Angels & Monsters
Children's perspective of cancer is presented in this uplifting book through their own words, drawings, and photographs. Despite our natural sadness when confronted with this subject, the reader senses courage and hope when turning the pages of this book. Sadness is there as well, but the faith and fighting spirit of these children remind us of the resilience and strength and unceasing hope within all of us.

a book filled with hope
As always, Billy shows us the value of each individual. His work focuses on groups of people that we often would prefer not to acknowledge, those with AIDS, those with disabilties, the homeless and, in this case, kids with cancer. But Billy always shows us that we can learn much from each individual and that all can bring joy to our lives. Contrary to being "depressing," this book is full of hope.

The impressive result of an eight year project
Angels & Monsters: A Child's Eye View Of Cancer by art therapist Lisa Murray and professional photographer Billy Howard is the impressive result of an eight year project in which Murray worked with children and had them express their feelings about their cancers through their artwork -- and then talk about their art. Howard took a photographic portrait of each child. The artwork and the portraits where paired and presented in a stunningly beautiful and thought-provoking exhibit under the auspices of the American Cancer Society, and which is memorably presented in the pages of Angels & Monsters. Sensitive, insightful, unique, and thoroughly "kid friendly", Angels & Monsters is highly recommended reading for any child (and their parents) having to cope with cancer, and would make a welcome and valued addition to any school or community library collection.

"Redneck Classic" Review (From a Redneck's Daughter)
I think this is a very funny book, although some of the jokes are too gross. It has clips from many of Foxworthy's various redneck books, like "You Might Be A Redneck If", "Games Rednecks Play", & "Hick is Chic". Overall, it's a pretty good book. I'm getting it for my dad for Father's Day. I'm sure he'll love it. :)

Funny Book!
I really laugh my butt of when i read this book! Jeff Foxwrthy is the funniest comedian alive today! If you like laughing at or about red-necks you'l love this book! Buy it because it's the BEST of Jeff FOxworthy!

I really fun read
As all of the good books I read...this one was read within two days. I don't know what it is about me and biographies of interesting people, but this is a good one. It's filled with real life stories we wouild all like to tell. Yes...he is famous...but this book makes you feel like you are along with him on his wild red-neck lifestyle. It will make you feel like you were with him during his wild escapades. I really would have loved to be there with his adventures. Some people may take offense, but if you enjoy fun at all costs..this is the book for you. Keep in mind. Don't read this if you are an ultra vegetarian. It's for real people that love adventure.

I can't say enough about this man's style of comedy...
In a world glutted with obscenity and gratuitous violence and hatred, here's a good-hearted, only slightly racy comic who can still make you laugh so hard you'll pee your pants. Though the text humor differs quite a bit from the onstage humor (chiefly in pacing -- his onstage show, of necessity, has a driven energy level and non-stop humor, while this book has the feel of a campfire yarn, told with all the necessary changes of mood that any good story would have), it still translates to funny, as well as occasionally thought-provoking. The humor works best, I think, on Southerners (people not familiar with and sympathetic to how the South works may find themselves looking around all uptight, muttering "I don't see what's so funny").

One can hardly say that one sense of humor fits all, so I'll just say this: It's fairly clean humor that pokes fun at Southern quirks, with a good storytelling style and irreverence. The book stays well away from the touchiest political/social topics of the day, concentrating on stuff we can all meet on -- hating one's day job, finding the love of one's life and discovering her butt is always cold, why hunting is ridiculous but considered cool by many Southern men, stuff like that. Ostensibly it's a biography, but it meanders quite a bit, duplicating some things from the stage shows. I liked it, personally.

just as good as his stand up!
This was a great book & a wonderful read even if you're not a jeff foxworthy fan. I'd highly reccomend this book to anyone.
