Coloring Ancient Greece
Great Resource
I use the Dover coloring books often as I home school. The kids are busy, quiet AND they listen. It really helps to reinforce the lessons when they color the same things that they are learning about. There is a Dover book for most major subjects!

It was blackmail, pure and simple
Perry Mason was retained to protect the interests of the Bain family, who were being blackmailed with an audio confession of a crime they didn't commit. Mason manages to erase the recording right out from under their nose, but then finds himself defending Hattie Bain on a murder charge.
Mason's courtroom dramatics hit a high note when he produces a theory which changes the time of death, and puts an witness with an seemingly unshakeable alibi on the hot seat. Then the theory is collaborated with evidence overlooked by the police, and all hell is raised with the prosecutions theory of the case.

Necessary to grasp the Constitution
Every American lawyer ought to read Blackstone.
Not that the law he contains is still reliable, although much of it is. But for the big picture, the history of the development of the English common law, he remains an indispensible source.
The American founding fathers grew up with this stuff, and these four volumes were indispensible for a Colonial gentleman's education. In viewing them, you will gain a new understanding of the meaning of the Constitution of the United States. As Blackstone develops the law, he sets it against the backdrop of the British struggle against arbitrary rule by the King, the seventeenth century wars of religious fanaticism, and England's long battle to win free from the power of the papacy. To read Blackstone is to learn what the founding fathers thought and feared, and what they wrote the Constitution to guard against.

THE Essential Resource on Musical Theatre History
This book is a must-have for people who work in, study, or love the musical theatre. When did a particular musical open? Who wrote it, and what else did he/she work on? What was the chronology of a performer or director's stage career? Were there revivals, London productions, tours? Who starred in a given production? While there are many books that can help find such information, no other book does it as efficiently. As a Broadway producer's assistant and as a life-long theatre buff, I have found this one-volume Encyclopedia a vital source of information. While all of Stanley Green's books are informative and entertaining, this is the one I turn to when I need the facts or figures fast. If musical theatre trivia is your bag, this is one of the motherlodes --I recommend it highly!

History Of The Pack
If you are a young Packer fan or are the parent of a young Packer fan, I would sincerely recommend this book. As the author and a Packer fan myself, I think the mixture of great photography and easy to enjoy text will appeal to backers of the Pack in particular, and football fans in general.

An indepth look at how the Red Wings won the Cup!
After following the 1997 Playoffs very carefully I find this book to be one of my most prized pocessions. Not only did it have all the stats of the playoffs, more importantly it expressed the emotions of the players, the fans and the entire city of Detroit. It also had wonderful action photos from each stage of the playoffs, all in colour. This is a job well done by the entire Detroit News Sports Staff. This hardcover version will be a treasure to any hockey fan, and is a must have for any Die Hard Red Wing Fan.

Excellent comprehensive Retina Vitreous text
This two volume set covers medical and surgical retina. It has many fine color photographs and is written on a high level. It seems to fill some of the gaps left by the Ryan Retina series. Drug coverage seems up to date, and treatment recommendations are current

A Joyous Look At A Long-Lost Era
RING BELLS! SING SONGS! is one of the ten best of the hundreds of books I've ever read on musical theatre. Only a few of the 1930's Broadway musicals are performed today, but it was a time when Broadway gradually moved from the giddy reviews and often silly book shows of the 20's toward the more mature form that would blossom in the 40's. In RING BELLS we see the growth take place show by show, season by season. What a panorama we get: The last gasps of old-style operetta by composers like Friml & Romberg, Ziegfeld's final efforts, dizzy musical comedies with glorious scores by Berlin and Porter, the dazzling debuts of Ethel Merman and Mary Martin, the Gershwin's moving from the lighthearted GIRL CRAZY to their landmark PORGY & BESS, and daring musical experiments by Weill, Brecht, and even Gertrude Stein. This underestimated decade in musical theatre comes to life here, in a refreshingly readable text that blends facts and anecdotes with tons of rare photos. It's one of the prolific Stanley Green's most enjoyable books. I recommend it to anyone who loves reading about the musical theatre.

This is good for any grade schooler or even a high schooler who still likes to color. The covers and inside covers have art which are the colored scenes of ones found in the book, so there is also some direction or incentive to make the art come to life.
Useful alone or with a curriculum.
