I met _Forgotten Children_ in 1991, and my life has not been the same since. As a legally blind person interested in special education, I was fascinated by the description of an educational system developed for children who had cerebral palsy and were legally blind. More than the description, however, I was impressed by the authors' attempt to present the children as _people_, not as laboratory specimens. The in-depth look at selected cases helped to establish the students as real children instead of a bunch of statistics. This book is definitely worth reading.
