Short: this is trully a great book on mech vent for neo/peds and should be in evryones personal library who cares for respiratory patients: neonatologist,pediatricians,neo/ped respiratory therapists, neo/ped nurses and for anyone who needs a great reference on this subject.

A feast on neonatal ventilation
I do not think if any other book has covered neonatal ventilation the way this one has. It is an essential item for every doctor caring for the newborn. There is no need to look forward to any other publication on this subject. It has dealt with every aspect of neonatal ventilation so well that it has become a gold standard.

Little Gloria
Published in Hardcover by Knopf (1980)
Author: Barbara Goldsmith
Amazon base price: $15.95
Average review score:

Definitive!
In LITTLE GLORIA, Barbara Goldsmith has written the definitive biography of Gloria Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt has had a life that reads like a preposterous soap opera. Goldsmith details all of it, particularly the notorious custody trial in which Gloria's paternal aunt, Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, battled Gloria's notorious mother for custody. The fact that the focus of this well-publicized battle was just a single little girl too often is forgotten. This book is a thorough look into a fascinating footnote to history, and a glimpse at the lifestyle of America's richest family from the Gilded Age through the early years of the 20th Century. LITTLE GLORIA is required reading for students of American social history.

Great Read
Little Gloria is a detailed family biography - very, very interesting to read! The author did painstaking reseach.

The Straw Man

darkly hilarious art-world dish
Straw Man is a delicious look at New York's artworld in the days when the Met ("the Urban" in the book) was expanding into Central Park. The hero has more money than happiness; his adolescent fantasies revolve around the women in million-dollar paintings, and his grown-up pursuit of an enigmatic woman is a great read. (Especially apt is the scene in which he has to walk a long way uptown because he doesn't have anything smaller than a $100 bill for a cab.) If you're interested in the New York artworld, you MUST read this book.
