Great new story
After reading the original 5 or 6 Curious George stories to my 2 year old son about a hundred times, it is refreshing to see some new adventures. We just picked up this book today after going to the dump and my son just loves it. The spirit of the original stories is still there while the artwork is slightly more crisp and detailed. I look forward to reading the other new stories!

Little Boys Love It!
A dump truck, a lever that gets pulled not once but twice, and robbers! What a combo and George is a hero again. I hope someday that they bring this version out of print. My boys loved it and my preschool boys page through it everyday! It is also a great springboard to the other great Curious George books.

A family favorite
My 3 year old loves Curious George books and all kinds of heavy equipment so combining the two means it's one of his favorite books, and just like George he is always curious especially about George and why he is doing what he is doing. In our house both my 3 year old and 17 month old would sooner read about Curious George than watch tv.

One of Katy's favorites
My 3 year old daughter Katy loves the Curious George books. She particularly like this one and wants to read it almost every night. As an aside, the book has taught Katy about the presidents on Mt. Rushmore and she wants to go to South Dakota to see them!

Curious George Strikes Again
Curious George and the Hot Air Balloon is another charming example of the magic Margret and H.A. Rey weave. Children will find this book enchanting. They will identify with George's curiousity, which causes trouble, and cheer when he saves the day. I enjoyed the delightful pictures. I also appreciated the simple, straighforward language and easy-to-follow story development. Fans of Curious George will love this story; those unfamiliar with his books will become fans.

george is wonderful
George is good to read after an exasperating day with your toddler or preschooler. It reminds you that it could be worse, you could REALLY have a monkey to care for, and your monkeys don't really mean to get into mischief, they are just very very curiouus.

Just as good as the original stories
To date my daughter has been reading the "Curious George" books that belonged to my husband when he was a child. I was a little skeptical that the newly written stories would capture the same spirit as those written more than 30 years ago. However, my daughter absolutely loved it especially as both the storyline and the illustrations were more detailed than usual and made it fun for her to point out different things and extend into a discussion with us about beaches, lifesaving etc. Like her other "George" books she has reread this one over and over.

This is a great book for pre-schoolers and early readers!!!
This series by Margaret Rey is a wonderful introduction for preschoolers to stories with a simple plot line. In Curious George Visits the Zoo, George gets into mischief (which children can always relate to....) but redeems himself in the end by saving a young boy's balloon. In Curious George Visits the Fire Station, George is naughty when he rings the fire alarm, but again shows his better side when he rescues one of the firehouse puppies by climbing UP the firepole. In Curious George and the Pizza, he makes a mess trying his hand at tossing pizza dough into the air, but saves the day when he alone can make a crucial pizza delivery by climbing over a locked gate. Young children enjoy comparing the plots in this series. George is told not to get into trouble, he gets into trouble, then he exonerates himself. Parents, grandparents, teachers and child-care providers will all enjoy this series along with their youngsters!

I LIKE THE BOOK ALOT.
THE BOOK WAS A ABOUT GOERGE WHEN HE WENT TO THE ZOO AND THE MONKEY TOOK A BALOON FROM A LITTE BOY AND GEROGE GOT SOME BANANAS FROM A ZOO KEEPER. THEN HE GAVE THE BANANAS TO THE MONKEYS.

Southwestern Mom
Bought this to take on a trip for those down times when something quiet is a good thing for everyone. This is a fantastic playset for kids very familiar with Curious George- great gift for 3 or 4 year olds! Lots of punchout pieces (best stored in a ziplock rather than the book's envelope). My 4 year old LOVES this!

Wonderfully entertaining for kids 3 and older.
Unwrap and unfold the entire book to receive a pop-up house and a small monkey, complete with two 20-page booklets stored in the pockets. Kids ages 3 and older will enjoy playing with the 43 press-outs and cardboard figures of this pop-up house with scenes based on the classic George.

Extremely useful
As a math minor at Mount Holyoke (yes, my professors actually wrote the book!) I found the book extremely useful especially as an introduction to writing math reports and papers. You will too. :)

Bridges
This book and the accompanying course helped me enter higher mathematics and discover what being a mathematician was really about. It gave in depth insight into the beginnings of mathematical research and how it gets done.

Maigret Afraid

School Reading actually had me hooked
If you have to read a book and are entering the 12th grade or beyond this is the one to read, it has suspense on every page and it's interesting, If i can read the whole thing anyone can, time passes by quickly when you read a good book and this is a great one trust me

Simenon's Reputation Has Nothing to Be Afraid Of
A small, quiet French village dominated by a sense of social status is well described in this novel by Georges Simenon. The book has an amazing sense of atmosphere, of believable characters and situations, of the dark world in the pouring rain in which the three victims die... The moral of the book is concerned with the social statuses of the characters, of how the normal people despise the aristocracy, how the aristocracy despise the aristocracy and the citizens. The book is, like all Simenon, well-written and believable, even in the most fantastic situations, dragging the reader onwards and onwards, unable to put the book down.

Captures the essence of The Jersey Shore
Our family has the fortune of having Frank Finale as a teacher to both our children.

He has done a wonderful job capturing the Jersey Shore for all of its charms and the many artists who live here.

Everyone who visits the Jersey Shore will want this book
First, the editors of To the Shore Once should be congratulated. They chose 101 drawings, etchings, and paintings from local New Jersey and some national artists. These works of Art complement Mr. Frank Finale's writing in essays, prose and poetry. You, turn the page and you feel like you are at the beach in Spring Lake, Belmar or Manasquan. Even the carrousel of 1950s Asbury Park is represented. As I think of Frank O'Hara's book on Jackson Pollock, To The Shore Once More will become a classic coffee table book for years to come. Art and prose and poetry, what a nice mix. We have Mr. Frank Finale to thank for such a beautiful book this Summer

Berkeley's Revolution in Vision

An informative account of Berkeley's theory of vision
This is an excellent and very informative account of Berkeley's theory of vision - a topic that deserves to be studied on its own and not only (as has often been the case) as a minor side of his subjective idealism. Atherton's book is a must for all students of Berkeley and highly recommendable to those who are interested in the philosophical aspects of the theory of vision or in the development of epistemology in early modern philosophy.

Great for developing scissor skills!
I am using this book with my elementary school-aged children to help teach them eye-hand coordination and basic scissor skills. The kids love cutting out the challenging but fun costumes and are motivated to do their best work. This book utilizes heavier stock paper which is easier for the children to manipulate. There are dozens of outfits in a wide variety of themes, so you are sure to find something to please. I had just as much fun as the children cutting out the clothing and dressing up George.
