Thin Air
This is a great book about Jacob, who has very bad asthma. It's about his struggle with his family, friends, and peers. He starts skipping school and activities because at these places people know he's different than them. He starts to make friends with people who don't know about his problem. He also makes friends with a man who has a disability too. This was a book that made me think about people with disabilities.

What a good book!
I really liked this book, and I can realate because I am the same way. Rent it you WILL enjoy it guarnteed!

It's a good story. It's something everyone should read.
In this book, you see through the eyes of Jacob. This sixth grader who's trying his hardest to be just a normal kid, but his asthma keeps him from his goal for most of the time. His brother is really overprotective, he's basically afraid Jacob's going to die. When Jacob goes to a new school, he makes a great new friend, Cynthia, and goes through, some basically, discrimination. Discrimination against kids who are a little different. He escapes from school and makes friends with a newspaper standsman, Theodore. I won't ruin the end, but all I can say is that it is something everyone should read, and that it is not always the best thing to do to feel sorry for someone, or try to make it easier for them. I can really relate to this story because I have asthma too. It's a sad story, but has a happy ending.

I hope it never ends
This is one of the books I took out of the library yesterday, and I am so glad I did! This book its one of the best medical books geared for children I have ever read! I wish for tw othings, one, it will never end, and two, that there were more books in this series of unknown viruses. Thanks fo r a great read!

This informative book is perfect for today's student. It is small, concise, and attractively packaged. The black and white illustrations and the archival photos add to the authenticity of the research. The influenza epidemic of 1918, the "purple death", still remains a mystery. In 1918 scientists could not even see viruses. In spite of today's sophisticated equipment and specialized research, we still do not know why a half million people died within months. We do know WWI contributed to spreading the internationally. By continuing to search for answers, scientists hope to avoid more devastating pandemics.

Great story and great accurate information
I love this book (as does my 3 yr old son). Its the story of a 8 yr olds space shuttle trip to draw her "home" from a new perspective. I really like that it is a great story but also has completely accurate detailed information about a trip on the space shuttle -- it gives a great description of what blasting off might feel like. Any child fascinated by space will love this book.

Frozen Man

Fantastic!
This book is absolutely wonderful!

It systematically portrays the evidence behind this little known discovery, and points to the fact that the "scientific world" does not have all the answers.

Here is the corpse of a man, first thought to be a recent death, but then dated to be, perhaps, 5000 years old lying in the Alps. Once the police realized the enormity behind the find they had found, they called in the scientists.

The subsequent research was so contraversial, that it has been "hushed" and is only found on a few PBS stations and this little book.

Personally, I have to wonder if this "frozen man" was a child or grandchild of Adam.

I am a scientist, but I am a Christian, and this book about this hushed discovery once again smashes those two worlds together.

If you are a person who endeavors to pull this two worlds togethers, you would really enjoy this book. And the price is well worth it.

THE BOOK WAS GOOD
I THINK YOU SHOULD READ IT IF YOU NEED A BOOK TO READ IT'S NOT BAD AT ALL! READ IT!!

Real Anthropology
Gripping and suspenseful, this well written text affords a rare glimpse into the realm of anthropological studies, lending itself as an excellent tool for teachers studing South American Cultures. Sensative readers may be disturbed by photos in the text and the sacraficial death of the Peruvian children.

Almost Exciting
Not a bad novel!;About a little girl who plans to be a famous inventor and has the nerve to try.

This book is unbelievalbe
As a personal friend of David, I would truthfully express my synopsis of his book....truthfully...this is one of the greatest books written for young adults. His theme of triumph and generosity bring this book way above others. Yet again, David has captured the minds of young adults in this book. 5 stars all the way.
