I do locum tenens (temporary) doctoring and when I go on an assignment this is the first book to go in my suitcase. I take it to the office with me in the morning and take it home at night in case I get a question that I need it for. It is clear, concise, comprehensive and as authoritative as any text can be. If you care for or prescribe meds to pregnant or lactating women, this is a "must have".

From a woman's point of view I found the book Jubilee House to be especially germane to the subject young girls who are victimized by incestuous fathers and other adults. The trauma suffered by Virginia was adequately described and her subsequent desire to overcome this possible lifelong problem is very well described. The book also brings out much of the religious and Spiritual values exercised by a Cape Cod missionary couple, Ken and Olive. The excitement of her finally meeting a man whoo seeks a Spiritual Garden builds the excitement to follow on Martha's Vineyard and later when visiting a Voodoo Prince and Princess on La Gonave island. I found Virginia's adventurous relationships to be non stop; holding my interest throughout. A ghostly departed whaling sea-captain named Bartholomew Hilliard is a sentimental and salty apparition whose appearance is heartwarming and fulfilling to Virginia's and Roger Beechwood's final mission at Jubilee House on Martha's Vineyard. I think every woman who reads this book will find it to hold her interest and give lasting memories.
