Cultivates growth in your relationship with God!
This book is an exact copy of her book entitled "God's Garden of Grace" (which is now out of print) only with a new title and cover! This book focuses on the fruits of the Spirit and how to live them out in our daily lives. The study guide in the back helps you dig deeper into the study! Very helpful!

Inspiring!!
This is the first Elizabeth George book I have read and I can't wait to read her other works! Beautifully written and inspiring. A great study guide for help in living out the fruits of the spirit on a daily basis. Guide to becoming a kinder, more gentle, loving woman while accually recognizing the strength in these virtues rather than the weakness our society leads us to believe a serving attitude shows. I loved this book!!

Best Ever
All of Elizabeth George's books are a "must read" but this is her best yet! This book is changing my life on a minute to minute basis as I choose to let the fruits of the spirit answer for me as oppossed to my flesh.

different but very interesting angle on the zapatistas
The book has a very different focus on the Zapatista movement
than most others out there. It doesn't look at it from a present
time point of view and what do the Zapatistas mean, what do they
want, how do they work....

It looks simply at the history of the indigenous people of Chiapas
and their relationship with the mexican governement and tries to
make sense and explain why it is that the zapatista rebellion happened in Chiapas.

Very interesting and well written

Most in depth, gives the most background info of chiapas
This book is amazing, definetely one of the best out there. Dont be fooled by its cheap price, its well worth three times that amount if youre an avid chiapas rebel. For those of you looking for your first Chiapas book, this is definetely the one to choose.

Most objective examination of the 1994 Chiapas peasant revol
The Zapatista revolution has been the subject of many books, articles, and opinions, but this book covers the subject in the most objective and thorough journalistic manner.

God's Wisdom for Little Girls
I can't say enough wonderful things about this book! It is truely a treasure... I think every child should read such a beautiful book. The teachings are important and the pictures are wonderful. After reading this book, I am buying other Elizabeth George books!

A delightful little book for girls!
I learned a really important lesson myself while reading thhis book to my daughter. I would reccomend this book to any parent wanting to instill the Truth of God word to there daughters.

All women and women with daughters need this book!
I have always hoped there would be a book like this one....and finally here it is! This book captures the essence of Proverbs 31 and how we can define and apply this Proverb today. Proverbs 31 has been my goal as a wife, mother and Christian for years, but I have been confused in that past how I could apply this Proverb to my life today. This is the perfect book for your daughters also - it is written on there level of understanding also. It can be used for the young and old alike, plus it would make the perfect gift for a new Christian mom that is having a baby girl. The pictures are beautiful and inviting. Thank you Elizabeth George!

Jehovahs
I appreciated the way Elizabeth George drew out the names of God demonstrated in Psalm 23. It helped me focus on who God is. Thank you, Mrs. George!

The perfect book for struggling "sheep".
Elizabeth George has once again written a challenging, thought-provoking, and encouraging book. She guides the reader verse by verse through one of the most familiar passages in all of scripture. She brings life and understanding the the words of David and helps you to understand the significance of the shepherd metaphor. When I read this book I was struggling with God's call for our family to serve in a ministry with very little pay. By looking at the 23rd Psalm, I came to realize that the Lord would provide all that my family needed and that he would give us protection and grace to face the days ahead. What a joy to have that burden lifted and to fully trust in the Lord. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who desires to be lead by the Good Shepherd.

Another very helpful book by Elizabeth George
This book focuses on the 23rd Psalm, and as always, Elizabeth George walks readers through every line, weaving her own personal stories throughout to entertain and illustrate each promise. Her heartwarming style and obvious, extensive knowledge of the Bible make this book a must-read for every Christian woman (and man!). Elizabeth George has written other important books, several of which I have read and re-read. I highly recommend this!

Three Elizabethan Fencing Manuals
This book is wonderful on so amy levels. First of all, it is a wonderful reference for fencers to see where it all began. It is also a wondeful book of you have a desire to read and want to be able to speak and understand old ELizabethan English. There are also many wonderful woodcuts showing costuming of the period. It is a great book to have in ones library.

THIS is what stage combat tries to be and fails.
This is not a modern re-telling or history book. It's not even re-typed - just a facsimile reprint of three fencing manuals of the Renaissance. If you want to know how it was really done, this is the place. It's real.

But don't assume you'll have an easy read. Saviolo is not writing in his native language, and it shows. He doesn't describe motions very well, and occasionally appears to leave out a foot move in a long sequence. Di Grassi never wrote in English. This manual is a sixteenth century English translation of his Italian manual. People who deride the "negative campaigning" of today will get quite a surprise when they read Silver's virulent contempt for the rapier and the foreigners who teach it.

There is also the language issue. Yes, it's written in English, but sixteenth century English doesn't always mean what you think it does. Saviolo tells you to come on guard with your right wrist against your knee, your right foot against your opponent's right foot, and your point against his face. Obviously, something has been lost in four centuries. In this case, it's the fact that "against" meant "opposite or across from", not "touching". You are now armed against one problem, but it's still not the language you think it is. (Hint: an Oxford English Dictionary is a very useful companion volume.)

Also, don't assume you can do this in modern fencing. The blades were longer and heavier, and they don't work like modern fencing weapons. Furthermore, these are very basic lessons. We know that the advanced moves were jealously guarded, and not written in books.

With all the difficulties, this book remains essential - it's a direct link to the fighting methods of the Elizabethan fencers. Di Grassi is the easiest to follow. Saviolo is particularly helpful for research, because he spends some time explaining why he does things differently form others, thereby documenting both styles and explaining the thinking process of fencing masters. Silver prefers the short sword to the rapier, and shows us that the Renaissance held many different views.

This books stands alone -- there is just no commercially available substitute.

Your stage combat will look better, your re-enactments will be more real, your understanding of the sword will be sharper.

A very important reference on fencing history
This book is a facsimile of three fencing manuals of the XVI century covering two major traditions: the rapier techniques, mainly italian but also used in Spain and Portugal at the time; and the short-sword techniques, probably british in origin.

The time in which these manuals were published was crucial: there was a gradual transition from the medieval sword techniques to the renaissance rapier ones. At the time (and long afterwards) the french schools of fencing were not existent and the main flow was latin: two of the manuals were written by italians and the swords used in latin countries were rapidly evolving from medieval sword towards the rapier. Those were times of frequent wars and of deadly clashes involving different cultures and ways of fighting. Very different from the later "civilized" duels between long-haired make-uped "gentlemen" which originated the french schools of fencing from which our childish fencing appeared.

This work is the real thing! It shows the experience of three sword masters, in a time where expertise was gained by fighting often and staying alive doing it, and mastery was achieved by recognition from a world where everyone was a swordsman ready to challenge such a person just to get fame.

Forget for a moment modern sword-"play" and read this book about real swordsmanship!

UNLEASH YOUR HIDDEN POTENTIALS-
THE BOOK HAS HELPED ME A LOT.ITS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.ALL I CAN SAY IS 'YOU ARE ONLY LIMITED BY YOUR IMAGINATION'.READ AND ULEASH YOUR HIDDEN POTENTIIAL AND CREATIVE ABILITIES WHICH ARE ESSENTIAL TOOLS IN THIS COMPETETIVE ERA.ITS SO FAR THE BEST BOOK THAT I HAVE READ ON THE SUBJECT.

Great "How to" Book
Like many people whose daytime activities do not depend on creativity I gravitate to a hobby that requires creativity. But how do you unleash latent creativity? Most of us don't have a clue, and we suppose that whatever creative talent we have will just naturally come out. Dr. Gamez's little book is the best "How to" book I've seen on this subject. I highly recommend it!

A great book with interesting sort of plot through it.
A boy named Matt is left alone in Maine Woods. His father has left him to go and get his new baby sister. The really cool things happen when a boy is left in the woods with Indians. Matt and an Indian meet and the book get really good. I think that the best thing in this book is the relationship and the way it changes. They start out as true enemies, but weird events in this story make the relationship grow. The amazing part is the reactions that Attean (the Indian) has. Also the stories he tells. This is a great book with a really great plot and very fun to read. I really enjoyed it.

A well written book.
This book is one of the best books I have ever read. Its got sadness, happiness, and most of all this book has a lot of adventure. Its about a 12 year old boy who has to live on his own in the wilderness of Maine. He meets Indians and learns there way of living.

Leckie does not judge Libby by modern standards
This is a beautifully written book, and very readable. Having read a lot about the history of the period I already knew how fiercely the widow Custer guarded her husband's reputation and how much she did to enhance it. Unlike many female authors might do, however, Leckie does not judge Libby by modern standards, but puts her in the context of her time. She also touches on the possibility that remaining Autie's widow may have been far more liberating for her, in her times, than it would have been to become Mrs. Someone else. During her husband's lifetime she lived in his shadow, but after his death she was able to use that connection to become an author and lecturer in her own right. She also left an estate valued at over $300,000, after her husband had managed only to put them into debt. Having read her memoirs like Boots and Saddles and Tenting on the Plains, it was clear that Mrs.Custer never gave much insite into her true feelings. Nothing seemed to upset her except a criticism of her husband. Inspite of this, though, Leckie does manage to make her into a real person. I found her epilogue truly moving, and I came away with an understanding of an historical character, whom up to this point, I hadn't much cared for.

.

Every Custer enthusiast and admirer should read this one
Sometimes, it's not how good you are, but how good your P.R. is that determines your reputation. And in the case of the (in)famous U.S. cavalry commander George Armstrong Custer, the P.R. was definitely good. Immediately after Custer's death (along with 200+ of his troops in what was, and arguably still is, the worst battle loss ever suffered by U.S. forces), his widow, Libbie Bacon Custer, began a propaganda campaign designed to secure her beloved husband's place in history. Unfortunately for history, she succeeded far too well. This book, a biography of Custer's widow, gives real insight into how she manipulated the media available to her in order to glorify her husband--or to be more accurate, to glorify her idealized portrait of her husband. Had Libbie not done her work so well, Custer would have been only a footnote in American History. In addition to providing a valuable supplement to the historical record concerning Custer, Ms. Leckie's book paints a masterly portrait of an exceptional woman, which is well worth the time of readers with little interest in Custer

Illustrations are heartwarming
This book is a real find. The illustrations are so boyish yet sweet. The print, at 4 lines and rhyming, will keep their attention. With 3 boys, we can relate to it and will enjoy it for years to come. Geared to younger boys, probably younger than 8. Scripture used is very easy to understand. Covers qualities such as obedience, cheerfulness, being kind, brave and diligent, thankful and responsible, among others.

Very nice!
This is such a nice little book. It is a good book to read when studying character traits with little boys and discussing what kind of boy God wants them to be. The illustrations are beautiful. My children really like this book!

Desiring To Be What God Wants You To Be
The title of this book really caught my eye. I have always wanted to be what God wants me to be, but I never knew where to begin. Elizabeth George did an excellent job giving practical insights on how to begin to mold you heart after God's own heart. That task is not any easy one to accomplish. As a wife, pastor's wife, and a soon to be mom, I was grateful for all the topics she covered in her book. This book will really help you learn how to put God into the center of every area in your life! It has helped me to get my spiritual life back on track with my loving Heavenly Father! Another plus was that it strengthened my relationship with my husband. We are all taught some pretty unhealthy ways of being a woman, wife, and mother. George did a wonderful job bringing in Scripture along with her insights. I now know the TRUE way to be a Godly woman, wife and mother! I recommend this book to any woman who has the desire to be what God wants her to be! The neat thing about this book is that it is geared to any woman, single or married.

Great Details for Living God's Priorities In Your Home
This book is a great guide for any woman who wants to better organize her life in order to accomplish all God has for her and to grow into a woman after God's own heart. Her practical advice on a woman's priorities (God, Husband, Children and home) are a literal "God Send". I highly recommend this book!

Stop Stuggling By Yourself! Let God In!
Before I got married I would not have had the heart to read this book. I thought that being a partner and being equal meant being the same, and that anything that told you differently went against the interest of women. This book shows you how to live as the woman that God wants you to be. I'm still reading it and don't want to rush because each lesson is so important. This book is changing my life and making me much more comfortable about my new position as a wife who will soon become a mother. I've been trained to be a superwoman, and this book is full of lessons about how to be the woman that God intends for you to be. My trust in God and my husband has been building as I implement these lessons into my new life. Read it!
