Great training book for the orchid enthusiast
Bob Gordon is a respected name in orchid growing, with numerous articles on the subject written for the American Orchid Society 'Bulletin.' His passion is phalaenopsis orchids, and in 'Culture of the Phalaenopsis Orchid,' he begins with the basics of growing healthy plants - light, temperature, humidity, watering, fertilizers and air movement - and then he expands on information for those of us who already have plants and now want to know what it takes to grow award-quality bloomers. As an orchid lover, you'll find yourself returning to his book again and again.

Abrams Publishing House is the only great art publisher.
This book is a treasure; it is a rare sight to see an art book that faithfully reproduces works, some of which I have personally seen. Gary is a consummate watercolor artist, respectful of his medium and subjects; this is beautifully captured by the incredible color photography and the intelligent, inspired comments by Judith Gordon, This book is a treat for anyone who loves flowers and admires artistic talent...I wish I could find the words...

Psychosocial Treatment of Chronic Mental Patients: Milieu Vs Social-Learning Program
Published in Textbook Binding by Harvard Univ Pr (1978)

Treatment of choice for the chronically mentally ill
Paul and Lentz (1977) is a hallmark study in the history of psychology. Paul uses painstaking methodological rigor to establish the Social Learning Program as "treatment of choice" for the chronically mentally ill, in terms of behavioral, community and cost outcomes. This book is a model for scientific psychologists and a great learning tool for students. The experimental design in itself is worthy of a seminar in scientific methods. Moreover, Paul's discussion of implementation of effective mental health programs in "real world" systems is sobering while his insights are refreshing. A must read for all in the mental health field.

Insightful!
Can a textbook be delightfully written? This one is. Authors Richard L. Hughes, Robert C. Ginnett, and Gordon J. Curphy explore every aspect of leadership and smoothly weave research conclusions into the narrative. Examples abound, from Colin Powell to Walt Disney. The authors are all psychologists who specialize in leadership issues. They have written conversationally and intelligently, using plenty of sidebar material (even famous cartoons) to bring their reporting to life. We [...] recommend this classic (now in its third edition) to everyone interested.

Great Ink Job on the Illustrations
To be honest, the book wasn't all that great. Actually it scared me. Death and mayhem ruled throughout and the storyline jumped from place to place. The only bright spot was the inkjob done by none other than Robert Enright. It says that Enright was the illustrator, but I have seen some of his other works, and he wouldn't dare put those drawings into a piece. My thoughts are that Enright merely did the inking in of poorly done drawings and was "laid to blame" for the actual illustrations. Well done, Robert Enright! Great praise is given to you for your ink ability. However, I am sorry that your good name was placed on the cover of such a horrendous book.
