Get Your Kids Interested In Science!
This book contains 101 electrical and magnetic experiments and projects. The materials used can be found around the house or easily purchased at a local store. These experiments teach many of the basics of electricity and magnetics and can be very informative for kids, and even adults, and the illustrations and text explaining the science behind the experiments are well done. I think science is fascinating, and this book can help you spread the 'magic' of science to others.

Great simple projects to show kids the basics of E and M.
With paper clips, magnets, and assorted junk from around the house, you can demonstrate the basics of static electricity and magnetism for your kids (and your own) enlightenment. Well thought out, and peppered with historical notes, this book belongs in every household with children, and at least one older kid (e.g. parent) who likes to play with science. Thanks Mr. Graf.

Almost 800 pages of circuits!
The third compilation of circuits by Graf.

Almost 800 pages of electronic circuits compiled from various sources. Almost all have circuit descriptions. There are 126 different categories of circuits.

This is an interesting source to see various approaches to solving a particular need.

I rated this four stars since this; like the others in this series, is a compilation. Not all of the descriptions and diagrams are as clear as they could be. In that respect, each circuit is referenced, so any questions may be answered by looking up the original source.

Graet Exotica
Exotica is one of the most complete and usefull books for who loves and works with ornamental plants. It is made of hundreds of photographies of the tropical ornamental plants that makes the identification an easy and fun task. I only miss a complete list of the scientific names, in order to save time, and some local vernacular names. If you work in tropical botany or are interest on ornamental plants you must have it.

50% Useful; 50% Useless
Half of the book's pages are regarding the topic but the rest are descriptions of various ICs(Integrated Chips) that are used. These information are useless unless they are intended to describe specific ICs being used in a circuit project. These information are normally taken from Chip Manufacturer Circuit Manuals which are called "Databooks"

Having or not having these IC information in this book will have no difference.

This book will suit electronics engineers and physicists as this book is heavy on theory and measurements. It is not intended for electronic experimenters or enthusiasts who are more interested on the practical side of electronics and physics.

If you are the type who wants to put electronics into action or is the type who wanted to use eletronics knowledge to build a working circuit on Video Scrambling, etc. DON'T BUY THIS BOOK. This is not for you.

But if you are the type of person who loves the Theoretical side of Electronics being applied on Video Scrambling, then BUY THIS BOOK! I'm sure you'll love all the explanations backed by quantitative measurements this book covers on Video Scrambling and Descrambling.

For electronics experts only!
This book is geared towards electronics engineers. Unless you own at least an ocilloscope and a lot of other electronics equipment, this book will be useless to you.

Great book for analog scrambling.
Personally, I liked this book so much. It brings many information and classical circuits and patented for scrambling of video signals. The approach, however, is for systems NTSC. It also brings information on digital coding.

Go to the library
This book and all of the others in the series, are without a doubt not worth buying. I'm glad my local library carries them so that I didn't have to waste my money. There is virtually no help beyond the schematics so if you don't understand why a certain portion of the circuit is built in a specific way, you're out of luck.

FOrgive the Author he knows not what to do
After puchasing volumes 1-6 as a group and testing some of the circuits I spent many hours correcting the mistakes and errors in these circuits. I threw the books into the closet and designed from scratch my own circuits, it took far less time and they work when I'm done. I wish you could hold the authors accountable for lost time I could hire a design staff larger than Microsoft.

Perhaps I can help
This series contains thousands of schematics from a variety of sources. I'm quite sure that few, if any, were tested by the authors. However, based on the sources, most probably were tested by the originators. The explanations were sparse, and there were errors, some obvious. As such, these are probably not suitable for beginners. However, I find them to be very valuable, and I suspect that many experienced techs, engineers, hobbiests, and experimenters will as well. I often use part of one circuit as the seed of an idea for a circuit I am designing, with the end result bearing little resemblance to the original. These are filled with perhaps the most valuable of all resources - other people's ideas. I do wish the authors had been more careful to catch errors.

Amplifier Circuits

Amazon base price: $34.95
Used price: $16.00

Collection of amplifier circuits, but no theory or design.
This book is just a collection of amplifier circuits from magazine articles and manufacturer databooks. Each circuit is accompanied by a description, ranging from a sentence to a paragraph. There is no discussion of amplifier design or theory, although some of the circuit descriptions contain brief explanations of the topology. I was very disappointed, because I wanted to learn about amplifier design. If you are just looking for a circuit, this book might be of some value, especially since it lists the original sources for all of the circuits.
