation Trash.
Avoid this garbage at all costs. I have seen better writing on bathrooms walls.

outlaws
I really enjoyed reading "Outlaws". It was very exciting and entertaining. A very Easy read. With excellent charecters. And twist and turns on every page. I believe this is a book anyone would enjoy reading.

I enjoyed the mix of football and mystery in this book.
I am fifteen and I have read all of Green's books more than once. I play football and I like how vividly he describes the football scenes in the book. I know I am only fifteen and some adults will think that I am just a kid and I don't know what I am talking about but, I have also read other literary works (Of Mice and Men) (Catcher in the Rye).

Not as good as later works (The Letter of the Law & Outlaws)
After reading the above two books and hearing how great Ruffians was, I tried it. I really enjoyed reading it initially; however as the story progressed, the ending was very predictable and the repetitveness of booze and screwing around became boring. Also, this book is very similar to the movie North Dallas Forty (even though I don't know which came first). Read Outlaws and Letter of the Law which in my opinion are better Tim Green stories.

The Ruffians book Review
The Ruffians This book is by Tim Green. This is a very realistic book about the NFL. It shows what happens in the NFL and pressures in the NFL. It has a character in it called clay. He is drafted into the NFL.on a expansion team. The coach is being paid to make a championship team in 1 year. He has made a program that will help them succeed. It involves Steroids. Will he except the plan or reject it.

Great inside look at the NFL
Tim Green's got it all. He played for 8 years in the NFL and he has a law degree. I found his characters believable and the flow of the action is good. That book gave me the creeps at some times. I never thought it could be like that in the NFL, but Tim Green made it believable and now I'm trying to guess which real team could try to pull the same trick the Ruffians tried...

6-8 Pages per Chapter to Explain what's PHP would be GREAT!
I tend to agree with the review given by "Rover". Considering the fact that you're using a WYSIWYG editor (even though it's the best) to develop server-side scripting of database backed web sites, should indicate that you can't know everything about PHP scripting or MySQL. (just a general concencus that I've gathered from talking to other web designers). Therefore, my headline comment of 6-8 pages more per chapter to explain the intracacies of what's going on when you "click this or ,select that or type in this" would have pushed this book to the highest level. All in all, it's a great walk through of the potential that Dreamweaver MX has built into it's base pertaining to open-source scripting and SQL implementation (i.e. PHP & MySQL). Bottom line - I thorougly enjoyed it, learned a great deal of what Dreamweaver MX can really do but would have liked a little more "fyi pertainging to what's going on behind the "WYSIWYG scene" for a total learning experience. I have to say BUY IT FOR SURE! Then pursue answers to PHP-MySQL basics from another source. This book is definitely worth the investment.

Great Resource for Dreamweaver Users
I have been using Dreamweaver for over 3 years and more recently Dreamweaver MX. I consider myself an expert in Dreamweaver, but I have never used its dynamic features. This book was a great resource for me. After reading through it, and its examples, I was creating PHP MySQL dynamic pages in two days. I never knew how easy Dreamweaver MX makes PHP MySQL development until this book explained it to me. This has unleashed a whole new aspect of Dreamweaver MX for me. I can't wait to start using it on my web sites.

PERFECT for learning DW MX to create PHP/MySQL sites
This is literally the book you are looking for if you have a basic handle on how the three pieces of this puzzle look & feel but want to see the completed puzzle itself. The authors take you through the conception, design, & creation of a PHP/MySQL web application using Dreamweaver MX. They cover installation of MySQL & PHP on IIS boxes & Apache - watch that you're using the right version of PHP & the PHP MySQL admin tool they recommend! - and take you by the hand through the whole project. Great stuff and they could easily write another book covering this subject.

Good Read, Engrossing Inside Look At The NFL
In his book, The Dark Side of The Game, Tim Green disproves the stereotype that all NFL jocks are as dumb as a stump. Green's book is engrossing, I just could not put it down. Each chapter is short (2 to 3 pages), covering a different topic in the life of an NFL player, including topics such as training camp, sleeping during team meetings, playing with pain, drug usage, and an insight to players from the perspective of a player.

Green, player turned broadcaster, has seen the game from both sides of the field, and understands (and explains) why players hate the media and vise versa.

This is not your typical "My Story" as told by a former player to a writer. Rather, this is an excellent book giving a rare and fair look at the inside of the NFL. Any fan of the game of football should love this book.

Surprising and eye-opening, a fine overview
I had hoped that Tim Green would've addressed some of the really dark topics of the game such as organized crime influence, throwing games, etc. But the subjects he hits on were very informative and give some good insight as to what it's like to play football in the NFL. He paints a good picture of all the ups and downs of playing and gives fair warnings to all young players fortunate to rise to the pro level. Alot of his opinions are colorful and relevant and the book is very readable with many short chapters each packed with unique information. This is a must read for anyone who loves the game.

The Dark Side of the Game
The book "the Dark Side of the Game" was about the reality of the NFL and what athletes you see on TV have to go through every year, season, and day. It's a good book to read if you're a regular Fottball viewer, or just love the game. It goes into detail about trainning camp, physicals, and intervews. "Explains life in the NFL with out exageration" says Deion Sanders. It goes into great detail and brings you one step closer to the game, explaining strugglea with drugs, injuries, and women. There is even a chapter on how to shake a Football player's hand, saying that the way is not to show them your pwoer in grip, but to give a nice hand shake, for the hands of the NFL athletes are swollen and bruised all season. A new respect for the NFL athletes will be gained after reading this book, for the stories and conditions explained in the book are like none other. "If my boys were to not want to touch a football, i would be perfectly happy." says Green, knowing the game and the things that the players put up with, this quote is one to think about. Is the NFL really everybodys dream? Or just another dream that they'll be happy not pursuing?
