Good, but need answers to questions
Pretty good text. Includes interesting real-world applications and easy-to-understand chapter layouts. The one gripe I have is that answers hould be provided to the questions at the end of each chapter (or should be available for purchase in a separate textbook). I have taken two accounting classes in which this book was used and in both classes the teacher had to xerox the answers out of his answer book for the entire class. I learned so much more this way. Rather than trying to figure them out on my own, I could see what the answer was and then figure out WHY.

Basic and to the point
This textbook makes accounting look easy compared to other accounting textbooks I have examined. It covers the basics of accounting and goes right to the point. It has many problems at the end of each chapter that's great for practice and review. It also provides a website you could go to for a quick review and practice quiz.

EXCITED FIRST TIME BUYER

management accouting for steve albrecht, et al
this text hasn't included solutions manual that's big trouble for student

Missing major material
This book was required for my accounting class. It seems the have the holes of Swiss cheese though. While it probably covers the basics of Financial Accounting as well as any other book, it lacks some things that I thought would be entirely useful. For example only the odd exercises have the solutions in the back. Maybe it's just me, but I expect all since I'm in college. Furthermore, despite the copyright date of 2002, this edition contains a lot of old material. It lists Market Capitalization information about Microsoft from the spring and summer of 2000, the peak in stock prices. Also in the first chapter it speaks of accounting ethics and references a speech made in 1998 by the chairman of the SEC. It makes no mention to the scandals of Enron, WorldCom etc. (Enron declared bankruptcy on Dec. 2, 2001.) This edition appears to be just a desire by the authors to put out a new edition to limit the used book trade of the 7th edition and make more money for the authors.
If you can avoid it, do not buy this edition new.

Super Service
Very fast delivery. Book was in brand-new shape.

good college textbook, should be cut to 900 pages
Good if you have lots of time to kill, because it has some pages devoted to useless information such as the stupid poem on page 1022 that has nothing to do with accounting. It appears the authors placed lots of "real world" trivia that is boring and useless. Entire page of 964 talks about the reason why Coca-Cola will not do business with Lakers because they signed Pepsi spokeman Shaq O'Neill, it has nothing to do with the subject but the extra pages makes you think you got something for the high priced book. If you absolutely need this book, go borrow it from your public library and save your money. The book manuscript was NEVER approved by a CPA or business owner but a long list of college instructors. It does cover all the basics.

I have found this book to be a okay for college classes
The book does a alright job of teaching students how to learn accounting. It lacks answers to which could definitly help students. The book's main advantage is that it has many real life examples that help students relate to accounting.

Well laid out, not a strain to follow or learn from.
This book was real easy to pick up the accounting basics that the authors presented. The text is broken up with graphic presentations and real world examples which makes it easy on the eyes and the brain. At the end of every chapter is illustrative problems, discussion questions, multiple choice, exercises and chapter problems. When you've completed a chapter you really feel you know the material. Plus there are tons of internet stuff. Worth the money and cheaper than the other accounting book I was forced to buy.
