If only you had read this book ....
This book succeeds where others have failed in describing the origins of human suffering. It is not merely an exlanation of physical violence, but a well-written account detailing numerous forms of psychological problems, including addiction, alienation, loneliness, depression, despair, shame and abuse. It offers credible methods to understand today's most frightening concerns, such as school shootings and workplace violence. It also offers a way out. Exceedingly well-argued, Dr. Goldgerg's writing displays a convincing depth and breadth of knowledge. It is really quite masterful. Truly, this is one of those few books that one hopes becomes widely read , for the truths it contains.

One of the best written and most important psychology books
One of the best written and most important psychology books written in the past half-century.

An intriguing study
The reasons for violent behavior elude modern psychological theorists: psychoanalyst Goldberg's ideas laid out in The Evil We Do are based on four decades of clinical experience and present case studies of irredeemable and dangerous people to show how even the worst can be rehabilitated. An intriguing study.

Carl Goldberg is a Genius
Since I began getting interested in psychology, I have wandered around my library looking for books on psychopaths. I was diagnosed as a psychopath when I was thirteen, and think it is grossly misunderstood. After reading the first two chapters of this book, I realised, this is the hardest book for anyone like me to read, it was an awakening to the real world, and made me think very seriously about who I was for weeks. The man who wrote this is an absolute genius, I think probably the best psychoanalyst of his time, perhaps the best im history (considering Freud is a pervert). This book is incredible, but definitely not an easy read. I think that's a virtue though. First class!

A brilliant study of personality-disordered individuals.
Carl Goldberg's book on what turns people into disordered personalities with little or no compassion or empathy for others is a must for those working in the caring and legal professions. In the light of the Columbine High massacre, the nail bombings in London and the crisis in Kosovo, this book is essential reading for anyone at all concerned with the evil that men do and why they do it.

Good as a complement, bad for starting
If you already have studied clinical anatomy and still have some trouble remembering all those names, this book may help you. It has some intesting techniques to keep that vocabulary on memory.

However, if you are just starting studying anatomy or if the subject is new for you and you just want to read a little about it, better look for another book. I found in the internet very good sites and understood better many basic things such as blood circulation in those sites than reading this book. If it will be your first meeting with anatomy vocabulary, get another book.

Great for Starters
I started medical school in 1996 and this was actually the first book I ever bought. IF you are about to start medical school I think you should read this book in its entirety. It is a great platform before you spend those long nights in the anatomy lab.

Great General Knowledge of Anatomy
If you want a general idea of anatomy this book is great. It goes through the whole book giving easily understood samples and pictures. The only minor problem i have with this book is that it doesn't go to in depth on explaning things but then again that's why it's called ridiculously simple and not in depth and complex.

Psychopathy from a Psychotherapeutic View
Not a bad read, although not entirely coherent, Goldberg searches for meaning and answers concerning the socially deviant. Although very informative, honest, and idealistic, Goldberg fails to find methods of empirical value to support his ideas. On the other hand, from a psychotherapeutic point of view, I can see where he is coming from entirely. Goldberg has a great understanding, and achieves at conveying his knowledge of shame and what debilitating effects it can have on its victims. The book is basically a compilation of his own cases with a focus of Goldberg's individual analysis. Overall, an excellent read for anyone interested in psychopathy, crime & deviance, and psychotherapy.
