I am an out lesbian who's been involved with queer politics and HIV issues for 15 years, but I just recently got around to reading Dr. Cammermeyer's book. Even after all my years of being "out," I found her story and life so far to be fascinating and inspiring. It's wonderful to have another role model for my own life! I encourage anyone interested in finding out how women can change society and military policy to read this book. It's also a good read for the role of women in the Vietnam war and in the National Guard. Dr. Cammermeyer is truly a "great American," as the military admitted while in the same breath sanctioning her discharge. Her story is all about one person having the integrity and strength to stand up for what she believes to be right, using the legal system to out-maneuver the military, and continuing to be a passionate and out-spoken supporter of banishing ALL types of discrimination. But her book is also an amazing window into the life experiences that fully shaped her to be the person who she is today. Daughter, mother, soldier, nurse, life partner, healer, activist: Dr. Cammermeyer is a hero on so many levels, and you'll have the chance to learn about all of it in her book. (The made-for-TV movie starring Glenn Close as Dr. Cammermeyer and Judy Davis as Diane, her life partner, is also fabulous!)

In 1996 I was fired from a government law enforcement position due to my orientation. I hit bottom, emotionally and financially. This book helped me see we have to fight discrimination, that I can survive this ordeal and come out a better person. It is a story of courage from a real hero, and I reccomend it no matter what your orientation, military status, or personal beliefs.

Clearly reveals the absurd and cruel policy of the military concerning lesbians and gays. How disgusting that an institution of the U.S. government shows such bigotry, ignorance, and distain for a group of people, not to mention an individual who served her country with dedication and distinction. How disgusting the bigotry continues in the military and throughout our government.

Everyone interested in leadership, management, and basis of these two conceptions should hurry and get this book of Dr. Fisher! I strongly recommend to the people engaged in high-echelons of the institutions and higher ed administration people. Hurry up and get this book! It is thr Bible for the people who want to perform well and advance their activities! I would add 5 more stars!

I have most of the books by Dr. James L. Fisher and this one is another 'must-have' book for everyone engaged in the leadership field. I strongly recommend you this book and you will read it within a day! It will absorb you and will have you re-read the book over and over again!

In "An Anthology of Living Religions," Fisher and Bailey provide the reader with a great survey of the religions of the world. Each of the traditional religions, Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism, Islam, and Sikhism are explained in great detail through contemporary writers who are experts in the religion they are writing about. Other religions, such as New Religious Movements and The Interfaith Movement, are also dealt with generally. This is a great text if you are looking for a survey of religions. It also satisfies the needs of those who wish to have a reference guide which outlines the basics of world religions readily available for easy reference. After explaining the basics of each religion, and including writings of those familiar with the religion, Fisher and Bailey include a reference to pertinent terms, holy days, a historical outline, and a section listing further readings. There is also a chapter which specifically deals with The Religious Response, defining the philosophy of religion and the need to have religion in our world today. I highly recommend this book.

This books gives a great overview of law related education. Students are introduced to legal issues in the context of real life. It contains practical information for dealing with various legal problems. Students learn how to write to a member of Congress. This book has a section that allows students to consider and decide the outcome of legal situations. They learn variations in local law and prodedures that focus attention on where the student lives. Over all I would suggest this book as a great training tool for the law related class study.

As a high school student who studied with this textbook, I learned terms and concepts that I could immediately apply to current events. The news on TV and in newspapers about cases were suddenly understandable to me and I felt connected with justice and reason. I recommend "Street Law: A Course in Practical Law" to anyone who wants a detailed and informative, yet comprehensive guide to the law, from torts and criminal law, to business and family law.

A nice collection of artists, with some great examples of what they can do. But....
Paper stock is poor and some prints are a bit blurry.

This is a great artbook, featuring many famous furry artists. I love the art, and look at it regularly. If you're a fan of Michele Light, I recommend it.

This book started my physical collection of furry publishings, and still remains the best singal pice I have. Not only is it perfectaly published, but contains excellent examples of anthropomorphic artwork. Its my personal bible.

A collection of ads and drawings of silverplate patterns. I have 5 different patterns that we collect. This book only had 2 of the five.

This book has lots of nice pictures and drawings that show good detail of the different patterns. There are lots of patterns to choose from including some that are very old. The only problem is that it doesn't really have a good variety of brands. Also, it took me a while to figure out where the values are. Once I figured that out, I got real tired of flipping back to the front cover over and over to see what my pieces were worth. However, if you've got the right brands this could be the perfect book for you!

If you have an old set of silverplate or odd pieces, especially older ornate pieces of flatware,this is a good guide, well illustrated, with many reproductions of original catalogs. I found pattern names of several odd serving pieces which led to a search for matching place settings.

A BIG disappointment! Shoddy reproductions (black & white)with very poor resolution (small and out of focus reprints of the postcards.) If it wasn't such a hassle I would have returned the book.

I was hoping for some nice color pictures to go along with the price guide. No such luck. There are only some poorly scanned black and white pics. This book is only underline only a price guide!
