Good, but too short to be useful
This is a good Hebrew research tool. It's best feature is that it's only two volumes (compared to 11+ for the Theological Dictionary of the Old Testament!). The entries are short compared to other theological lexicons and wordbooks, however, and you don't get as much depth as you do in other theological lexicons.

If you're looking for slightly more than a lexicon, this is a great tool. But if you really want to study Hebrew words, their range of meanings, different usage, extra-Biblical usage, etc. try the 3 vol. Theological Lexicon of the Old Testament (Jenni, Westermann) or - for the best of the best - the Theological Dictionary of the Old Testament (11 vol completed, more to come).

Satisfied for About 20 Years Using this Set
This is a great set. I got it about 20 years ago when it first came out, and, as a pastor of over 23 years, I say "Go for it!" Although I do not refer to this work every week, it comes in handy when I need to do a Hebrew word study. Because it is cross-indexed with Strongs, you can find the Hebrew words (and their definitions/expansions) without knowing a stitch of Hebrew.

For practical ministry use, this is the set to get! It provides plenty of information, clear definitions, but does not get tedious (usually). I would recommend it over older studies which are not nearly as accurate (especially those done before the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in the 1940's).

Quick Review
Discusses just about every theologically significant Hebrew word.

Easy to use and find your word in question.

Full of useful information!

Didn't get past page 118. *Snore*
As a rule I give every book 100 pages to hook me and reel me in. This book barely made it to the cut off, let alone convince me to keep reading. I kept waiting for it to get good because the cover had so many blurbs from great writers! And I love future sci-fi, end of the world stories. But this novel, with the horribly done inclusion of past war heroes, flat characters, lacking scenery descriptions and such... ugh. I gave up. I'd rather re-read excellent novels like "The Stand" or "Battlefield Earth."

Oh Puleeeze!
A less than entertaining post-apocalyptic book, that mixes post-nuclear war survivors with a Stephen King patriotic seer-like old woman. Delves into time traveling quantum physics using of all things a Indian Shaman. Guest appearances by a Civil War General, General Patton, and a dinosaur. Seems like the author threw in everything but the kitchen sink in hopes that he'd strike a cord with some sort of audience. A real stinker of a book. If you're looking for post-apocalyptic reading material, then look at Deathlands by James Axler.

'Wrath of God' simply 'God Awful'
I am completely baffled about the accolades and rave reviews this book received. I found it wholly unbelievable (even considering its fantasy/SF perspective), shallow, and totally unenthralling. The dialogue was difficult to follow and become absorbed in. Favorable comments from the likes of Clive Barker, Robert Bloch, Nelson Demille and others apparently serve to illustrate that the commercial success of a book is only as good as its marketing glitz. This book was so bad that I couldn't even stomach reading the final 50 pages; if you like thrillers, believable adventure stories, suspense and action, you'll probably be disappointed, as reading it is (almost) as exciting as watching paint dry. Perhaps the audience who likes 'Sword of Shannara' type stories might (somehow) enjoy this, but I found it to be a waste of time and will avoid anything associated with Robert Gleason like the plague.
