Fantastic!~
This is truly a wonderful book!
This story is told by the little girl who is going to town with her mother for the morning.
She has a big green pocketbook, just like Mama's, but hers is empty and she can't find anything to put inside it.
Mama says "hurry", because the bus is coming, so the little girl brings her empty pocketbook along anyway.
During the course of the morning, she gathers many treasures and by the time the bus comes to return the girl and her mother home, her pocketbook is full.

The little girl's view of the world is refreshing and enchanting~
She observes that the cool marble walls in the bank smell like pennies~ And she is amazed that, at the drycleaners, the machine knows exactly where to stop for mama's suit.
This is a delightful book that moms and daughters will enjoy, but both boys and girls will like hearing it, and seeing the usual best from Candice Ransom and Felicia Bond's awesome pictures.

Big Green Pocketbook's a hit
My 22 month old daughter loves to read this book with me! i think she likes that the main character is a big girl and she's spending the day with her mom- something my little one can really relate to!

Lovely bond between mom and daughter
This is a wonderful book for mothers to read to or with their daughters. A simple day of errands turns into something magical between them and a hand-me-down green pocketbook holds the key to a delightful day.

This series taught my son how to read
My middle son was about seven and having a lot of trouble learning how to read when we bought one of the books in this series at a book fair. The words aren't easy, but, since it's a comic book format, he could understand what was going on without knowing all the vocabulary. I tell you, he read the first one over and over, till he must have known it by heart.

We had always read to him, and he liked other books (Dr. Seuss, etc.), but we had to force him to read them on his own. This series he loved enough to really break through and develop that curl-up-somewhere-quiet-and-read habit, and since then we've just watched his smoke.

The illustrations are very vivid and realistic, and the stories taken very seriously (unlike the silly Disney-type versions), which children appreciate more. I would recommend this book for kids up to even 11 or 12.

Like they say, every child can be a reader if you just find the subject that he's interested in. For my son, this -- and, I have to admit, Archie comics -- did the trick.

The Colonial Cookbook

easy as pie
the recipes in this book I found delicious and incredibly easy to make. Penner does a great job in introducing small children to the fine art of cooking. I, myself, used this cookbook for a project in school. It provides a background of where the recipe you are making originated, plus ingredients and instructions. This book was great. Oh. . .and I suggest to all who buy this book, make the baked Pumpkin, it is THE BEST!!!

The book ''Bulfinch's Mythology'' contains historic legends
This book is wonderful. It's just the kind of book I like ; it's mysterious , contains a lot of information and it's about myths in which people actually believed in the past.My favourite part is the Greek mythology. It's about gods , heroes and all kinds of monsters. It's also fun to make a dictionary of the names that I find so that next time when I see the same name in another book I can just look in my dictionary and remind myself the meening of the word. This is the kind of a book for people who like to read about mystery and advanture.

The winds that are in various places in the country are ques
I am very happy to be an author appearing on Amazon.com. This book has been such a joy partly because of the beautiful art done by an already accomplished painter. she has done such lovely and interesting work. I believe every child has a right to "good" art in their books as well as innovative and thought provoking text and I believe this book fills both. I wrote it for my daughter, who was two years old at the time we vacationed in the far west. The wind seemed to blow all the time there and she asked,"Is this the same wind we have at home?" My answer was "yes, it just changes as it goes along." I hope I was right. I hope you will seek out this book even though it is out of print.

A Fun Book To Read With Children at Halloween
I had the joy of hearing this book read by a lirarian to a class of second graders. The repetitive lines and great illustrations make this book a delight to read with children. They will laugh at the names of the characters used in this book. This book is a must for the lower-elementary grades.

Theseus, a book that all children should have
Theseus, Hero of the maze is a very fast book. Besides with allthe battles it's impossible not to be. But I must warn parents thereare some very violent scenes. Hope you enjoyed it as much as me

Motivates your beginning reader
One of my sons had a lot of trouble with beginning reading. How laboriously we taught him his letters, then sounds, then short words! But then we found the Myth Men series. He read these books over and over -- and they have some big words! It's a comic book format, so he could pick up cues from the pictures. This series (and Archie comics, actually) got him over the reading hump, he moved on to text without pictures, and last year he won an award for most books read at his school!

This story is about the Pottle family and how each one liked to collect different things. All the Pottle's meet there husbands / wife's on a rainy day. The story is about how the third Pottle finds his wife on a sunny day when he is sad and then it turns into a rainy day. When Mrs. Pottle and Mr. Pottle got married they had a girl and she liked shoes. They meet at a hat store when a lady was yelling at him because he was dancing around with a hat from the store.

A Three Hat Day
A funny little man who loves hats cheers himself up by wearing three at a time! This is a great book for teaching primary graders about permutations and probability theory.

Billy
Billy's dad is every players worst nightmare. He intrudes on practices, yells at the coach and comes into the locker room and help Billy put on his gear. Mr. Fowler isnt sure Billy has to put in two weeks of summer camp while the other teammates are doing just one. Should he be Mr. Intensity all the time. It's clear Billy needs help standing up against his father. WHat are teammates for anyways?

Excellent Book
Billy has the kind of father that yells at the team, yells at the coach, and comes in the looker room to help Billy put his gear on. Then when the season is over Billy's dad makes him do 2 weeks of hockey camp and the other Wolfbay Wings only have to do one. Poor Billy, what will he do?

This book and the other Wolfbay Wings books are great for young hockey fans and players. I enjoyed them.
