Practical resource
This learning resource is an excellent addition to any developers' library of materials. It has clear, practical advice on how to develop effective coaches as well as a collection of fine exercises. The exercises are mostly based around real life practice. Too often these kinds of collections are full of exercises that look fun to do but are disconnected from work. This pack does not fall in to that trap. The exercises are graded - from easy to use to those that are more advanced. However the authors give very clear guidance on how to use them and show some examples of how the exercises could be put together to create workshops on different aspects of coaching.

I would recommend this pack unreservedly. It meets a real need - organizations desperately need to develop the coaching capability of their managers and this material will really fill a gap in the market.

Very Valuable Material
I have found this material very valuable for developing managers as coaches. The big plus for me is that the exercises are mostly based around real work. I find that managers do not like artificial exercises that seem too disconnected from real work. Also the provision of the material for use in workshops is first rate. Finally I liked the fact that the authors have given guidance on how to put the materials together to produce a coherent workshop.

Excellent resource
This is an excellent resource for trainers. It has many original exercises as well as clear guidance on what to do with the matierla. Also the introductory material gives a clear jargon-free explanation of the value of coaching. It is the best on the market, as far as I can see.

OPEN is the answer to many of the industry's problems.
OPEN is the answer to many of the industry's problems. Sure it isn't panacea, but it is the next best thing we currently have.

Comprehensive discussion of entire object oriented process
This is a book that provides a comprehensive discussion of the entire object oriented process. It really provides first rate support in terms of the design of a software engineering process. Well done.

A very useful, much needed book
This book provides what has been missing in Object Technology: a process. The book is not yet another methodology but is a properly put together full lifecycle process that can be tailored for small, medium, large to super large projects of all types. It provides the much needed Software Engineering process framework lacking in all other OO methods.

The only Business Design Tool for OT anywhere
I acquired the book through a random read of available titles at Amazon.com and have been very glad of it. The case tool accompanying the book, while not capable of providing reports, provides an excellent structure for acquiring the business structure information in an Object Oriented approach. I've not found any other tool to match it. Even Rational Rose reccomends MS Word to capture this information, which is patently ridiculous.

The text is highly informative, providing an extensive background for the growth to Object Technology from the procedural methods and relational databases of the past. He provides a variety of benefits to help sell management on the need to migrate to Object development.

Full review of object technology and OOT life cycles
This work has become my bible of OOT because it covers the area so well. But there is much in the work, and requires several reads and study to appreciate its contents. Though the work was published in 1995 (I'm writing in 1998), I find it more valuable now than when originally published.

Excellent job by the author, highly recommended.
The author really knows how to transmit the subject matter to his audiance. I was really impressed by his approach. He begins by creating a big picture and then proceeds to show you how each element fits into the whole scheme of things. This is all done in simple straight-forward english. I strongly recommend the book to both beginners and inter-mediate web developers. This one is a keeper.

Terrific Book for Web Managers
This is a good book, albeit somewhat misnamed--it should be called "Web Development and Management." The first part of the book reviews XHTML, HTML, XML and CSS and their role in Web development--this is great information and is the first thing I've read that clearly outlines how all of this fits together. The second part provides a lot of information for managing web projects--everything from site and application design approaches to understanding how to deal with technical issues like making pages load quickly and designing for various browsers. There is a lot of valuable information here. The last part reviews CGI processing on servers and outlines many of the tools available for developing web applications, for content and site management (link checkers, performance monitors etc.)--all really useful, although some of the content will be somewhat out of date. Fortunately, the book web site seems to have been updated and contains other information including an extremely useful online reference page.

Lives up to its name
I picked this book out from the huge selection of children's books at the National Air & Space Museum. It has some informative text and lots of attractive pictures. One especially nice thing is that it doesn't just show what spaceships look like but how they work. For example, it shows (better than some other books I've seen) the steps in a shuttle launch or a trip to the moon (it helped me explain to the kids where the lunar module is in the Saturn V, and how the astronauts got into it), and even an astronaut putting on her space suit. For the 4-7 crowd, it's great.

accessible dictionary of terms and famous statisticians
Two English statisticians have compiled this list of terms, abbreviations, famous probabilists and statisticians that is accessible to experts, beginners and practitioners in all fields that use statistical methods and probability. It is very current and competitive with other dictionaries on this topic including the one that Cambidge University Press puts out. A nice feature of the handy paperback book is its low price. Published in 2002 it is the most current dictionary of its type and includes terms from computational statistics and operations research. So you will find terms like simplex methods and figures from operations research like George Dantzig in addition to famous statisticians such as R. A. Fisher and probabilists like Markov and Kolmogorov. It also contains many names of statistical societies, software packages and professional journals and their acronyms.

God Is Never Late...but Never Early Either: Reassurance for Humanity from Another Dimension

Authors: Ian Graham and White Bull
Amazon base price: $19.95
Used price: $16.00

A universal message of love.
It is amazing how quickly the presence of White Bull, as channeled by Ian Graham (born in England in 1954) becomes like an intimate friend whispering his words of wisdom into one's heart. The messages obviously come from a knowing source, the humor is exquisite, many of the formulations highly original and always reassuring. His observations on past lives, karma, meditation and the awakening of the Christ bodies are very clearly formulated and resonate with a deep sense of truth.
It is fascinating to read the Foreword (written by Princess Irene of The Netherlands) and the introduction in which Graham himself describes how he first met the entity White Bull seventeen years ago. His process of channeling and his dedication to the service of mankind (traveling every year around the globe to offer his sessions) are remarkably similar to what happened in the case of the famous American trance medium and prophet Edgar Cayce. Even the content of some of the readings in this compendium are sometimes in a similar vein, especially when they address acute global issues.
White Bull comes authentically across as a being with a tremendously tender heart wanting to share a universal message of love and trying to alleviate the pain of holding on to fear and attachment in these times of quick change.

Great book for kids (and adults)
This is a great little gift book for kids who are interested in aviation. The book goes through the basics of aviation and avionics. After reading the book, kids will have a basic understanding of flight and aerodynamics.

The photos are up to date and the cockpit display of the 747-400 with its new glass avionics is pretty impressive. The book includes a great poster of the 747 cockpit which is worth the price of the book alone.
