Quick Trudeau reference
Trudeauites search no more! In this small book, you'll find all of Trudeaus quotes and thoughts, culled from thousands of pages of materials. They are grouped by relevant section (Quebec sovereignty, etc) and the quotes used make great conversation starters. Love Trudeau or hate him, this book gives both sides plenty of ammo.

Excellent
"The Essential Trudeau" is a well crafted novel that manages to amalgamate all of Trudeau's views on politics into one pocketbook sized novel. What made it very interesting was its ability to seize the reader with it simplicity. Unlike most other political books, this one manages to use language that can be understood by the youngest of Trudeauites. Pierre Trudeau himself contributes to the novel by adding new information on his views and justification for past political decisions while he was in office. This is a very brave book that looks at the views of a man considered to be Canada's most influential Prime Minister. An entire range of topics are covered in this book, including "The state of Quebec nationalism" and "The Role of the state". I highly recomend this novel, as it presents the views of a man who will go down in history as a true liberal.

The Salesman of the Century: Inventing, Marketing, and Selling on TV: How I Did It and How You Can Too!

Great autobiography *and* how-to guide
If the rather egotistical title of this book doesn't put you off, you'll find a fascinating story that's really two books in one. Ron Popeil's infomercials are the stuff of pop culture legend; if you never got a chance to see them during the '60s, '70s or '80s, you surely have seen their parodies. But what's the deal behind Popeil and his "as seen on TV" success?

The first part of this book is Popeil's inspiring autobiography. Surviving a childhood filled with abuse and neglect, he discovered his gift as a salesman as a young man and went on to make a fortune. At the dawn of the television age, he saw TV's potential as an unparalleled marketing tool and grew his marketing empire even further. Ron Popeil's great contribution to retail, therefore, wasn't the myriad of gadgets he sold, but his style of selling on TV -- namely the infomercial.

The second part of the book is essentially a how-to guide for starting a business similar to Popeil's. Even if you have no intention of starting a retail business, the details of how such a business works are fascinating. Topics as arcane as patent protection, TV time buying, negotiating with retail stores for shelf space and financing (which forced Popeil into bankruptcy at one point) are all covered.

Great insight!
Ron's book gives one a good overall insight into what it takes to get a product to market. His insights into selling to retail chains..., Infomercials, and getting a product on QVC are invaluable.

It's a great read with many pictures and short stories about his past hit products like The Pocketfisherman, Mr. Microphone, and GLH9 etc.

It also includes a great overview of his early life going through the school of hard knocks.

Only one of many such books that could be written
What is incredible about this book is not that there are over one hundred pages of unsolved problems posed all or in part by Paul Erdos. The amazing thing is that the word graphs could be replaced by several other mathematical words or phrases and a similar book could be written. Erdos was an expert in so many areas of mathematics and perhaps his greatest ability was in putting forward just the right questions to just the right people. There is very little explanation of the problem proposals, the authors rely on a great deal of the listing of references to fill in the details. Therefore, anyone interested in exploring the problems in greater detail should be prepared to spend some time and effort in tracking down the relevant articles. Fortunately, the authors themselves did a great deal of that, as there are complete references for every problem that appears.
The range of problems is a demonstration of the depth of his understanding of graph theory, and also a demonstration of how little is still unresolved. I put forward no pretense to understanding any more than a few of the problems in this book. However, that did not alter my interest in the problems, as I was able to understand the fundamentals of almost all of them. Reading this book is one of the most educational experiences that I have had in the past year and I encourage all mathematicians at the level of slightest interest in graph theory and above to read it.

Yeah! You Go Canuck Boy!
In the words of Oprah Winfrey, "When a man doesn't address the question of his own mortality, maybe he's not a man". I think that really sums up the theme of this book. Man or not man? Politician or muse? These are some of the issues that Ron Gramm deals with, amongst [sic] others ...

As Kissinger once wrote, "All war is an expression of love". So this work is part of a larger issue related to the planet, over-population, et al. This is truly a piece that speaks to all mankind.
