This said, I feel the book is inconsistant. Her husband left her for the woman next door, Jackie. I think Jackie's husband is mentioned maybe twice - I found this to be a little strange since you would think they would have empathized with each other.
Another odd thing - Phylis would mention how she was not to date - as this would imply infidelity. She talks at length about how her friends have shunned her. She mentions taking to bed for days. Then she will throw in a paragraph about some men she dated during this time. It just doesn't flow well.
An interesting case study - just a few things that didnt' sit well.
